Description

Welcome to Predictably Unexpected, the holiday Hallmark romcom podcast you didn’t know you needed! Your hosts, Holly & Scottie, are obsessed with predictably heartwarming Christmas movies. Think big-city careers, small-town charm, last-minute snowstorms, and just maybe... a kiss under the mistletoe. Using their official Predictability Scorecard — a totally serious, highly scientific game where they rate each holiday film on classic Hallmark-style tropes. From city vs. small-town settings to surprise character backstories, they’ll predict the plot before they even hit play. If they guess the movie right, they earn points and yes, there’s a prize (or at least bragging rights) on the line. What to Expect This Season:     •    Weekly episodes all through the holiday season (hopefully)     •    Predictions, recaps, and hilarious real-time reactions     •    A rotating lineup of festive films, friendly competition, and a lot of hot takes (and hot cocoa) So grab your coziest blanket, pour yourself something peppermint-flavored, and get ready to celebrate the most predictably unexpected time of the year!

Tie the Knot, Break the Tie: Hallmark’s ’Tis the Season for Setups and Mr. & Mrs. Christmas
2026/10/23
The Countdown to Christmas has officially begun, which means it’s time to put on a cozy sweater and ignore all of our responsibilities. We’re kicking off the season the way every Hallmark couple starts a movie: stuck in a situation we did not plan for. Our tiebreaker ended in an actual tie, a twist so unexpected it would get cut from a Hallmark script for being too dramatic. To settle it, we pulled in Hallmark’s ’Tis the Season for Setups and re-predicted from scratch, then compared our Predictability Scorecards to see who may own the tiebreak for the entire season. Expect bragging rights, shaky logic, and at least one person insisting their scorecard was “technically correct.” Then we predict Hallmark’s Mr. & Mrs. Christmas using only the title. Our predictions are sealed, our confidence is unearned, and the title gives us just enough to be dangerously wrong. Will we nail the plot or embarrass ourselves in front of the whole town? Press play to find out. Hit subscribe and leave a review, or we’ll set you up on a blind date with a small town tree farmer who has “complicated feelings” about the holidays and a mysterious big city past. Joust Getting Started: Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas Calendar and A Knight to Remember
2026/10/12
It's a mega episode, and yes, we're calling it that because the Countdown to Christmas calendar is enormous and our scheduling spreadsheet has filed a formal complaint. First, we break down the full release calendar and try to figure out how Hallmark expects anyone to finish dinner between now and December. Then it's the Season 2 tiebreaker, where the Predictability Scorecard faces its toughest test yet: A Knight to Remember. Will there be a castle? A charming stranger with suspiciously good hair? A small town that desperately needs saving? We make our predictions based on the title alone, because that is how we live. Fair warning: Holly has some thoughts about this title, and they involve a very different kind of night. Armor is not involved. Neither, apparently, is the dictionary. Hit subscribe, or we'll have you knighted against your will. Sir or Dame, you'll be sworn to leave a five star review, share the show with a fellow Hallmark loyalist, and honor the chivalrous code of never spoiling the ending. Kneel responsibly. Love Finds You, Right on Cue: Hallmark's Love Finds You and Much About Love
2026/09/01
Season 2 is officially preseason, and love found us exactly where we expected it to. This episode is dropping a little later than planned, but in true Hallmark fashion, we knew it would find you eventually anyway. This week we break down Hallmark's Love Finds You, giving our full unfiltered opinions on whether the plot surprised us even once (spoiler: it did not). We're also taking a first look at what's coming next with Hallmark’s Much About Love, setting the stage for our Predictability Scorecard as the season heats up. Plus, Holly debuts her first attempt to “paint the picture” with the poster art, and let's just say the brush had more confidence than the technique. We're calling it "abstract" so nobody's feelings get hurt. Grab your pumpkin spice something and settle in, because Fall Into Love is warming us up for the main event: Countdown to Christmas. Rate, review, and subscribe: or risk finding out the hard way that "much about love" also means much about loneliness, questionable decisions, and a third act redemption you saw coming from the first scene. Preseason, Prejudged: Falling Into Hallmark's 2026 Fall Movie Lineup
2026/08/24
We're back! After a long winter's nap since the last Countdown to Christmas wrapped, Season 2 is finally here, and we're easing back in with a preseason special before the real competition begins. This week, there's no Predictability Scorecard on the line and no official predictions to defend. Instead, we're taking a first look at Hallmark's 2026 "Fall Into Love" lineup, sizing up the titles, and getting our punny muscles warmed back up after months off the mic. Think of it as our offseason training montage: low stakes, high snark, and just enough foreshadowing to get you excited for what's coming when the Christmas countdown officially kicks off. Rate, review, and subscribe, unless you'd rather wander into fall alone, with nothing but a pumpkin spice latte to guide you. There Can Be Only One (Predictor): Crowning the Predictability Champion!
2025/12/30
After a full season of predictions, scorecards, and extremely scientific math, the moment has finally arrived. This week, we break down the final Predictability Scorecard results for Hallmark’s A Make or Break Holiday and The Christmas Baby, reviewing how our predictions actually stacked up once the movies aired. With those last scores locked in, we tally the season-long results and officially crown the Predictability Champion. Bragging rights are claimed, egos are bruised, and the host-vs-host rivalry reaches its inevitable conclusion.  One crown. One winner. Let the coronation begin. By not rating, reviewing, and subscribing, you agree to spend the holidays trapped in a make-or-break scenario featuring a conveniently timed Christmas baby and zero plot surprises. Making, Breaking, and Baby-Making: Hallmark’s A Make or Break Holiday & The Christmas Baby!
2025/12/21
This week, we’re holding ourselves accountable — briefly — before confidently predicting the future all over again. We kick things off by reviewing last week’s Hallmark offerings, A Suite Holiday Romance and Oy to the World!, and putting our Predictability Scorecard to the test. Which tropes showed up right on cue? Which emotional beats hit exactly when we said they would? And did Hallmark surprise us even a little… or absolutely not at all? After checking the receipts, we turn our attention to the upcoming Hallmark movies: A Make or Break Holiday and The Christmas Baby! Armed with nothing but the titles, years of Hallmark-viewing experience, and a deeply trusted formula, we predict plots, character arcs, conflicts, and Christmas miracles before a single ornament is hung on screen. Will careers be on the line? Will family secrets surface at the worst possible festive moment? Will a baby fundamentally change everything just in time for Christmas? Using our Predictability Scorecard, we place our bets, embrace the tropes, and prepare to be proven right (again). Whether you’re a devoted Hallmark fan, a loving skeptic, or just here for the cozy chaos, this episode is your guide to Christmas movie déjà vu — with spreadsheets.  Rate, review, and subscribe — or risk being handed a Christmas baby that teaches you the true meaning of the holidays whether you’re emotionally prepared or not. A Very Suite Predictable Oy-fair: Hallmark’s A Suite Holiday Romance & Oy to the World!
2025/12/12
In this week’s episode, we savor the festive flavors of Hallmark’s latest entries in the holiday movie canon. We start with a results recap from last week—She’s Making a List and Single on the 25th—where we compare what we predicted based solely on the titles to what actually unfolded on screen. Were we holiday-prophets? Were we misled by the promise of yuletide puns? Or did the movies deliver classic Hallmark charm exactly where we expected it? After crunching the numbers and awarding this week’s bragging rights, we look ahead to two brand-new titles: A Suite Holiday Romance and Oy to the World!. With no trailers, synopses, or clues—just the names—we construct our best guesses about the plots, the character journeys, the romantic beats, and the inevitable holiday life lessons. Whether it’s a meet-cute in a hotel lobby or a multicultural holiday mash-up filled with comedy and heart, we break it down, build it up, and score the predictability at every turn. Expect spirited conversation, a dash of skepticism, generous helpings of cozy holiday cheer, and plenty of laughter as we continue our mission to predict Hallmark movies with absurd confidence. If you love Hallmark, love to lovingly tease Hallmark, or just enjoy listening to people confidently guess things they can’t possibly know, this episode is a gift wrapped in twinkle lights. Rate, review, and subscribe — or you might end up caught between a Suite Holiday Romance meet-cute and an Oy to the World! meltdown, forced to resolve emotional baggage in a festively decorated lobby while a precocious child insists you believe in miracles. List Mode Activated, Relationship Status Deactivated: Hallmark’s She’s Making a List & Single on the 25th
2025/12/06
Welcome back to another tinsel-covered episode of our Hallmark holiday deep dive, where we take festive movie titles far too seriously and use our Predictability Scorecard like it’s a scientifically validated diagnostic tool. (Maybe one day.) We kick things off by revisiting last week’s trifecta of holiday cheer: We Met in December, The Snow Must Go On, and An Alpine Holiday. Did our predictions melt under the pressure, or did we snowball a perfect score? We break down the meet-cutes, the misunderstandings, the mountains, and the mandatory small-town charm to see just how accurate our festive forecasting really was. Spoiler: someone’s prediction ego might grow three sizes this episode. Then we shift our gaze to the upcoming week’s Hallmark gems: She’s Making a List and Single on the 25th. One sounds like a woman with a spreadsheet and a dream; the other sounds like the world’s most specific relationship status update. Naturally, we dissect both titles with extreme confidence and absolutely no inside information. What kind of list is she making? Who’s single on the 25th? And more importantly, will any of this stop us from wildly guessing the plot? Absolutely not. So grab your cocoa, your candy canes, and your willingness to suspend disbelief. It's time to analyze, predict, revisit, and mildly roast Hallmark’s latest seasonal offerings—because if we don’t, who will? Rate, review, and subscribe—or you might wake up on the 25th single, with a list of life lessons longer than your Christmas shopping list. Fashionably Late for Festive Fate: Hallmark’s We Met in December, The Snow Must Go On & An Alpine Holiday
2025/11/29
Hallmark has unleashed a blizzard of movies, and frankly, even we have limits — so in this episode, we’re changing things up to survive the holiday onslaught. And yes, we know this episode is dropping later than planned — consider it fashionably late, Hallmark-style. First, we review our Predictability Scorecard results for last week’s premieres: Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story and Melt My Heart This Christmas. Did we accurately forecast the football-themed romance and heartwarming seasonal defrosting, or did Hallmark actually surprise us for once? Then, with too many new movies and not nearly enough hours in the week, we take a streamlined dive into predicting this festive trio amid the holiday movie deluge: Hallmark’s We Met in December, The Snow Must Go On, and An Alpine Holiday. Expect bold guesses, trope-based logic, and our eternal confidence that we absolutely know what’s going to happen… even when we absolutely don’t. Holiday overload has never sounded so cozy. Rate, review, and subscribe — or risk getting stuck in a small-town production where the snow must go on… and you’re the only one who can save both the show and the handsome lead’s Christmas spirit. Melting Hearts & Broken Tackles: Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story & Melt My Heart This Christmas
2025/11/20
Fluff up your favorite holiday blanket—it’s time for another cheerful romp through the Predictability Scorecard! We start by revisiting last week’s festive double feature, Hallmark’s: Three Wisest Men and Tidings for the Season. Did our predictions hold up like sturdy Christmas stockings, or did they sag a little under the weight of unexpected plot twists? We unwrap the tropes, celebrate the hits, and lovingly laugh at the misses, all in the spirit of good holiday fun. Then we suit up for this week’s newcomers: Hallmark’s Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story and Melt My Heart This Christmas. With only the titles as our playbook, we call the boldest holiday audibles—expect wild theories, rom-com Hail Marys, and at least one pun that will make someone in Buffalo groan audibly. Will romance score on the first down? Will hearts melt faster than a snowman in a sauna? And just how many plot points will fall from the sky like perfectly timed, emotionally supportive snowflakes? Join us for another episode of festive folly, where the stories may be predictable, but our confidence is downright unfrosted. It’s cozy, it’s chaotic, and it’s exactly the kind of holiday cheer Hallmark keeps throwing our way—whether we asked for it or not. Rate, review, and subscribe — or risk being out-wised by three men with perfect hair and swept into tidings you didn’t ask for but will absolutely cry over by minute eighty-seven. Wisecracks and Predictable Tidings: Hallmark’s Three Wisest Men & Tidings for the Season
2025/11/12
The tinsel is twinkling, the snow is suspiciously foam-like, and our Predictability Scorecard is ready for another test. This week, we’re checking in on Hallmark's Christmas Above the Clouds and A Keller Christmas Vacation to see if our predictions soared or totally crash-landed in a snowbank.  Then we turn our merry gaze toward Hallmark's Three Wisest Men (yes, they made a third one!) and Tidings for the Season, which sounds like it’ll deliver exactly what it promises: tidings, twinkle lights, and two people who definitely weren’t looking for love. So cozy up by the fire (or the metaphorical streaming queue) as we test our theory that Hallmark’s greatest gift isn’t love… it’s predictability. Rate, review, and subscribe — or risk being out-wised by three men with perfect hair and swept into tidings you didn’t ask for but will absolutely cry over by minute eighty-seven. Flight Risk & Family Drama: Hallmark’s Christmas Above the Clouds and A Keller Christmas Vacation
2025/11/06
The Hallmark machine keeps cranking out Christmas cheer — and we’re here to decode it one predictable plot at a time. This week, we revisit our predictions for Christmas on Duty to see if we nailed the tropes, misread the mistletoe, or underestimated Hallmark’s ability to recycle its own storylines. In true holiday fashion, we forgot something on our list — Hallmark’s A Newport Christmas! This Hallmark title won’t get the full Predictability Scorecard treatment, but we did watch it and we’ll review whether it was smooth sailing or if it had stormy seas…. Then we take flight with Christmas Above the Clouds and buckle up for A Keller Christmas Vacation, two titles that sound full of holiday chaos and emotional baggage (literally). We’ll debate which movie will earn us the highest Predictability Score, which character will learn “the true meaning of Christmas,” and which one will definitely fall in love after a snowball fight. Hallmark’s holiday formula might be set in stone, but we’re here to see how closely it sticks to the blueprint — and maybe, just maybe, find a new favorite in the process. Rate, review, and subscribe — or you’ll end up spending your next Christmas vacation stuck in matching pajamas, mediating family drama, and realizing that love was snowed in next door all along. Reporting for Romance: Hallmark’s Christmas on Duty
2025/10/29
The countdown continues, and we’re back on the front lines of Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas movie predictions! This week, we’re reviewing our battlefield results from A Christmas Angel Match and Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper! —two festive missions full of angels, a weatherman, and more small-town charm than a snow globe factory. How accurate were our guesses? Let’s just say our Predictability Scorecard is seeing both victories and tactical errors. Then, it’s time to salute our next challenge: Christmas on Duty. With a military backdrop and a guaranteed dose of mistletoe, will this one bring a soldier home for the holidays, or maybe pair a disciplined officer with a free-spirited hometown hero? One thing’s for sure—love and duty are about to go head-to-head, and we’ll be here to predict every salute, snowflake, and soft-focus kiss along the way. So polish your ornaments, stand at ease, and join us as we predict Christmas on Duty—because when it comes to Hallmark movies, we never retreat from a good holiday romance. Rate, review, and subscribe — or you’ll find yourself accidentally engaged to a rugged soldier who just came home for Christmas and only knows two things: honor... and holiday proposals. Royal Results, Angelic Guesses & Ted Cooper?: Hallmark’s A Christmas Angel Match & Merry Christmas Ted Cooper!
2025/10/22
Buckle your sleigh belts and grab your glitter glue — we’re back with another tinsel-covered episode of holiday hot takes! First, we saddle up and spill the eggnog on our Predictability Scorecard for Hallmark’s A Royal Montana Christmas, where tiaras meet tractors and we answer one of life’s most important questions: How many royal secrets can one ranch handle? Next we flap our metaphorical angel wings and float into the clouds of speculation as we preview Hallmark’s A Christmas Angel Match — a film that promises divine intervention, romantic tension, and possibly a harp solo. Will it be predictably precious or just heavenly nonsense? Either way, our scorecards are ready and our jingle bells are on high alert. Then we try to predict the plot of Hallmark’s: Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper! Who is Ted Cooper? A big-time actor with a secret love of woodworking or a warm-hearted weatherman returning to his hometown for the holidays?  Join us for punny predictions, and enough Hallmark holiday magic to light up a Christmas tree farm. Because when it comes to Hallmark movies, we don’t just watch — we sleigh. Rate, review, and subscribe — or risk a surprise engagement in a snow covered gazebo. Tricks, Treats & Tropes: Hallmark’s Haul Out the Halloween Movie Review (S1:E4)
2025/10/15
In this special Halloween episode, we temporarily ghost our traditional Predictability Scorecard (don't worry, it'll haunt us again soon) to simply discuss Hallmark's spooky-season offering: Haul Out the Halloween. Join us as we unwrap this cinematic candy corn of a film — complete with autumn clichés, supernatural small-town charm, and romantic misunderstandings. We’re not here to judge. Okay, we are — but only in the most festive, flannel-wrapped way. Is it scary? No. Is it logical? Also no. Is there a baking competition judged by overzealous HOA members? You bet your cinnamon broomstick there is. No scorecards. No predictions. Just pumpkin-scented opinions.
