Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ COMING HOME — WEEK 4 OF 4: RETURN This guided practice is the final part of our four-week Coming Home series. This week, we explore RETURN — bringing together the practices of arriving, noticing, and connecting as we remember that we can return to ourselves again and again. For the moments when you've been moving quickly, thinking, doing, caring, working — or simply feeling a little far away from yourself. This gentle guided somatic meditation brings together grounding, supportive touch, breath, movement, and body awareness to create a little space to pause, listen, and reconnect. Not to force your nervous system into a particular state. Not to make yourself calm. But to notice what is here, listen for what you might need, and gently return to yourself. ✨ In this guided practice, we’ll explore: • Orienting to the environment around you • Feeling the support beneath your body • Grounding through your feet and physical contact • Supportive self-touch • Natural breath awareness and an optional longer exhale • Gentle rocking and swaying • Moving between movement and stillness • Noticing what your body may need in this moment • Returning to both inner and outer awareness 🌿 A gentle reminder: Returning to yourself doesn't mean you never become disconnected. It doesn't mean you're always calm. And it doesn't mean you always know what you need. Returning is the practice. Again and again. One breath. One sensation. One small moment of awareness at a time. 🎧 Explore this week’s Foundations episode For a deeper understanding of this week’s theme, listen to Coming Home: Week 4 — RETURN | What Nervous System Regulation Really Means, where we explore regulation not as staying perfectly calm, but as our capacity to respond, adapt, listen, and return. 🪷 Continue your practice inside Inner Haven The Inner Haven Practice + Resource Libraries are there whenever you'd like a little more support returning to yourself. IHF - What Nervous System Regulation Really Means
2026/10/26
Looking for more space to practice? Explore the Inner Haven Practice Library, featuring 45+ on-demand somatic practices, gentle yoga, restorative movement, and guided meditations to explore at your own pace. Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ This episode is the final part of our four-week Coming Home series. If you're new here, you may want to begin with Week 1: ARRIVE and move through the series slowly, in your own time. What does it actually mean to regulate your nervous system? Nervous system regulation is often talked about as though the goal is to become calm — and stay calm. But your nervous system isn't designed to remain in one perfectly peaceful state all day. It is designed to respond, adapt, and change. In this Inner Haven Foundations episode, we explore a different way of thinking about nervous system regulation — not as perfect calm, but as developing greater awareness of our changing states and discovering what may help us return. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • Why nervous system regulation doesn't mean being calm all the time • How the nervous system naturally responds to stress and changes around us • Why activation isn't automatically a sign that something has gone wrong • How regulation can include movement, rest, connection, breath, nourishment, or time • Why the same regulation practice may not feel supportive every day • How body awareness can give us more choice in responding to what we need • Why returning — rather than staying perfectly regulated — is at the heart of this work 🌿 This week’s invitation: Throughout this month, we've explored a simple rhythm: ARRIVE. Come back into the body. NOTICE. Become curious about what is here. CONNECT. Listen to the sensations and signals your body is communicating. RETURN. Remember that you can come back to yourself again and again. You don't need to stay perfectly connected to yourself. You don't need to prevent stress, overwhelm, frustration, or difficult days. Sometimes returning begins with something very small. Your feet on the floor. One breath. A gentle stretch. Looking around the room. Or simply asking: What do I need right now? You may know the answer. You may not. Either way, you've created a moment to listen. 🎧 Continue with this week’s guided practice Pair this episode with Return to Yourself, this week's guided somatic meditation bringing together the awareness, sensation, breath, and gentle practices we've explored throughout our Coming Home series. 🪷 Continue your practice inside Inner Haven The Inner Haven Practice + Resource Libraries are there whenever you'd like a little more support returning to yourself. Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ 🌿 COMING HOME — WEEK 3 OF 4: CONNECT This guided practice is part of our four-week Coming Home series. This week, we explore CONNECT — gently listening to the language of the body through sensation, movement, and choice. What might you notice when you give your body space to move, feel, and respond? In this gentle guided somatic practice, we explore connection through sensation and movement — without needing to interpret, analyze, or understand every signal your body sends. Through simple movements, supportive touch, pressure, rocking, and moments of stillness, you’ll have an opportunity to notice the subtle ways your body communicates with you. There is no right way to experience this practice. You are simply invited to listen. ✨ In this guided practice, we’ll explore: • Orienting and connecting with the space around you • Using the hands to explore warmth, contact, and sensation • Gentle movement to notice effort and release • Rocking and rhythmic movement • Pressure and muscle engagement • Noticing the sensations that remain after movement • Following your body's natural desire for movement or stillness • Practicing choice as part of body connection 🌿 A gentle reminder: The language of your body isn't something you need to master. You don't need to understand every sensation or decide what every signal means. Sometimes connection begins simply by asking: What sensation is easiest for me to notice right now? Or: Is there a movement my body would enjoy? Then giving yourself space to listen. One sensation. One movement. One moment at a time. 🎧 Explore this week’s Foundations episode For a deeper understanding of this week’s theme, listen to Coming Home: Week 3 — CONNECT | Learning the Language of Your Body, where we explore body sensations, the difference between sensation and interpretation, and how curiosity can help us develop a deeper relationship with our body's signals. 🪷 Continue your practice inside Inner Haven The Inner Haven Practice + Resource Libraries offer a growing collection of somatic practices, guided meditations, gentle movement, restorative yoga, breathwork, nervous system education, workbooks, and supportive resources. IHF - The Language of Body Sensations | Learning to Listen to Your Body
2026/10/19
Looking for more space to practice? Explore the Inner Haven Practice Library, featuring 45+ on-demand somatic practices, gentle yoga, restorative movement, and guided meditations to explore at your own pace. Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ The Language of Body Sensations | Learning to Listen to Your Body What is your body communicating through sensation? In this Inner Haven Foundations episode, we explore the language of body sensations — and how becoming more curious about what we physically feel can help us develop a deeper connection with ourselves. Warm. Cool. Heavy. Light. Tight. Soft. Tingling. Restless. Still. Our bodies are communicating with us throughout the day, but we often move quickly from sensation into interpretation: I’m anxious. I’m stressed. I’m overwhelmed. Somatic awareness offers another possibility. Instead of immediately asking, “What does this mean?” we can gently begin with: “What does this feel like?” ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • How physical sensations can become part of our body’s language • The difference between noticing a sensation and interpreting it • Why the same sensation doesn’t necessarily mean the same thing for everyone • How to describe sensations with greater curiosity and less judgment • Why body awareness includes comfort, ease, pleasure, and neutrality — not only discomfort • How noticing sensations can create more space for choice 🌿 This week’s invitation: Experiment with moving from judgment toward description. Instead of: “My body is so tense.” You might notice: “There is tightness across my shoulders.” Instead of immediately trying to understand why something is happening, you might simply become curious about what you feel. Where do I notice it? Is it warm or cool? Still or moving? Soft or tight? You don’t need to ask every question or understand every signal. Sometimes simply noticing is enough. 🎧 Continue with this week’s guided practice Pair this episode with this week’s guided somatic meditation, created to help you gently reconnect with your body through sensation, breath, and awareness — without needing to interpret, fix, or change what you find. 🪷 Explore the Inner Haven Practice + Resource Libraries If you’d like to explore the language of your body more deeply, the Inner Haven Practice and Resource Libraries offer somatic practices, guided meditations, gentle movement, restorative yoga, breathwork, nervous system education, workbooks, and supportive resources. This week, we explore NOTICE — becoming curious about what is happening in the body without immediately needing to change what we find. What happens when we simply notice before we try to fix? In this gentle guided somatic meditation, you’ll be invited to slow down and explore the sensations already present in your body with curiosity, choice, and care. We often notice tension or discomfort and immediately wonder: How do I make this go away? How do I relax? How do I feel better? This practice offers something different. For a few moments, we simply listen. ✨ In this guided practice, we’ll explore: • Orienting to the space around you • Feeling the support beneath your body • Slowly noticing sensations throughout different areas of the body • Exploring warmth, pressure, tension, movement, and other sensations • Noticing areas that feel comfortable, pleasant, or neutral • Allowing comfort and discomfort to exist at the same time • Asking what might feel supportive without needing an immediate answer 🌿 A gentle reminder: You don't need to notice everything. You don't need to understand every sensation. And you don't need to change what you find. You are always in choice here. You can move, adjust, open your eyes, turn your attention outward, skip something, or stop whenever you need. Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ Body Awareness | Interoception, Proprioception & Learning to Notice What are we actually noticing when we turn our attention toward the body? In this Inner Haven Foundations episode, we explore body awareness — the ability to notice sensations, movement, position, and the many signals that shape our physical experience from moment to moment. Your nervous system is constantly receiving information from both inside your body and the world around you. You might notice your breath, heartbeat, hunger, temperature, muscle tension, energy, comfort, or the feeling of your feet meeting the ground. We’ll also gently explore two important parts of body awareness: interoception and proprioception — and how they help us understand what is happening within and through the body. But body awareness isn’t only about noticing more. It’s also about developing more choice in how we respond to what we notice. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • What body awareness means in somatic practice • What interoception is and how it helps us notice internal signals • What proprioception is and how it relates to movement and body position • How our senses give us information about the world around us • Why we don’t need to analyze or assign meaning to every sensation • How awareness and choice work together in somatic practice • What to do when turning your attention inward feels uncomfortable or overwhelming 🌿 This week’s invitation: Every so often, you might gently ask yourself: What am I noticing right now? Maybe you notice warmth. Your breath moving. Your feet against the floor. Tension somewhere in your body. A feeling of comfort. Or perhaps you don’t notice much at all. There is nothing you need to analyze, fix, or understand. Simply notice what is here. 🎧 Continue with this week’s guided practice Pair this episode with this week’s guided somatic meditation, Noticing Without Fixing, for a gentle opportunity to explore body awareness through sensation, curiosity, and choice. 🪷 Explore the Inner Haven Practice Library If you’d like to continue beyond the podcast, the Inner Haven Practice Library offers a growing collection of somatic practices, guided meditations, gentle movement, restorative yoga, breath practices, nervous system education, and supportive resources. Through orienting, grounding, breath awareness, supportive touch, and noticing sensation, you’ll be guided to explore what it feels like to simply arrive in your body — without needing to relax, change how you feel, or reach a particular state. There is nothing you need to accomplish here. Nothing you need to fix. Just a few quiet moments to notice: I am here. ✨ In this guided practice, we’ll explore: • Gentle orienting to the space around you • Feeling the support beneath your body • Noticing the breath without needing to change it • Supportive self-touch and physical sensation • Choosing where your attention feels most comfortable • Reconnecting with your body without trying to fix what you find • A gentle return to the space around you 🌿 A gentle reminder: Coming home to your body doesn't mean arriving at some perfect state of calm. Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ What does it really mean to come home to your body? In this Inner Haven Foundations episode, we explore somatic awareness and the simple practice of beginning to notice yourself again — your sensations, breath, movement, needs, and the quiet signals your body may already be sending. So much of daily life can pull our attention away from the body. We think, plan, scroll, work, care for others, and move from one thing to the next. Sometimes it isn’t until we finally slow down that we realize just how much our body has been communicating all along. Coming home doesn’t mean feeling calm all the time or becoming perfectly connected to every sensation. It isn’t about fixing yourself or forcing your attention inward. It can begin much more simply: Noticing your feet on the ground. Feeling the warmth of your hands. Recognizing that you’re tired. Taking a stretch. Looking around the room. Noticing when something feels supportive — or when something feels like too much. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • What it means to come home to your body • What somatic awareness actually is • How the body communicates through sensations and signals • Why noticing doesn’t mean you have to change what you feel • The importance of choice in somatic practice • Simple ways to reconnect with your body throughout everyday life 🌿 This week’s invitation: Rather than trying to become more aware of your body, simply notice the moments when you naturally return to it. A stretch in the morning. The feeling of air on your skin. A deeper breath. The support of the ground beneath you. There is nothing you need to make happen. IHF - Interoception: Learning to Feel What’s Happening Inside Your Body
2026/09/29
Looking for more space to practice? Explore the Inner Haven Practice Library, featuring 45+ on-demand somatic practices, gentle yoga, restorative movement, and guided meditations to explore at your own pace. 🌿 Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ This Inner Haven Foundations episode explores interoception — your ability to notice and recognize signals coming from inside your body. Interoception helps you recognize things like hunger, thirst, fullness, temperature, tiredness, your heartbeat, breathing, tension, and other internal sensations. These signals give us important information about what may be happening within the body and what we might need. For some people, these signals are easy to recognize. For others, they may be quieter or harder to notice — especially when we’ve spent years staying busy, pushing through, or overriding what our bodies are communicating. Somatic awareness doesn’t require us to suddenly notice everything. Instead, we can slowly practice becoming more familiar with the sensations that are already there. Over time, noticing these signals earlier may give us more opportunities to respond with care — perhaps by eating, drinking water, resting, moving, taking a break, changing position, or simply acknowledging what we feel. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • What interoception means• Examples of common interoceptive signals• How interoception relates to somatic awareness• Why internal body signals can sometimes be difficult to recognize• How to begin noticing sensations without analyzing them• Why you don’t need to understand every sensation you experience• How noticing signals earlier can help you respond to your needs• A simple interoceptive check-in you can practice throughout your day 🕊 Episode Length: ~8 minutes 🪷 Best For: interoception • body awareness • somatic awareness • nervous system education • learning body signals • mind-body connection • self-awareness • nervous system support "Interoception isn't about noticing every sensation all the time. It's about becoming a little more familiar with the signals your body is already sending you." 🌿 💛 Guided by Megan | Inner Haven Foundations Over the next few days, choose one or two moments to pause and gently ask: What am I noticing inside my body right now? Maybe you notice hunger, fullness, warmth, coolness, tiredness, tension, movement, softness, or something you don't quite have words for. Then you might ask: Is there anything my body seems to be asking for? You don't need to find the perfect answer. A glimmer doesn’t have to be something extraordinary. It might be sunlight coming through a window, your favorite song, a pet resting beside you, the warmth of a cup of tea, a breeze against your skin, laughter, or the feeling of getting into a comfortable bed at the end of the day. Our minds and bodies naturally pay attention to things that might need our attention or protection. Practicing with glimmers isn’t about ignoring stress, grief, or difficult experiences. It’s about gently expanding our awareness so we can also notice the moments that feel supportive. In this episode, we’ll explore how to recognize these moments, pause with them, and give ourselves a little more time to receive them — without trying to force ourselves to feel happy or positive. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • What glimmers are• How glimmers relate to somatic awareness and resourcing• Why small moments of comfort and connection matter• Why noticing glimmers isn't the same as toxic positivity• How to recognize your own unique glimmers• How to pause and stay with a supportive experience• A simple daily practice for collecting your glimmers 🕊 Episode Length: ~8 minutes 🪷 Best For: glimmers • nervous system support • somatic awareness • resourcing • mindfulness • stress support • grounding • connection • nervous system education "These moments don't erase the difficult ones. They simply remind us that our experience can hold more than one thing at a time." 🌿 💛 Guided by Megan | Inner Haven Foundations Over the next few days, see if you can notice one glimmer each day. When you find one, pause for just a few seconds. Notice it. Feel it. Let yourself receive it. At the end of the day, you might ask: What was one glimmer I noticed today? Maybe you laughed. Maybe the sky was beautiful. Maybe you enjoyed the first sip of your coffee. Maybe someone smiled at you. Maybe your body simply felt comfortable for a moment. It doesn't need to be profound. The practice is simply learning to notice. IHF - What Are Triggers? | Understanding Your Nervous System
2026/09/15
Looking for more space to practice? Explore the Inner Haven Practice Library, featuring 45+ on-demand somatic practices, gentle yoga, restorative movement, and guided meditations to explore at your own pace. 🌿 Begin your free 7-day trial: https://innerhavensomatics.com/ What Are Triggers? | Understanding Your Nervous System This Inner Haven Foundations episode explores triggers from a nervous system perspective — what they are, why the body can sometimes react so quickly, and how understanding our patterns can help us respond with greater awareness and choice. A trigger might be a sound, smell, place, conversation, conflict, tone of voice, memory, emotion, or even a sensation within the body. Sometimes we understand exactly why something affects us. Other times, our reaction can feel surprising or much bigger than the moment itself. Our nervous systems learn from experience. Sometimes something happening in the present can remind the nervous system of an earlier experience, causing the body to respond before our thinking mind fully understands what is happening. Rather than judging these reactions, somatic awareness invites us to become curious. We can begin noticing what happened, what changed in the body, what our body wanted to do, and what might help us feel supported. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn: • What triggers are from a nervous system perspective• Why the body may react before the mind understands why• How experiences can shape nervous system responses• Early body signals that may accompany a trigger• How to recognize your patterns without judgment• Why triggers can offer information about what is happening within you• How grounding, orienting, boundaries, movement, space, and connection may help• How awareness can gradually create more choice in how we respond 🕊 Episode Length: ~9 minutes 🪷 Best For: understanding triggers • nervous system education • emotional triggers • somatic awareness • stress responses • emotional regulation • grounding • nervous system regulation "Working with triggers isn't about controlling every response. It's about learning your patterns, understanding your body's signals, and building more support around difficult moments." 🌿 💛 Guided by Megan | Inner Haven Foundations This week, rather than trying to fix your triggers, simply become curious about them. You might ask: What happened just before I felt this shift? What did I notice in my body? What did my body want to do?What might help me feel supported right now? You may notice these things in the moment, or you may recognize them afterward. Both matter. The goal isn't perfect awareness. It's slowly learning the language of your nervous system. If you'd like to understand your nervous system more deeply, you're warmly invited to explore the Inner Haven Resource Library, filled with gentle workbooks, guides, reflection tools, and resources for building somatic awareness.
