"Despair is Not an Option" ft. Bernie Sanders | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 66
2026/10/16
Killer Mike sits down with Senator Bernie Sanders for a powerful conversation about billionaires, Donald Trump, the Democratic Party, voting rights, artificial intelligence, and the future of working class America.
Longtime friends and political allies, Killer Mike and Bernie Sanders reunite on Conversate with Killer Mike for an honest discussion about the growing divide between the wealthy and everyday Americans, the influence of money in politics, and what it will take to build a government that works for everyone.
Bernie doesn't hold back. He challenges the Democratic Party to stand with working families instead of wealthy donors, warns about the growing influence of billionaires, and raises serious concerns about artificial intelligence replacing American workers. Killer Mike brings the conversation home, pressing Bernie on the issues facing Black communities, the importance of voting in local elections, and why urban and rural Americans have more in common than they realize.
From healthcare and economic inequality to war spending, grassroots organizing, and the future of American democracy, this conversation goes beyond political talking points. It's a candid exchange between two longtime allies who believe ordinary people deserve a greater voice in shaping the country's future.
And for anyone who has lost faith in the political process, Bernie offers a powerful reminder: "Despair is not an option."

Representation Does Not Equal Power ft. Rohit Malhotra | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 65
2026/10/14
Who really holds the power in Atlanta, and are the people who built this city benefiting from its success?
On this episode of Conversate with Killer Mike, Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Bear sit down with Rohit Malhotra, founder of the Center for Civic Innovation and candidate for Fulton County Commissioner, District 4, for a candid conversation about Atlanta politics, economic inequality, public safety, and the future of local government.
Rohit shares his journey as the son of Indian immigrants, growing up in a working class family, watching his parents struggle financially, and discovering how public policy shapes people's lives. Those experiences helped inspire his commitment to community organizing and public service.
The conversation turns to some of Atlanta's most pressing challenges. Who benefits from the city's economic growth? Why are longtime Black communities facing displacement? Can universal basic income help working families escape financial insecurity? And why does Fulton County continue to struggle with conditions inside its jail?
Killer Mike challenges Rohit on personal responsibility, child support reform, vocational education, and the balance between helping people and expecting them to help themselves. Bear and Swiff join the discussion as the crew examines what county commissioners actually do, how taxpayer money is spent, and why local elections deserve more attention.
In this episode:
• Atlanta's changing political landscape and the importance of local elections
• Rohit Malhotra's immigrant family background and journey into public service
• Black political representation versus actual economic and community power
• Atlanta's growth, gentrification, and displacement of longtime residents
• Universal basic income, poverty, and Georgia's minimum wage
• Corporate tax incentives and accountability for public spending
• Fulton County's budget and how commissioners influence public services
• Public safety, policing, firefighters, and emergency response
• The Fulton County Jail, constitutional rights, and criminal justice reform
• Child support, workforce development, and opportunities through skilled trades
• Surveillance cameras, privacy concerns, and Atlanta's growing data center industry
From the legacy of Atlanta's civil rights leaders to the decisions shaping its future, this conversation explores what meaningful public service looks like and whether government is delivering for the people it represents.

Who Controls Georgia’s Food? ft. Katherine E. Juhan-Arnold | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 64
2026/10/07
What happens when Georgia loses its farms, its farmland and its ability to feed itself?
Killer Mike and Cutmaster Swiff sit down with Katherine E. Juhan-Arnold, farmer, founder and Democratic candidate for Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, for a conversation about an office most voters may overlook but one that touches everything from the food on your table to the price you pay at the grocery store.
Katherine explains how losing her job led her back to the lessons her grandmother taught her about growing food and eventually to building Baby Katie’s Farm and Kitchen. She breaks down Georgia’s disappearing farms, food deserts, the importance of buying locally, protecting farmland and creating regional food systems that keep more of Georgia’s agricultural economy inside the state.
The conversation also gets into the growing demand for land and water from data centers, opportunities in rural Georgia, agriculture education in schools, Black farmers and heirs property, migrant farm labor, marijuana licensing and why agriculture includes far more than working in a field. Katherine argues that there is a place in the industry for farmers, lawyers, accountants, mechanics, builders, entrepreneurs and the next generation of Georgians.Plus, Katherine gives Killer and Swiff practical advice on what people can start growing at home right now.
Most importantly, the conversation is a reminder to read the entire ballot. The races near the bottom can have a much bigger impact on your everyday life than you realize.

“The Power Is Still With the People” ft. Keisha Lance Bottoms | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 63
2026/09/30
Keisha Lance Bottoms comes home to Atlanta’s West Side for a conversation with Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Bear at Bankhead Seafood.
The former Atlanta mayor and Democratic nominee for Governor of Georgia sits down in the neighborhood that helped raise her to talk about why she wants to lead the state, what she learned as mayor, and why she believes Georgia voters should feel a real difference based on who holds office.
Nothing is off the table. Bottoms discusses Medicaid expansion and hospital closures, affordable housing and protecting legacy residents, responsible gun ownership, education, childcare, small businesses, marijuana laws, and the rising cost of living. She also responds to attacks from her opponent and explains why she believes misinformation and political distractions can keep people from focusing on the issues affecting their everyday lives.
Killer Mike gets personal about his own political apathy, why he believes sitting on the sidelines is a mistake, and what brought him back into the fight. Bottoms also opens up about the pressure of running for governor, the role faith plays in her life, and the lesson she learned from her time as mayor: being strong is not always the same thing as being powerful.
From picking up fish at Bankhead Seafood as a kid to running for the highest office in Georgia, this is a conversation about Atlanta, leadership, working class communities, political power, and what Keisha Lance Bottoms means when she says simply: “I want better.”

Comments for Ossoff | Conversate with Killer Mike
2026/09/26
The comments are open, and Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Bear are answering back.
Following Killer’s conversation with Senator Jon Ossoff, the crew sits down to respond directly to what viewers had to say. Nothing is off limits as they get into healthcare and the cost of medicine, America’s relationship with Israel, reparations, the prison system, Georgia politics, down ballot voting, and some of the criticism aimed directly at Killer.
Killer also talks about why he continues to support Ossoff and Senator Raphael Warnock, where he agrees with the audience’s criticism, and even owns a question he says he dropped the ball on during the original interview. And because this is Conversate, Swiff and Bear make sure things don’t stay serious for too long.

We Read the Comments | Conversate with Killer Mike
2026/09/24
This week on Conversate with Killer Mike, the comments take over.
Killer Mike and Bear sit down with your questions, criticism, suggestions, and a little bit of smoke from the comment section. Nothing is off limits as Mike responds to viewers challenging his takes and pushes the conversation even further.
The discussion moves from Black business ownership and the realities of keeping a business alive to why Mike continues to advocate for trade schools and skilled labor as a path to ownership and financial independence. He explains why supporting Black owned businesses can matter even when you disagree with the people walking through their doors, and why Atlanta needs more spaces where ownership reflects the communities spending the money. The audience also pulls the conversation into politics. Mike talks about the importance of local elections, organizing beyond presidential politics, his relationship with Bernie Sanders, his experience campaigning alongside him, and why political beliefs mean very little without people actually doing the work in their communities. And yes, Mike hears the criticism about asking a question and then answering it himself. He says he is working on it.
From business and politics to trades, activism, Atlanta, and the future of the show, this episode is a conversation with the people who make Conversate possible: you.

How Dope Pedalers Changed Atlanta Cycling | Conversate with Bear
2026/09/23
Bear and Ashley are back for a special episode of Conversate with Bear, diving deeper into Atlanta’s cycling community with Jay Reid, founder of Dope Pedalers.
What started with six Walmart bikes and a few friends riding the Atlanta Beltline grew into hundreds of cyclists showing up every Tuesday and a movement that has reached far beyond Atlanta.
Jay Reid takes Bear and Ashley back to the beginning of Dope Pedalers, from discovering cycling and getting dropped on his first rides to building a community that welcomes beginners, serious road cyclists, fixed gear riders, and everybody in between. He also talks about his days working around Bad Boy Entertainment, how those lessons in marketing and promotion helped him build the Dope Pedalers brand, and why cycling became about much more than bikes.
The conversation gets into the barriers that keep people out of cycling, “bike snobbery,” the forgotten history of Black cyclists like Major Taylor, and why making cycling accessible matters. Jay Reid also explains how the cycling community can create an economic ecosystem where people support businesses, nonprofits, neighborhoods, and each other.
Ashley shares the humbling reality of being a new cyclist, including a 25 mile ride that landed her in the emergency room from dehydration and the group ride that taught her how much she still has to learn. Bear reflects on how Atlanta’s cycling community supported Bear Strong and helped provide essential items to thousands of families.
And, of course, they talk bikes. Fixed gears, $7,000 road bikes, Walmart bikes, hydration, getting dropped by an 84 year old woman, One Love, the Five Boro Bike Tour, and why Jay Reid believes there really is a ride for everybody.
Because for Dope Pedalers, cycling is about fitness, mental health, community, economic empowerment and bringing people together.
“The bike is the solution.”

“It Makes a Difference Who Represents Us” ft. Jon Ossoff | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 62
2026/09/16
Is America becoming an oligarchy? Senator Jon Ossoff’s answer is clear: “Unquestionably.”
Killer Mike sits down with U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff at the SWAG Shop in Atlanta for a candid discussion about money, power, corruption, health care, and an election that could help determine the political future of Georgia and the country.
Ossoff breaks down how billionaire and corporate money influence American politics, why Citizens United helped fuel public distrust, and why he believes working class Americans have far more power than they realize if they actually use it.
Nothing is off the table. Killer Mike and Ossoff get into Georgia’s health care crisis, Medicaid expansion, disappearing hospitals, maternal health, insurance companies denying patients care, and the financial devastation that getting sick can bring to an entire family.
Ossoff also discusses working across the aisle to fight online child exploitation and trafficking, the investigation that uncovered disturbing failures in Georgia’s foster care system, and why bipartisan action is still possible when politicians are willing to do the work.
Then the conversation turns directly to the 2026 election. Killer Mike challenges people to do more than simply cast their own ballot. He calls for people to bring others to the polls, knock on doors, contribute to campaigns, and get young Georgians involved. Ossoff says the Senate seat does not belong to him. It belongs to the people.
The episode closes with Killer Mike and Jon Ossoff reflecting on Congressman John Lewis, the responsibility of citizenship, and Ossoff’s argument that Georgia is facing one of the most consequential elections in America.

Save Yourself Before It’s Too Late ft. OMB Peezy | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 61
2026/09/10
OMB Peezy sits down with Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Bear for an honest conversation about growth, fatherhood, independence, protecting your peace, and learning when it is time to save yourself.
With his deeply personal project Save Yourself marking a new chapter in his life and career, Peezy opens up about growing up between Mobile and Sacramento, his complicated relationship with his father, becoming the kind of father he wants to be, and the lessons that came from getting shot, facing legal trouble, and watching people disappear when life got difficult.
The conversation goes deeper into why boredom can actually be peace, learning to walk away before the streets make the decision for you, communicating as a Black man, breaking generational patterns, and why Peezy believes you cannot help everyone else while your own cup is empty.
Peezy also talks about maintaining his independence in the music industry, resisting pressure to become an artist he is not, the difference between success at 19 and success at 29, ghostwriters, ego in modern hip hop, financial literacy, ownership, and why traveling outside your hometown can completely change the way you see the world.
Plus, Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Bear get into marriage, addiction, golf, family, faith, Atlanta, Alabama, and plenty of the chaos you expect when the four of them get around the table.
This is a conversation about getting older, getting wiser, and understanding that choosing yourself does not make you weak.
Sometimes saving yourself is the strongest thing you can do.

2026/09/10
What does it actually take to build a superstar?Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Courtney “Bear” Sills sit down with legendary music executive Al Branch for a conversation about the business, relationships, and infrastructure behind some of the biggest careers in hip hop.Al takes the crew inside his journey from an unpaid internship to becoming General Manager of Roc A Fella Records at just 22 years old. He shares what it was like helping build Roc A Fella alongside Jay Z, Dame Dash, and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, and why the team surrounding an artist can be just as important as the artist themselves. The conversation gets into Roc A Fella's early days as an underdog, breaking Jay Z in the South, Jermaine Dupri's role in opening Atlanta to Jay, the importance of street teams, artist development, entrepreneurship, and why Al believes today's obsession with analytics can cause the music industry to overlook artists with real potential.Al also reflects on working around Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Cortez Bryant, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, and generations of artists and executives who helped turn hip hop into an economic ecosystem.Killer Mike and Al dig into something even bigger: what happens when hip hop stops investing in its own infrastructure? “The Era of the Superstar Is Over” ft. BLXST | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 59
2026/08/27
BLXST pulls up to the Garage for a real conversation with Killer Mike, Cutmaster Swiff, and Bear about love, fatherhood, vulnerability, independence, and what it takes to make music with soul.
BLXST opens up about growing up in South Central Los Angeles as the only boy surrounded by three older sisters, moving away from his mother as a teenager, finding creativity through isolation, and eventually rebuilding the bond with his mother that they missed during those formative years. He also talks about his relationship with his father, raising two sons of his own, and why showing up every day matters even when love and fatherhood get difficult.
The conversation gets into BLXST’s new album, Labor of Love, and his belief that love is a daily commitment, not just a feeling. He breaks down the vulnerability behind records like “Ruin” and “Home,” including turning the trauma of a home invasion involving his family into art.
Killer Mike reflects on becoming a fan of BLXST before they eventually collaborated on “Exit 9,” while BLXST explains why he has remained independent, why he prefers controlling the creative process from beginning to end, and why he believes the era of the superstar is over.
Then the conversation turns to AI. Can a computer recreate what makes great music human? Killer Mike, Swiff, Bear, and BLXST debate whether AI generated music can ever truly have soul and what happens when a generation grows up listening to music created by machines instead of people.
From South Central to Atlanta, Labor of Love to fatherhood, this is BLXST beyond the records.

Tezlyn Figaro Wants ALL THE SMOKE | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 58
2026/08/21
Tezlyn Figaro returns to Conversate with Killer Mike, and she is not holding back. Tezlyn joins Killer Mike and Cutmaster Swiff to challenge Brandon Tatum to a debate, break down the Nolan Wells case and Ben Crump’s role, and have an unfiltered conversation about Black politics, media, organizing, accountability, and who is actually willing to do the work.
Tezlyn explains why she believes the conversation surrounding Nolan Wells has to move beyond social media commentary and toward understanding the legal and political systems that determine what happens next. She and Killer Mike discuss civil litigation, criminal prosecution, elected officials, the Department of Justice, and why changing outcomes requires understanding who actually holds power.
Then the conversation gets personal. Tezlyn directly addresses Brandon Tatum and explains why she wants to debate him over his commentary surrounding the Nolan Wells case. She also speaks candidly about Candace Owens, conservative media, her experiences debating political opponents, and why she refuses to soften her position simply to gain access to a platform.
Killer Mike and Tezlyn also wrestle with hip hop’s responsibility in politics. They discuss Ice Cube, political organizing, celebrity influence, and why artists cannot simply speak about change without supporting organizers doing the work year round. Tezlyn challenges entertainers to open their platforms, support grassroots organizations, and recognize when someone else needs to carry the political message.
The conversation eventually comes home to Atlanta and Georgia politics, as Killer Mike and Tezlyn debate political unity, public disagreement, tribalism, voting, economic power, government contracts, and what Black communities can accomplish when political participation is connected to organization and ownership. Along the way, Tezlyn shares how her upbringing, military service, business career, and years of political organizing shaped her belief that this work is more than a career. It is a calling.
This is Tezlyn Figaro with no filter, Killer Mike pushing the conversation forward, and Cutmaster Swiff in the room for a conversation about power, politics, loyalty, leadership, and what it means to pick a side.

2026/08/19
In this special episode of Conversate, Bear takes the lead for a conversation about cycling, community, discipline, and the people who helped shape his own journey on two wheels. He sits down with the leadership of the Bonafide Riders Cycle Club to talk about how the Atlanta cycling club grew from just five riders in 2019 into a community built around consistency, safety, accountability, and pushing each other to get better.
Bear shares his own journey, from getting humbled on his first Bonafide ride to completing a 100 mile century ride in honor of his mother. The conversation explores the mental and physical side of cycling, what it takes to become a stronger rider, creating opportunities for new cyclists, and why finding the right community can transform what happens both on and off the bike.
The crew also looks ahead to the One Love Century, the annual Metro Atlanta Cycling Club event that brings thousands of cyclists together for a weekend of riding, fellowship, and support for youth cycling. “If You’re Done With Black People, Be Done” ft. Tezlyn Figaro | Conversate with Killer Mike ep. 57
2026/08/18
Political strategist and commentator Tezlyn Figaro joins Killer Mike for the first time on Conversate for a fiery conversation about Black leadership, political power, accountability, and what it means to stand on principle even when your own community pushes back.
Killer Mike and Tezlyn get into the controversy surrounding Invest Fest and Earn Your Leisure, including why Mike pushed for reconciliation while Tezlyn believes some lines have to be drawn. Tezlyn also responds to Brandon Tatum, challenges him to address the facts surrounding the Nolan Wells case, and explains why she believes there are times when taking the high road is not enough.
The conversation expands into college versus skilled trades, military service, the shortage of Black attorneys, economic opportunity, and the different ways Black Americans can build power and protect their communities. Killer Mike and Tezlyn do not agree on everything, and that is exactly the point. They challenge each other, reconsider their positions, and show what can happen when disagreement is about sharpening the mission instead of winning the argument.
