When Life Pushes You Toward Your Purpose: Science, Spirit, and the Amazon | Maíra Irigaray
2026/10/27
What happens when the life you’ve spent years building no longer feels like the life you’re meant to live? For Maíra Irigaray, that question became the beginning of a profound return to the Amazon rainforest. After seventeen years working in environmental and human rights law, activism, and scientific research, including a PhD studying Indigenous resistance, Maíra stepped away from her established career to follow a path connecting ancestral wisdom, the forest, and spiritual practice. In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Maíra to explore the intersection of science and spirit, her lifelong relationship with ayahuasca, and the importance of approaching plant medicine with discernment, lineage, and care. Together, they explore: 🌿 From Law to the Amazon: How Maíra’s work in human rights, environmental activism, and academia shaped her understanding of the world before she returned to the forest. 🌿 Science Meets the Sacred: What it means to bring scientific inquiry into conversation with ancestral knowledge and spiritual traditions. 🌿 Ayahuasca, Lineage, and Care: Why the context surrounding plant medicine matters, and the importance of thoughtful discernment when considering a ceremonial journey. 🌿 Integration Beyond Ceremony: How do we bring meaningful experiences into everyday life and turn what we learn into lasting personal change? 🌿 Trusting the Unknown: What happens when a major life transition challenges the identity, security, and future we thought we had planned? Maíra’s story invites us to reconsider what purpose looks like. Sometimes, the path forward doesn’t mean building more upon the life we’ve created. Sometimes, it means having the courage to question it, reconnect with what matters, and choose a different direction. This is a conversation about transformation, ancestral wisdom, the natural world, and the responsibility that comes with seeking deeper experiences of ourselves. Beyond the Ordinary: Reconnecting with Nature, Redefining Health, and Living on Your Own Terms | Axay Shah
2026/10/20
What if the life you want begins with questioning the one you've always known? Sometimes, transformation begins when the familiar no longer feels right. For Axay Shah, a personal health crisis prompted him to reconsider the way he lived after more than four decades in the diamond and jewelry industry. That turning point led him toward a different relationship with food, nature, and his own well-being. Today, Axay is the founder of RawFoodiest.com, author of In Nature We Trust: A Raw Food Manifesto for Energy, Healing & Longevity, and a marathon runner who began running at 50. In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Axay to explore the experiences and questions that shaped his transformation. Their conversation moves beyond diet and exercise into something more universal: the courage to question familiar habits, the importance of curiosity, and the freedom to discover what works for you rather than following someone else’s blueprint. Axay also shares a simple perspective on consistency: finding joy in what you do can make it easier to keep showing up. Whether you’re considering a new project, rethinking your daily habits, or wondering what your next chapter might look like, his story offers an invitation to stop waiting for the perfect moment and begin exploring. You don’t need to adopt someone else’s lifestyle to learn from their journey. Sometimes, the most valuable lesson is learning to ask better questions about your own. In this conversation, we explore: * How a personal turning point can lead to an entirely different direction in life * Why starting before you feel completely ready can matter * The role of enjoyment in building lasting consistency * How curiosity can help you understand your own needs and preferences * Why personal growth often requires questioning the status quo * What it means to live more intentionally and reconnect with nature A question to take with you What is one area of your life where you’ve been following the familiar path without stopping to ask whether it still serves you? You don’t have to change everything at once. You can begin with a question, an experiment, or one small decision. Meet Axay Shah Axay Shah is the founder of RawFoodiest.com and author of In Nature We Trust: A Raw Food Manifesto for Energy, Healing & Longevity. He is also a poet, beekeeper, gardener, and marathon runner whose work explores raw, plant-based living and a closer relationship with nature. Turning Pain Into Art: Finding Your Way Through Life on Your Own Terms
2026/10/13
What if the version of yourself you have spent years trying to maintain was never the whole story? In this conversation on Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz welcomes Gabriella Byrne, a Melbourne-based writer, musician, business owner, and professional overthinker who transforms life’s complicated moments into music and writing. Under the name My Own Miracle, Gabriella creates work exploring trauma, identity, motherhood, neurodivergence, and the process of understanding who you are beneath family expectations and social conditioning. Gabriella and Samantha get honest about the experiences that can force us to reconsider everything we thought we knew about ourselves. They explore burnout, the difficulty of resting, the fear of disappointing others, and the realization that constantly putting everyone else first can come at a cost. They also discuss neurodivergence, overstimulation, and the freedom that can come from finding strategies that work with your needs instead of forcing yourself to function like everyone else. One of the most powerful themes in their conversation is the importance of approaching self-discovery slowly. Looking inward can bring difficult feelings to the surface, and meaningful change requires more than simply identifying what hurt us. It asks for curiosity, compassion, and the willingness to question the beliefs we have carried for years. Through music, writing, therapy, and connection, Gabriella has been exploring what belongs to her and what she no longer needs to carry. This conversation is a reminder that becoming yourself is not about having everything figured out. It is about learning to recognize your needs, making room for your own experiences, and treating yourself with the same understanding you so readily offer others. In this conversation, we explore: * How creativity can help transform painful experiences * The search for genuine community and belonging * Family expectations, inherited beliefs, and identity * Why perfectionism and people pleasing can lead to burnout * Learning that rest does not have to be earned * Overthinking, childhood experiences, and self-protection * Neurodivergence, overstimulation, and practical adaptations * How to explore difficult emotions without rushing the process * What meaningful support from friends and family can look like * Why self-compassion matters when you begin to change A question to sit with: How much of who you are today reflects your authentic self, and how much comes from what you learned you needed to be? Meet Gabriella Byrne Gabriella is a writer, musician, and business owner based in Melbourne. She is writing a memoir about growing up in a complicated family and releases music as My Own Miracle. The Patterns That Shape Your Life: Understanding the Stories That Keep Us Stuck | Mary Ann Robbat
2026/09/29
What if you understand exactly what is keeping you stuck, but still can't seem to change it? In this conversation, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Mary Ann Robbat to explore the deeper patterns that can shape our choices, relationships, confidence, purpose, and sense of fulfillment. Mary Ann works with successful, self aware women who have built meaningful lives but still feel stuck in one area. She calls these deeper patterns origin patterns, the beliefs and behaviors that can develop early in life and continue influencing us long after we have become conscious of them. Together, Samantha and Mary Ann explore why awareness alone isn’t always enough to create change. They talk about people pleasing, self care, intuition, purpose, boundaries, comparison, fulfillment, and what happens when we begin questioning the patterns we have been living from. Mary Ann also shares her own journey from having what looked like a successful life on the outside to realizing that something deeper was missing. Through that process, she learned to reconnect with herself, trust her intuition, and create a life that felt more aligned with who she was becoming. One of the central ideas in this conversation is simple: You can recreate your life at any moment. But doing so often means becoming willing to see the patterns that have been keeping you where you are. Mary Ann’s Reveal, Release, Rewire, Rise approach offers a way to begin that process by identifying the pattern, releasing what no longer serves you, creating a new internal imprint, and stepping into a different possibility. In This Conversation • Why success doesn’t always lead to fulfillment• How childhood experiences can shape adult patterns• The connection between people pleasing and self abandonment• Why intuition can signal that something needs to change• Learning to make conscious choices for yourself• Why growth can create friction• Why awareness alone may not be enough• How origin patterns can keep us stuck• Mary Ann’s Reveal, Release, Rewire, Rise framework• What becomes possible when you begin living from a new pattern A Question to Sit With What pattern might be influencing your life today without you realizing it? And what could change if you were willing to see it clearly? What Your Style Says About You: Identity, Confidence, and the Power of Being Seen
2026/09/22
What if personal style isn't really about clothes? What if the way you dress can reveal something about your identity, your confidence, your beliefs, and even your relationship with being seen? In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with NYC-based fashion stylist and image consultant JenniLee, whose more than 20 years of experience have taken her behind the scenes of stages, shoots, sets, and major publications. JenniLee has dressed celebrities and musicians including Rashida Jones, Scarlett Johansson, and Lana Condor, and has styled for Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, and Bloomingdale’s. Today, her work focuses on helping creative and ambitious women navigate major transitions, from career pivots and reinvention to stepping into greater visibility. But this conversation goes much deeper than fashion. JenniLee shares why she believes what you wear is never just fabric. It can become part of the relationship between identity, self-perception, and how we move through the world. Samantha and JenniLee explore the stories we attach to clothing, the desire to belong, the fear of being seen, and what happens when we begin questioning the rules we have unconsciously inherited about how we are supposed to look. They also explore JenniLee’s signature SPARK framework, beginning with self-exploration and asking deeper questions about why we make the style choices we make. In This Conversation • Why getting dressed can be about much more than appearance• How clothing can influence confidence and self-perception• The connection between personal style and identity• Why belonging can influence what we choose to wear• What happens when we become afraid of being seen• How personal beliefs shape our relationship with clothing• JenniLee’s SPARK framework and the importance of self-exploration• Why “More Styling, Less Shopping” can change the way you approach your closet• Dressing through career changes, reinvention, and new seasons of life• How intentional style can help us express who we are becoming At its heart, this is a conversation about becoming more conscious of the person you’re already expressing. Your closet can hold old identities, old expectations, old rules, and old versions of yourself. But it can also become a place to experiment. To play. To reconnect. To become visible again. And sometimes, transformation starts with something as simple as getting dressed differently. About JenniLee JenniLee is a NYC-based fashion stylist and image consultant with more than 20 years of experience working with celebrities, musicians, creative professionals, and everyday women. Her philosophy, “More Styling, Less Shopping,” focuses on helping clients dress from the inside out rather than trying to solve personal style through buying more clothes. Your Body, Mind, and Soul Are Connected: Rethinking What It Means to Be Human | Umesh Chhikara
2026/09/15
What if health is not about fixing separate parts of ourselves, but learning how the whole system works together? We spend a remarkable amount of time trying to understand ourselves in pieces. We have fitness for the body.Nutrition for what we eat.Therapy for the mind.Meditation for stillness.Spirituality for something deeper. But what if these were never meant to be separate? What if the body, brain, mind, and spirit are all communicating within one interconnected system? That question sits at the heart of Umesh Chhikara’s work and his book, Wiring to Wisdom: A Guide to the Human Operating System. In this conversation on Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Umesh, a sports scientist, researcher, and author whose work brings together physiology, neuroscience, biomechanics, metabolism, psychology, movement, and spirituality. His journey did not begin with a grand theory. It began with questions. Why were people getting injured while trying to become healthier? Why were people who seemed to be doing everything “right” still becoming sick? Why did understanding fitness lead to rehabilitation, then nutrition, then metabolic health, the cardiovascular system, and eventually the brain and mind? One question kept leading to another. And eventually, the separate pieces began to look less separate. Health Is More Than the Absence of a Problem One of the most interesting ideas in the conversation is the distinction between balance and equilibrium. We often think health means keeping everything perfectly balanced. But human beings are not static systems. We are constantly adapting. We move.We rest.We experience stress. We recover. We eat.We think. We respond to our environment. Life is constantly placing demands on us, and our bodies are constantly responding. Umesh describes health through this lens of equilibrium. Rather than obsessing over one isolated variable, we can begin asking a more useful question: Is the whole system adapting well to what life is asking of it? That changes the way we think about health. Instead of constantly asking what we need to add, fix, optimize, or control, we can begin asking what our system is actually communicating. Your Body Is Talking. Are You Listening? At one point, the conversation turns toward something surprisingly simple: learning to listen to the body. Samantha shares her own experience of realizing that rest was not the opposite of progress. For a long time, her instinct had been to keep going. Rest felt like wasted time. But listening changed the equation. Sometimes the body needs movement. Sometimes it needs recovery. Sometimes it needs challenge. Sometimes it needs stillness. The deeper lesson is not that one approach is always right. It is that health requires communication. Your body is giving you information all the time. The question is whether you have become so accustomed to outside voices that you can no longer hear it. Social media tells us what to eat. Fitness culture tells us how much to exercise. Influencers tell us which supplements we need. Experts tell us what our bodies should look like. And somewhere underneath all of that noise is the body itself, still communicating. Spirituality Is Not Separate From Health This is where the conversation becomes especially interesting. For Umesh, spirituality is not simply a religious practice or something added onto an otherwise healthy lifestyle. It is part of understanding ourselves. He describes spirituality as something to be lived rather than merely practiced. That can mean learning to become still enough to observe your own thoughts. Not every thought needs to become a command. Not every craving needs to become an action. Not every fear needs to become a decision. There is a profound shift that happens when you can watch what is happening inside you without immediately identifying with it. You begin to create space between the thought and the response. And that space can change everything. Meditation Is a Tool, Not the Destination Umesh offers another perspective that challenges the way meditation is often presented. Meditation can be incredibly useful, but he questions what happens when we treat it as something we simply do for a few minutes and then leave behind. The purpose, in his view, is not merely to sit in a meditative state. It is to learn something about how the mind works. Then take that understanding into the rest of your life. The real practice begins when you are no longer sitting quietly. When someone frustrates you. When anxiety appears. When you want something immediately. When your mind starts repeating an old story. When a craving feels impossible to resist. Can you remain conscious in those moments? Can you observe what is happening instead of automatically becoming it? That may be where meditation becomes less of a ritual and more of a way of living. What We Restrict Can Become What We Obsess Over The conversation eventually moves into food, restriction, cravings, and the relationship between the conscious and unconscious mind. Umesh describes his own approach as flexible rather than restrictive. He does not believe health requires creating endless lists of forbidden foods. In fact, Samantha and Umesh explore how telling yourself that you can never have something can sometimes make the mind focus on that very thing even more. There is an important distinction here. Listening to yourself does not mean blindly giving the mind everything it asks for. It means creating a conscious relationship with what is happening inside you. You can acknowledge the desire. You can understand where it is coming from. You can decide what actually serves you. That is very different from either rigid control or mindless indulgence. It is communication. It is awareness. It is choice. The Goal Is Not to Control Yourself. It Is to Understand Yourself. This may be one of the most important ideas in the entire conversation. So much of modern wellness is built around control. Control your food. Control your weight. Control your schedule. Control your thoughts. Control your emotions. Control your body. But what if a healthier relationship with ourselves begins somewhere else? Understanding. What does your body need? What does your mind tend to do under stress? What patterns have you learned? What beliefs are operating beneath your conscious awareness? What is your environment asking of you? What are you carrying that you no longer need? The more clearly you understand the system, the less you may need to fight against it. Befriend Your Soul Near the end of the conversation, Umesh offers the idea that perhaps the first relationship we need to develop is the relationship with ourselves. His advice is simple: Befriend your soul. Not in an abstract or mystical way. Understand yourself. Understand your needs. Understand your problems. Understand your mind. Understand your culture. Understand your environment. Understand what is coming at you. Then, he says, find your “soulmate in self.” There is something powerful about that idea. We spend so much of our lives trying to find the right answers outside ourselves. The right diet. The right workout. The right expert. The right routine. The right philosophy. But perhaps wisdom begins when we become curious enough about ourselves to understand the system we are actually living in. What Does It Mean to Be Human? That is ultimately the question Samantha and Umesh are exploring from different directions. Not simply: How do we become healthier? But: How do we understand what it means to be human? Maybe the answer is not found by separating the body from the mind, or science from spirituality, or biology from consciousness. Maybe it comes from learning how they interact. The body is not separate from the mind. The mind is not separate from the nervous system. Our habits do not exist independently of our environment. Our physical health does not exist independently of how we think, feel, rest, move, relate, and respond. We are systems within systems. And perhaps becoming healthier is not about mastering every individual part. Perhaps it is about learning to listen to the whole. That is the invitation behind Wiring to Wisdom. Not to become a perfect human being. But to become a more conscious participant in the human being you already are. About Umesh Chhikara Umesh Chhikara is a sports scientist, researcher, author, and synthesizer of knowledge across human physiology, neuroscience, biomechanics, metabolism, and spirituality. His work explores how different dimensions of human experience come together to influence health, performance, resilience, and wisdom. Your Body Is Not the Enemy: Rethinking Health, Beauty, and Body Liberation | Paula D. Atkinson
2026/09/08
What if the body you've spent years trying to control, criticize, change, or fix was never the problem? In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Paula D. Atkinson, a liberation focused psychotherapist, educator, speaker, and advocate whose work challenges conventional ideas about health, body image, eating disorders, and wellness. Paula has spent nearly two decades working with people experiencing disordered eating, food obsession, exercise addiction, and body hatred through a weight neutral, anti diet, body liberation approach. She also taught the history of fat phobia, eating disorders, and body fascism as a professor of Weight & Society at George Washington University. This conversation goes far beyond body image. Samantha and Paula explore how we learned to associate thinness with health, appearance with worth, and control with virtue. They question the cultural and economic systems that teach us to treat our bodies as problems to solve, and they explore what can happen when we stop fighting our bodies and begin listening to them. Paula also shares her own journey from childhood body shame and anorexia to discovering a deeper sense of peace, freedom, and sanity around food and her body. At the heart of the conversation is a powerful idea: Your body is on your side. ✨ In This Episode: • Paula’s personal journey from body shame and anorexia to body liberation• Why fatness and thinness are not measures of character or worth• How beauty standards have changed throughout history• The connection between body ideals, capitalism, racism, misogyny, and control• Why the concept of “healthy” can become another form of pressure• The difference between physical health and true wellbeing• Why your body may be communicating rather than punishing you• How diet culture keeps people trapped in restriction and shame• Why extreme body control can create obsession around food and weight• The relationship between health, pleasure, joy, and freedom• How body image can affect relationships and parenting• Why shame does not create sustainable change• Weight stigma and the experience of navigating healthcare• The history behind weight being treated as a measure of health• Health at Every Size and weight neutral healthcare• Why diet culture can feel like a cult after years of conditioning• The idea of “infinite permission” and why permission creates choice• Learning to tolerate the discomfort of changing deeply ingrained beliefs• Why sustainable change requires patience, grace, and trust• Letting go of the plan for future restriction• Reconnecting with intuition and the wisdom of the body• What it means to stop abandoning yourself• Paula’s powerful definition of what it means to “Shine In & Out” ⏱️ Chapters ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Welcome to Shine In & Out 01:50 Paula’s Journey Into Body Liberation 05:24 From “Healthy Weight” to Body Justice 07:06 The History of Fat Phobia 08:06 How Beauty Standards Shape Body Ideals 11:04 When Body Size Becomes a Measure of Worth 14:09 What History Reveals About Beauty 17:14 When Health Becomes Unhealthy 19:19 Physical Health and Mental Health 21:05 Your Body Is Not Working Against You 23:24 The Problem With Controlling the Body 27:42 Body Fascism and Impossible Ideals 29:40 How Diet Culture Creates the Cycle 33:08 The Wisdom of the Body 34:29 How Paula’s Beliefs Transformed 35:20 Feminist Rage and Reclaiming the Body 38:09 Beauty Is Subjective 39:28 Pleasure, Food, and Enjoying Life 41:33 Perfectionism and Self Judgment 44:20 Why Shame Does Not Create Health 47:05 Parenting and the Mirror Effect 48:24 Relationships as Mirrors 49:08 The Cost of Hiding Your Authentic Self 50:22 Body Liberation and Healthcare 53:55 Where Weight Charts Came From 54:33 Escaping Diet Culture 56:27 Infinite Permission and Choice 58:41 Why Real Change Takes Time 1:00:14 Eating Disorders Across the Weight Spectrum 1:01:07 Defining Health for Yourself 1:03:07 Permission, Pleasure, and Trust 1:04:14 Why Letting Go of Restriction Feels Scary 1:05:30 The Restriction, Binge, Shame Cycle 1:06:31 Love Instead of Discipline 1:07:03 Why Abundance Changes Our Relationship With Food 1:09:12 Learning to Trust Your Body 1:10:11 Releasing the Programming 1:11:06 Your Body Knows More Than You Think 1:12:24 Your Body Has Never Abandoned You 1:13:00 What Does It Mean to Shine In & Out? 1:14:16 Samantha’s Closing Reflection 🎙️ About Paula D. Stop Chasing More: How to Create a Life That Actually Fulfills You
2026/09/01
What if the life that looks successful on the outside still doesn't feel fulfilling on the inside? In this episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Dr. Judith Wright, inspirational speaker, world class coach, best selling and award winning author, and founder of LiveWright, to explore what it really means to create a fulfilling life. Dr. Wright shares how her own dissatisfaction with constantly striving for more became the starting point for decades of research and work around human potential, fulfillment, and personal transformation. Together, Samantha and Dr. Wright explore why achieving the next promotion, award, accomplishment, or goal does not necessarily create lasting fulfillment. They discuss "soft addictions," including overworking, scrolling, over eating, over busyness, and other seemingly harmless habits we can use to distract ourselves or seek relief. The conversation also explores the difference between striving to prove yourself and pursuing something because it is genuinely connected to your passion and purpose. Samantha and Dr. Wright talk about defining your own values, making small decisions that align with those values, questioning automatic thoughts, understanding your emotional reactions, discovering your purpose, and learning to treat yourself with greater compassion. Because transformation doesn't always happen through one dramatic decision. Sometimes it happens through one small choice at a time. ✨ In This Episode: • Why success and achievement don't always lead to fulfillment• The difference between relief, distraction, and genuine fulfillment• What "soft addictions" are and how they can keep us from what we really want• Why we keep chasing the next accomplishment• How perfectionism can keep us from fully living• The importance of defining your own values and your own version of success• How small decisions can create meaningful transformation over time• Why your thoughts are not necessarily a reflection of who you are• How triggers and reactions can reveal parts of ourselves we haven't fully integrated• Why discovering your purpose requires experimentation and a willingness to make mistakes• The importance of allowing yourself to feel your emotions• How self compassion can change the way you relate to yourself• Why caring for yourself can help you have more to give to others• Creating a life that feels authentic, purposeful, and deeply fulfilling ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Introduction & The Search for a Fulfilling Life06:08 When Dissatisfaction Becomes a Turning Point08:00 Striving, Achievement & Authentic Success10:33 The Problem With Chasing the Next Thing10:50 Understanding Soft Addictions24:34 Creating Your Own Definition of Success29:01 The One Decision That Can Change Your Direction31:08 Values, Meaning & What Really Matters32:22 The Power of Small Steps33:16 Your Thoughts Are Not You36:45 Questioning Fear & Automatic Thoughts38:17 The Brain, Change & Neuroplasticity45:57 How Other People Can Become Mirrors46:40 Triggers, Judgment & Disowned Parts56:44 Staying Open to Different Perspectives60:51 Allowing Yourself to Feel62:00 Discovering Your Gifts & Purpose65:18 Learning Through Mistakes67:07 Self Care & Putting Yourself Back on the List69:02 The Power of Self Compassion71:03 Finding Your Own Way to Live Your Purpose72:34 Creating a Fulfilling Life73:42 Recognizing Your Own Preciousness 🎙️ About Dr. Judith Wright Dr. Judith Wright, known as "America's Ultimate Expert" by Woman's World Magazine, is an inspirational force in personal and professional development. What Men Are Really Hungry For: Beyond Strength, Success & Masculinity |Paul Hennessy
2026/08/18
What are men actually hungry for beneath the pressure to be strong, successful, capable, and in control? In this powerful episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with Paul Hennessy, a Jungian embodiment coach who helps capable men become their own men and live from a genuine sense of “this is who I am, this is what I want.” Together, Samantha and Paul explore the expectations that can shape a man's identity—and what happens when those expectations begin to feel disconnected from who he actually is. The conversation goes beyond traditional ideas of masculinity and self-improvement, exploring parental conditioning, self-sabotage, vulnerability, authenticity, emotional depth, purpose, and individuation. You Were Never Broken: Why Self-Improvement Isn't the Answer |Jo Kelly
2026/08/04
What if the person you've been trying so hard to become has been within you all along? In this deeply moving episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with experiential guide, filmmaker, and human potential advocate Jo Kelly to explore authenticity, self-improvement, conditioning, human connection, emotional healing, instinct, creativity, presence, joy, resilience, and what it truly means to come home to yourself. Rather than teaching people how to become someone new, Jo invites us to question one of society's biggest assumptions—that we are somehow broken and constantly need fixing. Together, Samantha and Jo explore how lifelong conditioning disconnects us from our instincts, emotions, creativity, and authentic expression, and why genuine transformation begins not by adding more, but by remembering who we've always been. Drawing from her own journey—including dancing publicly throughout cancer treatment and directing the documentary Why Isn't Everyone Dancing? —Jo shares a powerful perspective on reclaiming joy, embracing uncertainty, and reconnecting with the aliveness that exists beneath fear, performance, and perfectionism. If you've ever felt trapped by the pressure to constantly improve yourself, this conversation offers a refreshing invitation to stop striving and start living. ✨ In This Episode: • Why self-improvement isn't always the path to transformation• How conditioning disconnects us from our true nature• Remembering who you are instead of trying to become someone else• Why instinct, emotion, and authenticity matter more than perfection• Dancing through cancer and choosing joy in the hardest moments• The importance of creativity, play, and movement in healing• Why uncertainty can become one of life's greatest teachers• Reconnecting with nature, presence, and meaningful human experiences• The future of humanity in an increasingly disconnected world• Living with greater freedom, courage, and aliveness every day 🎙️ About Jo Kelly Jo Kelly creates experiential journeys, immersive workshops, and films that explore what happens when people move beyond conditioning and reconnect with instinct, freedom, truth, and their innate humanity. Originally known for helping artists move from resistance to creative freedom, her work has evolved into a broader mission of rehumanizing people in a world increasingly disconnected from emotion, nature, authentic expression, and genuine human connection. Following her experience of dancing publicly throughout cancer treatment to reconnect with joy and aliveness, Jo began directing the documentary Why Isn't Everyone Dancing?, exploring what becomes possible when we reclaim movement, community, and our shared humanity. 🌐 Connect with Jo Kelly: Website: https://www.tobeornottoact.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tobeornottoact_jokelly Documentary Website: https://www.whyisnteveryonedancing.com/ Documentary Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whyisnteveryonedancing 🌐 Connect with Samantha Stoltz: Coaching & Courses: https://www.shineinandoutcoaching.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/samantha.stoltz.16 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/samanthaarcherstoltz Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/samanthastoltz TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sammy.stoltz Podcast (Better Every Day): https://open.spotify.com/show/ 🎧 Explore More Transformational Episodes: https://youtu.be/UWTHu_rDqUc https://youtu.be/6iHFuhgesxI https://youtu.be/obw4EQ9U0Vw https://youtu.be/gdjxaXyrHMo https://youtu.be/CcnSaztqDr0 https://youtu.be/Q9McD_5DUQU 🔔 Never Miss an Update Subscribe Here:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCORDiua_MvOYfpvFSo25g8w?sub_confirmation=1 💖 Spread the Love If this conversation inspired you, share it with someone who may need the reminder that they were never broken to begin with. What Is Consciousness? A Physicist Explains the Biggest Mystery of Reality | James B. Glattfelder
2026/07/28
What if consciousness doesn't emerge from the brain—but instead gives rise to reality itself? In this fascinating episode of Shine In & Out, Samantha Stoltz sits down with complexity scientist, theoretical physicist, and author James B. Glattfelder to explore consciousness, reality, metaphysical idealism, complexity science, philosophy, meaning, human perception, and the profound questions that sit at the intersection of science and spirituality. Drawing from his background in theoretical physics and his exploration of consciousness through complexity science and metaphysical idealism, James challenges conventional assumptions about the nature of reality. Together, he and Samantha discuss why modern science still struggles to explain consciousness, whether reality is fundamentally mental rather than material, and how expanding our worldview may help us better understand ourselves and the world we inhabit. If you've ever wondered whether consciousness is more than a product of the brain—or whether reality itself is far stranger than we've been taught—this conversation offers a thought-provoking exploration that bridges science, philosophy, and human experience. ✨ In This Episode: • What consciousness really is—and why it's still one of science's greatest mysteries • Could consciousness be more fundamental than matter? • The limitations of materialism and modern scientific thinking • Understanding metaphysical idealism in simple terms • Complexity science and the emergence of reality • Why meaning cannot be reduced to physical processes alone • The relationship between science, philosophy, and spirituality • How altered states of consciousness can expand our understanding of reality • The crisis of consciousness in today's world • Why curiosity may be our greatest tool for discovering truth 🎙️ About James B. Glattfelder James B. Glattfelder is a complexity scientist, theoretical physicist, quantitative researcher, and author whose work explores the foundations of reality, consciousness, and the emergence of meaning through the lens of metaphysical idealism. He is the author of Information–Consciousness–Reality and The Sapient Cosmos, and his research has been featured internationally. Through his writing and public speaking, James invites audiences to rethink the relationship between consciousness, science, and the nature of existence. 🌐 Connect with James B.
