Hearing From God? Or Hearing From Emotion?
2026/07/21
This is Day 3 of the Book of Joshua series — Before God Reveals the Platform, He Forms the Person. Today we see something the series hasn't shown yet: Joshua making a mistake. Coming down from 40 days on the mountain, Joshua hears the noise of the Israelites worshiping the golden calf and tells Moses — "there is the sound of war in the camp." Moses corrects him immediately. It wasn't war. It was singing. Joshua wasn't being rebellious. He wasn't disobeying God. He was simply immature in discernment — and Moses, who had been in the direct presence of God, heard something completely different from the same sound. Buddy breaks down what that moment reveals about how spiritual discernment actually grows — not overnight, not even after 40 days in the presence of God, but through years of intimacy, submission to the Word, and learning to separate what you feel from what God is actually saying.
God Called Him to Stay in the Shadows Before He Qualified Him for the Light!
2026/07/20
We live in a culture obsessed with being seen. Followers. Platforms. Recognition. Influence. But in God's Kingdom, the greatest leaders are almost always formed where no one is looking. This is Day 2 of the Book of Joshua series — Before God Reveals the Platform, He Forms the Person. Yesterday we studied Joshua's obedience in Exodus 17. Today we go to Exodus 24, where Joshua climbs the mountain with Moses toward the presence of God — and stops. The text never says Joshua came back down. It also never says he went all the way up. He stayed in the in-between, in the shadow of the cloud, for forty days, with no title, no recognition, not even a mention. Buddy breaks down what it means to be content being the aide — not the one on the platform — and why posture always comes before promotion, character always comes before calling, and presence always comes before God can trust you with influence. This devotional asks the question most of us avoid: are you faithful when no one sees? And why do you care if they do?
A Man With No Reputation Led God's Army To Victory And The Promise Land? | Fire Reads w/ Buddy
2026/07/17
Buddy goes all the way back to Exodus 17 to trace who Joshua actually was before Joshua 1 — because God was preparing him decades before he stepped into his calling. The preparation is more important than the calling. And if you have been waiting to be noticed, waiting for the platform, waiting for people to recognize what God put in you — this study will completely shift how you see what God is actually doing in your waiting season. The question Buddy closes with is worth sitting with: Are you seeking purpose through recognition? Or are you seeking purpose in the secret place with God?

Pray Like This And You Will Hear God's Voice | Don't Go Another Day Without Hearing God's Voice
2026/07/14
This is Day 3 of the series "Don't Go Another Day Without Hearing God's Voice." Day 1 was repentance — coming out of lies and into truth. Day 2 was the Word — why Scripture is the only way to know His voice. Today is prayer — how to position your heart to actually hear Him. "This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.'" — Matthew 6:9-10
Shame Is Why You Can't Hear God's Voice
2026/07/10
Shame Is Why You Can't Hear God's Voice You haven't stopped hearing God because He stopped speaking. You stopped listening because shame convinced you that you were too dirty for Him to even want to. That's the lie. And it's the first thing the devil attacks — not your behavior, but your access. If he can make you believe you're disqualified, you stay in the dark. You stay out of your purpose. You stay silent when God is trying to speak. In today's Fire Reads, Buddy breaks down 1 John 1:9 in the original Greek — and what you find there is not a command to beg. Homologia — the word for confession — literally means "to agree." You're not confessing to convince God to forgive you. You're confessing to come into agreement with what He already said: that you are forgiven. Past, present, and future. Because of the blood. Not because of how hard you prayed. The guilt you carry isn't conviction — it's accusation. And the moment you agree with what God says over you instead of agreeing with what the enemy says about you, shame loses its voice. And God's voice gets loud. This is Day 1 of a 4-day series on how to hear God's voice every single day. Stay with it. It builds. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."— 1 John 1:9 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell so you don't miss the rest of this week's devotionals. 💬 Want to go deeper? Rejected On Earth, Rewarded In Heaven
2026/07/08
What if the very thing people have been using against you is the exact thing Jesus calls you blessed for? Buddy opens the Sermon on the Mount today — Matthew 5:10–12 — and breaks down rejection in a way that's hard to unhear. Most people spend their whole life trying to be understood, accepted, celebrated. But Jesus never promised that. He said blessed are you when you don't conform to the pattern of this world — and that the people who reject you for it are doing exactly what was prophesied of every prophet before you. This isn't about being persecuted for being difficult, prideful, or "too religious." It's about what happens when truth — which is Jesus — starts to live through you, and darkness reacts to the light. Buddy breaks down why the devil's only real weapon left is attacking your identity, because he can no longer condemn what's already been made righteous through the blood. There's a long game and a short game. The short game is the offense, the rejection, the need to be understood right now. The long game is the reward — and the peace that comes from knowing who you are doesn't shift with what people think of you, or even what you think of yourself. Buddy also shares a personal revelation from VousCon week — on two and a half hours of sleep, reading John 14:6, and understanding for the first time why Jesus is called "the truth" before He's called good, faithful, or just. Truth is the standard underneath all of it. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." — Matthew 5:11–12 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Co-ed Bible study Saturday at BOXR Miami. God Can't Use You the Way He Wants To — Until You Do This One Thing
2026/07/07
You keep asking God what your purpose is. The answer has been in 2 Timothy 2:21 the whole time — and it's simpler than you think. Buddy opens 2 Timothy 2:19–21 today — Paul writing to his mentee Timothy — and breaks down the one thing that determines whether God can use you as an instrument for special purposes or not. It's not your gifting. It's not your calling. It's not how long you've been walking with God. It's whether you're standing on truth or stumbling on lies. In a large house there are articles of gold, silver, wood, and clay. Some for special purposes, some for common use. But the key isn't what you're made of. It's whether you've cleansed yourself from the latter — the sin, the compromise, the garbage that weighs the spirit down. Do that, and the verse says you will be made holy, useful to the master, and prepared to do any good work. That's it. That's the whole thing. Buddy also names the lie that keeps men searching for purpose their whole lives without finding it: follow your heart, heal yourself, love yourself. If you could have done that, you would have done it already. The Word is the only thing that's actually true — and standing on that truth is the only foundation that doesn't shift. Paul mentored Timothy. Buddy mentors his community. Every man who thinks he doesn't need a mentor is standing in spiritual pride — and spiritual pride is the reason you can't see what God is trying to show you. "Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the master, and prepared to do any good work." — 2 Timothy 2:21 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Men's Bible study tonight 8PM EST. We Baptized 17 People and Watched a Man With Brain Damage Sleep Through the Night: Post VousCon
2026/07/06
We baptized 17 people. A man with brain damage who hadn't slept more than four hours a night slept through the whole night after. And I almost missed all of it because I believed I wasn't good enough for community. Buddy comes back from VousCon Miami — five days with 75 people from around the world, demons manifesting and being prayed through, physical healing, and the most transformative week of his life — and opens 1 Thessalonians 5 to answer one question: how do you keep the fire from going out when the moment is over and you go back home? The answer isn't a formula. Paul gives it in three lines: rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. Not because things are good. Because God is always good — and the moment you stop, you're out of the Spirit and back in the flesh. Those two cannot operate at the same time. Buddy also breaks down the word that's been sitting in his life unanswered — and shows why the next word from God isn't always a new one. Sometimes God is just waiting for you to go back and do the last thing He told you. The men's Bible study at BOXR started because Buddy stopped asking for a new word and went back to the last one. And the lie that almost kept him from all of it: I wasn't good enough for community. I was too much of a sinner. No one could relate to me. That's not conviction. That's the devil keeping you away from your deliverance. My Dad Just Went to Prison Again. Here's How I Still Honor Him
2026/07/05
My dad just went to prison again a few weeks ago. And I still honor him. Here's why — and why it's the heaviest thing you'll ever do in the kingdom. Buddy opens Romans 12 today and flips the way you understand honor completely. Most people read "honor one another above yourselves" as a nice sentiment — a call to be polite, to get along, to treat people well when they deserve it. Buddy breaks down why that reading misses the entire weight of what Paul is saying. Honor isn't agreement. It's not enabling. It's not pretending someone is mature when they're not. It's recognizing that every single person — including the ones who have done you the dirtiest — is made perfect in the image of God. And when you dishonor them, you make light of what God placed inside them. You don't just dismiss them. You dismiss the image of God in them. That's the kingdom perspective that freed Buddy to walk in purpose. Not therapy. Not time. Not distance. The understanding that honoring his mom and dad — even when they were still falling, still doing wrong, his dad still going back to prison — was the only reason he was able to steward the community standing in front of him right now. Romans 12:1–2 isn't just about personal transformation. It's the foundation: offer your body as a living sacrifice, renew your mind, and only then can you test and approve what God's will actually is. You want purpose? It's already in that verse. But you can't access it from a posture of judgment. The heaviest thing in the kingdom isn't your unforgiveness. It isn't your bitterness. It isn't your need to be right. It's honor — because honor carries the substance of who God is. God Doesn't See You As Less Chosen Than the Famous Christians
2026/07/04
You've been told "many are called, few are chosen" — and quietly wondered if you're one of the few. You're not reading that right.Buddy opens 1 Corinthians 12 today and goes directly at the lie that some believers are more chosen, more gifted, more important to God than others. It's a lie that keeps men on the sidelines of their own purpose — watching people like Buddy, or the most famous Christians they can name, and assuming God uses them differently than He'd use someone like you.He doesn't. The blood paid the same price for every single one of us. God saw the purpose He put inside of you before the foundations of the world were ever laid — 2 Timothy 1:9. That purpose was not assigned based on how you feel, what you've done, or how your life looks right now. The sea is powerful, unpredictable, and shifting. The truth of who God says you are doesn't move.1 Corinthians 12 is about the body — and every part matters. When one part is sick, the whole body is sick. When one part is sidelined, something in the body doesn't work right. That part is you. The body needs you functioning, not watching from the outside wondering if you made the cut. You made the cut. The blood settled it."For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body — whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free — and we were all given the one Spirit to drink." — 1 Corinthians 12:13 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Co-ed Bible study tonight 8PM EST — DM "Bible study" to get the link. The Reason You Keep Pulling Away Isn't Willpower. It's What You Believe About Yourself.
2026/07/03
You keep trying to do this alone. But God didn't design you to make it that way. Most men pull away when things get hard. They isolate. They think they can white-knuckle their way through the spiritual life without anyone watching, without anyone knowing where they really are. Buddy opens Hebrews 10 today and shows why that's not just a bad strategy — it's a misunderstanding of what the blood of Jesus actually did. The command to "not give up meeting together" in Hebrews 10:25 isn't just a church attendance verse. Buddy goes back to verse 19 and shows you the context that most people skip: we have confidence to enter the most holy place by the blood of Jesus — not by our works, not by how clean we feel, not by how long we've been walking with God. And until that is settled in your heart — not just your head — the isolation wins. Because the devil's first attack is always on your identity. Whether you actually believe you've been forgiven. Whether you actually believe God still sees you as clean. Community isn't an add-on. It's where that truth gets reinforced — and where the lies get dismantled. Buddy also shares a personal confession: he does five days a week of ministry not because everyone else needs it. Because he needs it too. "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…" — Hebrews 10:24–25 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell — new devotional every weekday morning. 📖 Bible study this week — DM "Bible study" to join. Satan's Weapon Isn't Temptation. It's Accusation. | Fire Reads
2026/07/02
Satan knows your name. But he calls you by your filth. And Jesus has been answering that accusation since before the cross. Most men think the enemy's greatest weapon is temptation. Buddy opens Zechariah 3 today and reveals something older and heavier — the adversary's real strategy is accusation. He's not just trying to get you to sin. He's standing in the courtroom pointing at everything you've done, trying to disqualify you from what God said He'd do in your life. But here's what this vision shows: Jesus doesn't argue with him. He doesn't debate the evidence. He just rebukes — and then He removes the filthy garments and puts on fine ones. That's not a metaphor. That's the gospel, playing out 500 years before the cross. Joshua the high priest stood before the Angel of the Lord in filthy clothes — clothes that represented every broken thing about him. Satan was right there with the case file. And yet the verdict wasn't what the accuser expected. Because accusation never wins in a courtroom where the Judge has already chosen you. Buddy breaks down what "rebuke" actually means in Zechariah 3 — not screaming at the devil, not fighting harder — and why coming into agreement with the accuser is the only real power he has left. You can't give authority back to someone Jesus already stripped it from. Unless you choose to. This is the gospel before the gospel. You've been missing this in the Bible the whole time. "I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you." — Zechariah 3:4 🔔 Subscribe and hit the bell so you don't miss the rest of the Christophany series. 📖 Free weekly Bible study — DM "Bible study" to join. God Isn't Angry At You. He's Angry At What Sin Does To You.
2026/07/01
Most people carry a version of God in their head that is quietly angry at them.. Not angry at the world in general. Specifically at them. At their sin cycles. Their repeated failures. The prayers they stopped praying because they felt too dirty to finish them. The assumption underneath everything that God's patience with them personally is running thin. Zechariah 1 reveals something that completely dismantles that. The prophet Zechariah has a vision — and in it, the Angel of the Lord, Malak Yahweh, is standing among the myrtle trees. Not on a throne. Not with a drawn sword. In a quiet, hidden place. And His first act is to turn to the Father and ask — how long will you withhold mercy from Jerusalem? That's Jesus. Before the cross. Before Bethlehem. Already interceding. God's people had been in exile for 70 years because of generations of rebellion, idolatry, and covenant unfaithfulness. God had every right to be angry. And He was. But Jesus stood between that anger and His people and said — how long? Here's the revelation that changes how you see every hard season you've ever been in — God was not angry at the people. He was angry at sin and what it does to people He loves. His heart grieved. His jealousy wasn't possessive jealousy — it was covenant jealousy. He was watching His people settle for the very thing that was destroying them and He couldn't look away. That's the same God who sees you right now. And Buddy lands one more confrontational truth from this passage — your entire faith journey might just be focused on what you can get from God. The next blessing. The next breakthrough. But God isn't a vending machine you bring your problems to. He's a Father watching you settle for what's destroying you — grieving it, interceding through it, and waiting for you to stop. This is the Christophany series — You've Been Missing This In The Bible The Whole Time. You Think You're Waiting On God. He's Actually Waiting On You.
2026/06/30
You've been telling yourself God is silent.. That He's not moving. That your prayers aren't being heard. That maybe this season is just something you have to push through on your own — get stronger, stay consistent, figure it out. But Daniel 10 reveals something completely different. Daniel — a man who survived the lion's den, who witnessed Shadrach Meshach and Abednego walk out of a furnace untouched, a man of deep prayer and real faith — sees a heavenly vision. And it doesn't hype him up. It drains him of every ounce of strength he has. Face turns pale. Falls face down. Can hardly breathe. This wasn't a weak moment. This was intimacy. Because real intimacy with God doesn't always produce feelings of power. Sometimes it reveals your dependency. And the glory of God — the real weight of it — can drain you completely of everything you were relying on that wasn't Him. Then one touch. One word. Peace. Be strong now. Be strong. And Daniel stood up. Here's what Buddy pulled from this passage that changes everything — God heard Daniel from the very first day he prayed. Not from three weeks in. Not when Daniel finally fasted enough or prayed hard enough. From day one. But God was sovereign over the moment He chose to show up. His silence was never absence. He was waiting for the right moment to encounter Daniel in the deepest place of his dependency. And here's the reversal most people never hear — we think we're waiting on God. The whole time, God is actually waiting on us. Waiting for us to stop depending on everything else and let Him be the source. Dependency on God is not failure. Dependency is intimacy. "Do not be afraid, you who are highly esteemed. Peace. Be strong now. Be strong." — Daniel 10:19 🔥 New devotional every week — subscribe and hit the bell. 📖 Women's tonight 8PM EST | Men's Wednesday 8PM EST | Coed Saturday — DM "Bible study" to join
