Ep. 8 - You’re Not Supposed to Understand God
2026/10/08
Dakota Wint explores what spiritual practice really means, inviting us to question inherited beliefs, connect to the mystery, and discover our individualized path.
Go on an adventure around the world as we seek the insight and perspective we all need on our own spiritual journeys. Check out the dakota of earth YouTube channel and start by spending a night in the Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem, where Jesus is thought to have been crucified: dakota of earth
This time on The Flower Heads Show, Dakota talks about:
Sampling the ‘spiritual buffet’ and still feeling unfulfilled Considering what spiritual practice truly isFinding your own connection to a path rather than just following the footsteps of othersBuilding a relationship with the mystery of reality Mantras: a refocusing and decluttering of your mind Being gentle to yourself as the first step of spiritual practiceHow our culture wants us lost and is harvesting our energy“I think asking this question, ‘what is spirituality?’, itself is a practice. Engage into this question. Sit silently with yourself and exhaust the question until you get an answer. That’s not to say deny the spiritual books, deny society, deny the fact that you have to go to work. I’m not telling you to drop out—I’m saying rub your eyes and try to see how we can realize the mystery.” —Dakota Wint

Ep. 7 - What Happens When You Actually See God?
2026/09/01
From Kali and Krishna to Christ, Dakota Wint explores archetypes of the divine and what emerges when we turn our attention toward the deepest mysteries of the universe.
This time on The Flower Heads Show, Dakota explores:
Kali: The feminine face of time and impermanence Krishna and Kali as the divine son and mother Similarities between Hindu and Judeo-Christian storiesFocusing our attention on the mystery of the universeSpiritual practice as the only way to become freeSeeing fierce compassion within Ma Kali “You would think this is some kind of demon or something, no, this is Kali. She looks like this because this is the face of time. Everything you love is gonna go away—it’s going to be chewed apart. It’s going to be blood dripping from the teeth of Kali. It looks scary because it’s meant to scare you into seeing the truth. It’s the wrath of a mother when you’re misbehaving.” —Dakota Wint

Ep. 6 - The Monks Who Tried to Beat Death.. And Won
2026/07/21
What does it mean to become a living Buddha? This time on The Flower Heads Show, Dakota explores the legend of Japanese monk Tetsu Monkai, the mystery of sokushinbutsu, and awakening to our own Buddha nature.
In this episode, Dakota explores:
Becoming a living Buddha via mummification The legend of Japanese monk TetsumonkaiThe immortal diet of sokushinbutsuDakota’s mountain journey to see the living Buddha-body of Tetsu MonkaiTranscending the body and seeing our own Buddha natureWaking up from the habitual entropy that we are all lost in “I sit there under Tetsumonkai. I got to sit there and look at his mummy body, his sokushinbutsu, his living Buddha-body. I had a deep realization—I saw in that moment that the meaning of Tetsumonkai is that there is no Tetsumonkai. Becoming the immortal Buddha is to transcend the body, to die within the body, to realize the truth while you are in the body. When you look at Tetsu Monkai, you’re looking at your own Buddha nature.” —Dakota Wint

"We are just now in this festival with these Aghoris, there are animal sacrifices happening, there are exorcisms happening, there are people bleeding, people flailing on the ground, thousands of people just trying to get some energy from this festival. This is a very localized, specific energy portal. This is where I begin to see the power of spiritual practice—through Bhavani." –Dakota Wint

"All spiritual practice is about remembering, for me. This is my spiritual practice. It's about paying attention so that when these moments happen, I can be conscious of them. So, when the ‘love serve remember' message comes through in the form of a mushroom, in the form of Maharaj-ji, in the form of someone asking me for some change, in the form of my own mother, any way that it approaches, my practice is to try to remember." –Dakota Wint

“In that time, I was so invested in the psychedelic as being the answer, and maybe lacking faith and spirituality because it doesn't have the same direct experience as the psychedelic. But now, slowly, slowly, eight years later, we're back here, and I think I have changed my mind. My mind got changed. My mind got rolled." –Dakota Wint

“Varanasi will confront you with a lot of things you won’t be confronted with anywhere else in the world. This uncomfortability is what spirituality is. A lot of people think that spirituality is the sunflowers, the sunset. These things are very beautiful, but when it all cracks, that’s the ‘real real’. When you watch a body burn, you think of everything in your life…your fate is ash, your fate is dirt, you will spend more time being dead than being whatever you are right now." – Dakota Wint
