Alexander the Great spread the Greek religion throughout the Mediterranean and into ancient Babylon and Persia. Then the Romans stole their religion when they conquered the Greeks. And for that we named the planets of our solar system after their gods. What's the big deal with these gods anyway? Ancient Egypt and Babylon: two peas in a pod. They traded, they collaborated, they fought sometimes. They also shared some mythological inspiration. Josh and Nick take a deep dive into these pantheons to look at how the divines have evolved in Palladium up to this point (1994) and what exactly draws these super beings to Earth in the first place, especially in the past when magic wasn't as strong. CJ Carella joined the Palladium Books Rifts team in 1994 and we're taking a look at his first entry into the canon. The is also the first book where Kevin Siembieda got to take a bit of a step back and take on the role of art director and senior editor as a team of amazing artists came together to illustrate seven different pantheons in their Rifts incarnations. You're sitting there ready to make a new character. You naturally reach for your dice to roll up Attributes first. But wait! Did you consider where that character came from first? Why is this character you are about to roll up a cyborg in the first place? What made them want to volunteer for the dangerous conversion process? And why did they choose the military over civil service?
