Have you ever experienced a closed door, painful setback, or rejection that made you question God's plan for your life? I've discovered that sometimes the greatest temptation isn't just giving up on a dream—it's giving up on ourselves AND OUR DIVINE PURPOSE. I remember feeling called to serve God at just five years old. In my teens, I ministered in prisons and orphanages, and later attended Bible College with my husband, Kevin. I knew I was called to change the world and lead others to Jesus. But disappointment came. After being placed as associate pastors, I discovered that my desire to minister wasn't “allowed” because I was a woman. After months of being overlooked, my passion began to fade. I eventually left that church, returned to college, pursued a Psychology degree, and decided not to pursue ministry. Broken and bruised, I entered higher learning trying to figure out where I could find my purpose and destiny. I had the potential but not the favor. But God met me there. He brought teachers who helped me discover His healing power and reminded me that I was created for greatness. They showed me that God's plan for me was bigger than the limitations others had placed on me. Looking back, I can see that this disappointment produced fruit I never expected. Experiencing rejection, comparison, and emotional pain helped equip me to understand and encourage others. Your disappointment does not have the final word—God does.

In this episode, I share what an Ironman race taught me about training for reigning in life and what it means to prepare ourselves to go the distance with God. Just like athletes train with intention, we’re called to develop our spiritual, emotional, relational, and creative “muscles” as we pursue the calling He has placed on our lives. Surround Them With Healthy Community Isolation is often the enemy's playground. Connection creates protection. Here is a declaration prayer that youth can pray over their lives to help them also build resilience: Father God, I declare that I am created in Your image and formed with purpose. I am not an accident. I am God's workmanship, created for good works. I am deeply loved, fully accepted, and completely chosen by God. I refuse to be defined by fear, rejection, comparison, failure, bullying, or the opinions of others. I am a son/daughter of the King. I have been given power, love, and a sound mind. God has a plan for my life and a destiny that will impact others for His Kingdom. I will walk in courage like David. I will rise in faith like Gideon. I will answer God's call like Jeremiah. I will stand firm in truth like Daniel. The Presence of God goes before me. The favor of God surrounds me. The Spirit of God empowers me. I am strong. I am chosen. I am equipped. I am resilient.
