Continuing the Discussion on Self Expression
2026/09/30
As they continue the discussion on self-expression, Dr. Jerry and Christina offer great insights from their own parenting and professional experiences. We all want our children to grow up to be healthy, respectful adults. Dr. Jerry and Christina explain that letting our kids explore their identity through clothing and music is part of that process; even if we might feel like our kids' choices aren’t what we would make. Trying new ways of expressing is such an important part of identity formation, and it’s our job as parents to help our kids find out who they’re going to be.     More from Dr. Jerry Weichman   Podcast Website: raisingfamiliespodcast.com   Website: drjerryweichman.com   Instagram: @drjerryweichman   YouTube: @RaisingFamilieswithDrJW   TikTok: @drjerryweichman  LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jerry-weichman-ph-d   Facebook: facebook.com/drjerryweichman    Clinic: theweichmanclinic.com    This is a Redd Rock Music Podcast   IG: @reddrockmusic   www.reddrockmusic.com    The content in this video is intended for educational, informational, and entertainment purposes only. Should You Worry About What Your Child Wears And Listens To?
2026/09/28
As our kids enter adolescence, they enter a key period of identity formation. Part of this identity forming process is trying on all different styles of presenting themselves; especially clothes and music. Some of the choices our kids make while they learn to express themselves might make us as parents feel uncomfortable or even embarrassed. Today, Dr. Jerry walks us through how to navigate this time in our children’s lives. He reminds us that as long as our children are safe, it’s our job as parents to support them through all the phases they might go through on their journey to finding their true selves.      Don’t forget to subscribe to the show as our discussion on the subject has only just begun.
