She claims her neighbor agreed to watch her dog and her jewelry, but that when she came back, the neighbor claimed it all as her own. Now she wants her money, and her dog, back. Judy’s going to if she gets it and we’re going to have to decide if Judy did her job or not. Did she really, truly deliver justice? Not just to the plaintiff and to the defendant, but to all of us! When things were over, she gave him a check that covered some of the cost of the ring, but not the ring itself. She says she deserved some of the money herself both because she worked hard to find the ring and she owed her boss a kickback for helping her get it. The plaintiff says that since he can’t get the ring back, he wants to be paid in full.  Meanwhile, our second case has an elderly woman complaining the dog that she bought to breed didn’t come as promised because it’s missing a toe. Her claim is that now she won’t able to get more puppies out of it. The breeder says he’s more than happy to pay her back; but only if he gets the dog back. Judy’s going to have to decide who gets paid and who doesn’t. We’re going to have to decide whether Judy delivered justice. If so, she’s innocent.  But if not, she’s guilty. There’s also the matter of the defendant’s boyfriend cheating on her and not wearing pants in the courtroom, but we’ll let Judy sort out that mess! All of this, of course, leads up to the most important part of the show: when we get to Judge Judy. Because Judy shouldn’t be the only one making a ruling! However, just six days after she moved in with him, they were on the outs and she found herself with no job and no where to live. She wants to be compensated for upending her life. I can confirm, he is a creep, but the judge will have to decide if that’s grounds for him not getting back his stuff. After all that, it’s up to us to pass judgement on the judge herself. Frankly speaking, I’d rather judge if she’s out of her mind for trying to hard to make this relationship a thing again, but that’s not what we’re here to do.  Our task is simple: examine whether Judy delivered justice. Was the show entertaining? Did her ruling make sense? Did she behave herself? We roll all of those questions, and more, up to come to a ruling of our own: innocence or guilty.
