Want to burn it all down? What to do when you want to quit your business.
2026/08/18
This episode is for the days when you feel like a total turd. When you don't want to do anything.  When you'd rather torch the place than make some stupid f**king Instagram carousel. Because no matter how much you work on you mindset, heal your nervous system, and chant money mantras, there are going to be days in your business when you genuinely do not want to do this anymore. You want to throw in the towel. Burn the whole thing down. Get a normal job. Move to the woods. Whatever. And then there are the days when you wake up on top of the world thinking, I am a f**king genius and this business is amazing. Welcome to entrepreneurship. In this episode, I’m talking about what to actually do on those s****y business days. Not how to force yourself into a better mood or convince yourself that everything is fine – because we both know that shit doesn't work until you listen to yourself and actually let yourself take a beat and rest. Because sometimes something is wrong. Sometimes you need to change the strategy, the offer, the business, or even decide you don't want the thing anymore. The goal is learning how to tell the difference between “I need to quit” and “I am having a really f*****g hard day.” I’m also breaking down the 4 Ds every entrepreneur needs: Decision: What have you decided you want?Discipline: What are you willing to do consistently to create it?Dedication: Why is it worth continuing when it gets hard?Devotion: Who are you committed to becoming through the process?Because there will be days when dedication gets you through. And there will be days when devotion is the only thing left. So when you're having one of those f**k this shit days, instead of trying to fix your entire business, come back to one question: Which D do I need today? And then make one honest choice that says yes to the life you've decided you want. You don't have to feel good about your business every day. You just have to be willing to be with yourself long enough to figure out what the f**k is actually true. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Limp Noodle Marketing
2026/08/11
Two weeks ago, I was scrolling through my own podcast titles and realized I wouldn't click on my own content. And I thought, "what a f*cking limp noodle." Every title was technically accurate. It had all the right SEO, optimization, and whatnot. But it was BO-RING AF. The show is called F**k Around & Get Paid and I was clearly playing it stupidly safe. So I immediately changed the most recent episode right there on the spot to Kick Overwhelm in Its Red Hot Arse. I sent an email about it, and subsequently got the most unsubscribes I've had on my email list in MONTHS. To which I said, "Good." Because I don't want a bunch of limp noodles on my email list. I've a powerful shot of whiskey, and I need the whiskeys in my orbit so we can make sh*t burn hot together.  This whole thing got me thinking about the energetics of business and how often we do this in our marketing without even realizing it. Because while our words in our content might be technically accurate, it doesn't always make the right people stop scrolling. It you're a red hot sassy b*tch like me and you're playing it safe? You've lost your people before they even meet you. That's why, in this episode, we're talking about Limp Noodle Marketing: Why we do this, where it shows up, and how to make your marketing actually sound like YOU. In this episode: The sneaky ways you might be softening your messagingHow “professional” marketing advice can make your copy sound like turdsWhy you often can't see your own boring marketing from the insideHow to make your message match the actual energy you bring to your workThe questions I use to figure out whether something is actually going to make someone stop scrollingWhy your marketing doesn't need to be louder, it just needs to be more YOUBecause your content's job is to shake someone out of the scroll. If it doesn't do that, it doesn't exist to them.  Want to go deeper? This is exactly the work we're doing inside my upcoming workshop. We're looking at the relationship between your energy, your message, and your money, so what you say, what you sell, and what you charge can actually come from the same place. Bust the a$$ right out of your dreams
2026/08/04
What do ripped jeans, a ska concert, and your biggest dreams have in common? More than you'd think. In this episode, I'm sharing one of my favorite (and most embarrassing) stories about literally blowing the crotch out of my pants moments before meeting my favorite band. But underneath the laughter is one of the biggest lessons I've learned about creating a business and life you actually love. Most of us are trying to squeeze our dreams into a version of success that's simply too small. We set goals that feel "reasonable," follow someone else's blueprint, and wonder why everything feels so tight. What if the answer isn't to work harder? What if it's to stretch your dreams instead? Listen in to hear: ✨ Why your dreams need more room than you think they do ✨ The surprising reason playing it "safe" can keep you stuck ✨ Four ways to expand your vision without getting overwhelmed ✨ How to let go of needing a specific outcome while still taking bold action ✨ Why the biggest breakthroughs often come after the biggest blowouts If you've been feeling cramped by the life or business you've built, this episode is your invitation to loosen the seams, dream a little bigger, and create a life that actually fits who you're becoming. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Kick overwhelm in its hot red arse
2026/07/28
You can be incredibly talented at what you do and still feel overwhelmed when it’s time to build a business around it. Maybe you’ve already built something before. Maybe you’re really good at your craft. Maybe people already come to you for your expertise. But creating a business where you have to be visible, share your ideas, make offers, and consistently put yourself out there can bring up a whole new level of growth. You can know exactly what to do, but your business isn't just asking you to do things - it's asking you to become the kind of person who is more visible, more trusting, and more willing to take up space than ever before. In this episode, I’m sharing a conversation with someone in my community who had already built a successful business and was stepping into a new vision. She didn’t need someone to teach her how to be successful. What we need at this stage is support becoming the person who builds this next chapter. We’re talking about:  Why your next level of business often requires a new level of self-trust  Why visibility can feel uncomfortable even when you’re confident in your skills  The difference between needing more information and needing support in implementation  The four parts of building a business: vision, offer, visibility, and becoming the person who leads it  How to create a business that reflects who you are instead of who you think you should be If you’ve been successful in one area of your life but feel yourself being called into something bigger, this episode is for you. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? The best kept secret in business (that 6-year-old you always knew)
2026/07/21
What if your childhood wasn't just a collection of random memories, but a real business roadmap? The things you loved before you were told what was practical, profitable, or impressive often reveal the gifts, strengths, and ways of creating that make you feel most alive. In this episode of F**k Around & Get Paid, we're diving into why your childhood joy matters for your future success, fulfillment, and finances. You'll hear:  ✨ Why your childhood passions can reveal your natural gifts and strengths  ✨ How following your joy can become a business strategy  ✨ Why so many entrepreneurs burn out trying to build businesses that don't fit them  ✨ How to identify the patterns hidden inside the things you loved as a kid  ✨ How I built a business around being fully myself, having fun, and creating income through my natural gifts I'll also share stories from our community, including the childhood joys that revealed clues about the businesses and contributions they're here to create. Because the goal isn't to become someone else to make money. The goal is to uncover who you've always been and build a business that rewards you for being that person. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? The Spirituality Trap: Why women entrepreneurs are exhausted from trying to become "better"
2026/07/14
What if the thing keeping you stuck isn't that you need more healing, more growth, or more spiritual work? What if you're exhausted because you've been trying so hard to become someone you're not? In this episode of F**k Around & Get Paid, we're talking about the pressure so many women entrepreneurs feel to constantly improve, evolve, heal, and reach some imaginary "next level" version of themselves before they allow themselves to fully step into success. Somewhere along the way, we've turned personal growth into another hamster wheel. We're always striving for the next thing. The next level of consciousness. The next version of ourselves. The version who finally has it all together. But what if your success doesn't require you to become more perfect? What if it requires you to become more you? In this episode, I share my thoughts on the spirituality trap, the pressure women feel to perform having it all together, and why I believe the future of entrepreneurship belongs to people who are willing to be fully themselves. We'll talk about: ✨ Why so many women entrepreneurs are burned out from constantly trying to improve themselves  ✨ How personal growth and spirituality can accidentally become another place we perform perfection  ✨ The connection between authenticity, confidence, and building a successful business  ✨ Why you don't need to reach your "highest self" before you're allowed to make money or create impact  ✨ The difference between running on the self-improvement hamster wheel and becoming an empowered player in the game  ✨ Why the world needs more entrepreneurs who are willing to show up as themselves For years, women have been taught to be the perfect duck: calm and composed on the surface while secretly paddling like crazy underneath. But you were never meant to spend your life performing perfection. You are meant to be a powerful player in the game. Because the way you build a business that creates income and impact isn't by becoming someone else. It's by becoming safe to be fully who you already are. Is your business vacation-proofed?
2026/06/30
Summer has a way of revealing the truth about our businesses. If the thought of stepping away from your business for a vacation, family visit, or even a long weekend fills you with anxiety, this episode is for you. In this episode, I'm sharing a real-time lesson I learned while my parents were visiting during the middle of a coaching cohort. For the first time, I had intentionally designed my program to give clients more tools, more self-owned support, and more opportunities to implement on their own. And then something unexpected happened: the chat got really quiet. At first, my nervous system interpreted that silence as a problem. But what I discovered completely changed the way I think about coaching, client empowerment, and building a business that truly supports my life. We'll talk about the nervous system patterns that keep entrepreneurs tethered to their businesses, why being constantly needed isn't the same thing as creating transformation, and how I'm building a Joy-First Business that allows for both impact and freedom. If you've ever worried that taking time off means losing momentum, falling behind in your business, or letting your clients down, this conversation will help you reimagine what's possible. In this episode, you'll learn: ✨ Why summer can expose the places where your business still owns you ✨ The surprising lesson I learned when my coaching container got quiet ✨ How to create client empowerment instead of client dependency ✨ Common nervous system patterns that keep entrepreneurs overworking ✨ Signs your business may not be vacation-proof yet ✨ Practical ways to build more freedom, spaciousness, and sustainability into your business ✨ Why I believe your business should expand your life, not consume it If this episode resonated with you, I'd love to hear from you! How to de-influence your business
2026/06/23
A few weeks ago I formed a simple hypothesis: If I don't have to be right all the time, my life would drastically improve. That one idea cracked open a dam - and what came flooding out was an honest inventory of everywhere I'd been performing a version of myself I didn't actually choose. In this episode I get real about what it means to de-influence your life and business - not just your content strategy, but the deeper stuff. The ideals you absorbed. The positions you never consciously took. The version of success you've been chasing that someone else built. In this episode: The hypothesis that changed everything (and why "not having to be right" is actually the most intuitive move)The corner-of-the-house IG live that made me think "this is f**king ridiculous"What I actually want my life to look like — and why I'd been squeezing my life into a brand instead of the other way aroundHow the influencer era sold coaches and healers a very specific (and very fake) idealWhy authenticity isn't a trend — it's the only response to a world that feels unreliableWhat de-influencing your business actually looks like in practiceLinks + Resources: Read the full essay this episode pairs with: Read HERELearn more about working with me: jenliss.comFollow along: @jennifer.liss_---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? The key to manifesting everything
2026/06/16
What if the thing keeping you exhausted isn't your schedule, your business, or even your responsibilities? What if it's that you've stopped saying what you actually want? Today we're exploring one of the most overlooked keys to manifestation: desire. Because so many of us have been taught to "be grateful" for what we have while quietly abandoning what we truly want. We convince ourselves what we want is selfish, unrealistic, or we feel guilty about wanting too much. So we want it, then minimize it, and then want it, and then minimize it... And then we wonder why we're exhausted. In this episode, I detail why we often accept the order someone else placed for us instead of claiming what we actually desire. Why gratitude and wanting more are not opposites, the hidden guilt many women carry around desire, and why resentment is often a sign that we've stopped honoring ourselves. If you've ever felt unfulfilled despite doing everything "right," this conversation may be exactly what you need. Your desires aren't frivolous. They are information. They may even be divine direction. In this episode, you'll learn: Why saying what you want (CLEARLY!) is essential for manifestationThe surprising reason you feel exhausted when you suppress your desiresHow gratitude and wanting more can coexistThe hidden web of guilt, shame, and conditioning around desireWhy resentment is often a clue that you've abandoned yourselfHow unspoken desires create resistance in your nervous systemA simple three-step practice for receiving more of what you wantThe Three-Part Practice: Honor what you want. Communicate it. Accept it DAILY. The universe isn't offended by your appetite. You don't have to settle for the life someone else ordered for you. You get to place your own order, exactly as you want it. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? The cure for the recovering perfectionist
2026/06/09
What if the thing keeping you stuck isn't your strategy, your offer, your content, or your consistency? What if it's your need to get it right? Today we are exploring the hidden force that shows up for every entrepreneur: perfectionism. In this episode, you'll learn why perfectionism has nothing to do with high standards and everything to do with fear, how the nervous system responds when we become overly focused on avoiding mistakes, and why play, experimentation, and messy action are often the fastest path to the results we're seeking. You'll also hear a powerful story about a professional athlete whose performance transformed when he stopped trying so hard to get it right and started playing again. Inside this episode: ✨ What perfectionism actually is (and what it isn't) ✨ Why fear of failure often disguises itself as "being responsible" ✨ How perfectionism creates nervous system rigidity and blocks creativity ✨ The surprising connection between growth, visibility, and control ✨ Why your next breakthrough may require more experimentation and less certainty ✨ A simple challenge to help you loosen your grip and create momentum this week If you've been waiting until you're more prepared, more confident, more certain, or more qualified before taking the next step, this episode is for you. Because your most magnetic self isn't the version of you that gets everything right. It's the version that's willing to play. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Listen to this before starting something new
2026/06/02
Have you ever started something new and immediately felt overwhelmed? First, know this: just because your nervous system suddenly decides you're being chased by a tiger does not mean you have done anything wrong, that you haven't healed enough, and it's definitely not a sign to stop. It's usually a sign to GO. :) In this episode, I'm sharing what happened when I recently found myself in a full-blown spiral while stepping into a new season of growth. What started as excitement quickly turned into overwhelm, panic, comparison, and the familiar feeling that somehow everyone else had figured it out except me. The good news, of course, is that this is incredibly normal. When you step outside what's familiar -even when it's something you want - your nervous systems often interprets uncertainty as danger. That's why growth can feel exciting and terrifying at the exact same time. In this episode, we're talking about why that happens, what your nervous system is actually trying to do, and how to support yourself through the messy middle of expansion without making it mean you're failing. Inside this episode: ✨ Why starting something new can trigger overwhelm ✨ What happened when my own nervous system hit the panic button ✨ How "not enoughness" gets activated during growth ✨ Why comparison gets louder when you're expanding ✨ Practical ways to regulate your nervous system when you're spiraling ✨ Why joy isn't something you earn - it's a powerful tool for creating safety If you've been feeling overwhelmed, behind, or questioning yourself lately, this episode will help you understand what's really happening and how to move through it with more ease. Because every limitation is a chance to transcend into a new possibility! ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Make more by doing less
2026/05/26
What if manifestation has less to do with working harder, and more to do with how you feel while you build your business? In this episode of F**k Around and Get Paid, Jennifer Liss breaks down the powerful shift from chasing success to embodying the feeling you actually want first. Because most entrepreneurs are not really chasing money, clients, freedom, or success. They are chasing the feeling they believe those things will finally give them. The problem is that most people keep those feelings just out of reach by attaching them to future outcomes. This episode explores joy-first manifesting through the lens of entrepreneurship, nervous system regulation, energetic alignment, authentic business growth, and practical law of attraction principles inspired by Abraham Hicks. If you have been hustling, overworking, forcing results, or feeling emotionally exhausted while trying to grow your business, this episode will help you understand why creating from fullness attracts entirely different outcomes than creating from desperation. IN THIS EPISODE  Why entrepreneurs are actually chasing feelings, not goals  The hidden pattern holding your business back Why joy is not the reward for success – it is the pathway to it  How law of attraction principles apply to business growth  Why your audience can feel your energy before they buy  How to create from safety, joy, and emotional fullness THIS EPISODE IS FOR YOU IF:  You are tired of hustling for results that never feel satisfying  You want more ease, alignment, and authenticity in your business  You are interested in manifestation, energetics, and nervous system work  You want to attract clients and opportunities without forcing everything  You are ready to stop postponing joy until “someday” Because the life you want won't begin when you finally get the thing. It starts the moment you start feeling good. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? The best marketing strategy to try right now
2026/05/18
What if the reason people buy from you has less to do with your offer, and everything to do with your energy? In this episode, I’m diving into the truth about authentic marketing, magnetic personal brands, and why authenticity sells harder than perfection ever will. After a weekend trip with my husband Joey to the biggest UFO festival in the world, I started thinking about what actually makes businesses memorable. And it’s rarely just the product itself. It’s the energy behind it. People can feel when someone genuinely loves what they do. They can feel enthusiasm, care, devotion, obsession, creativity, and genuine delight. And in a world saturated with offers, courses, coaching programs, and perfectly curated content, real energy stands out. In this episode, we explore:  Why people buy energy, not just products or services  The connection between authenticity and magnetism in marketing  How enthusiasm creates trust and emotional connection  Why specificity and passion attract loyal clients  The energetic side of personal branding and visibility  How women entrepreneurs can stop watering themselves down online  Why your “weird” interests may actually be your greatest business advantage  The real reason some brands and businesses feel unforgettable  How to build a business that feels aligned, alive, and authentic I also share:  My emotional attachment to goat cheddar 😂  The business lesson hidden inside gourmet popcorn  What mystical UFO festival tarot candles can teach us about branding This episode is for entrepreneurs, coaches, creatives, and multi-passionate humans who are tired of trying to sound polished and professional enough — and are ready to build a business rooted in authenticity, alignment, joy, and real human connection. Because at the end of the day: People don’t just buy your offer. They buy your energy. ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid? Sell the ice cream before it melts (because waiting is costing you money!)
2026/05/05
Summer in Portland got me thinking about ice cream. And about the one thing that is costing you more revenue than almost anything else. In this episode I am introducing you to one of my favorite tools: the Sprinkle Stack. I recorded this literally right after a coaching call because that is exactly the point. When the energy is moving, you move with it. Here is what I see over and over with coaches, energy workers, and service providers. You have something genuinely extraordinary. A gift, a tool, a methodology you built through your own lived experience. And instead of sharing it, you decide it needs more. More credentials. More polish. More hot fudge. So you leave to go get it and by the time you come back, the ice cream has melted. You already know how good it is. You tasted it. And your people are out there right now looking for exactly what you have. They do not need it to be fancier. They need you to hand it to them. The gap between your idea and your execution is not a preparation problem. It is a worthiness problem. And that is exactly what we are getting into today. What you will hear in this episode: What the Sprinkle Stack is and why closing the gap between idea and execution is the fastest path to more revenueWhy you keep leaving to get hot fudge you do not actually needA real coaching conversation from this morning that shows what it looks like to move on your idea before you feel readyWhy the fact that you built your methodology on your own is not a weakness, it is the whole pointWhy the universe does not hand you the idea to share something if it is not ready to be sharedYou are not waiting on more skills. You are waiting on permission. This episode is that permission. Go sell the ice cream. 🦄 ---------- Ready to F**k Around &Get Paid?
