Originally Aired Feb 3, 2026 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if the Norman Conquests failed? Would England remain under the rule of the Anglo Saxon House of Godwinson of Wessex rather than William the Conquerer? What would a Godwinson dynasty look like presiding over a Pax Anglica? Would Godwinson be a conquerer and expand into Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, or would he be a consolidator and state builder? What would the English Language look like without French influence? Something like Anglish or Old Englis? Would it be influenced by Danish? What would happen to the Normans and the Papacy on the European continent? Would France conquer Normandy earlier? Originally Aired Jan 23, 2026 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if the United States of America joined Germany and the Central Powers in World War I? American and German relations prior to the outbreak of war were closer than many realize. However, the economic ties with Britain and the Entente were simply stronger. But, what if that had changed? Would the lack of American oil supplies cripple the British navy? Would the blockade be broken? Would Germany win and enforce it's Mitteleuropa and Mittelafrika visions in the Old World? What would happen to Britain, France, and the Russian Empire? Would Japan come out of this conflict surprisingly more powerful despite being on the losing side? Would America invade and conquer Canada? Originally Aired Jan 12, 2026 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi remained in power, and the Islamic Revolution in Iran, or the Iranian Revolution, simply never happened? What does it take to prevent the revolution in Iran? Why did the white revolution and the Shah's modernization efforts backfire? What were the inherent failures of the Pahlavis in our own history? Would Ayatollah Khomeini still rise to prominence? Would Iran transition toward a constitutional monarchy? Would the Iran Iraq War happen? The oil price shocks? The Iranian Hostage Crisis? Could Iran become a trade superpower in the Indian Ocean? Originally Aired Jan 9, 2026 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if the policy of appeasement continued, and Britain and France never declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939 over Poland. Would World War II as we know it, ever have begun? Would the invasion of Poland still have gone through? What about the Winter War, Operation Babarossa, or an earlier German invasion of the Soviet Union? Would Lend Lease still be provided by the United States? Could the USSR even survive? Would Germany achieve their Generalplan Ost ambitions (a German WWII victory) or will Europe collapse with the Third Reich? How would President of the United States Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt respond? How will the world handle the news of this invasion of Venezuela? Can the might of the British and German Empires defeat the U.S. Navy? Would America annex British colonies in the Caribbean in alignment with the Monroe Doctrine? Will this affect Britain, the United States of America, and the rise of the next superpower? What about decolonization and Germany's vision for a Mitteleuropa customs union? Do Perestroika and Glasnost still change the foundational axioms of the way the USSR functions? Do the conflicts of this era... the Rhodesian Bush War, the Iran Iraq War, even 9/11, completely change? Who will be the leader of the Soviet Union in the year 2000? Originally Aired Aug 8, 2025 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if Rome industrialized—that is, underwent an Industrial Revolution, managing, under the Good Emperors, to undergo mechanization, urbanization, build the printing press, and use inventions like the Aeolipile by Hero of Alexandria to build steam engines, railways, and steamships. Will Rome maintain stability, or will it collapse and fracture? Can Rome defend against the Persians, the Huns, and the Germanic tribes? Will Rome expand, colonize, or even discover a new world Featuring our host Jacob as the "US of Z" 🔴Merch https://us-of-z-shop.creator-spring.com/stickers 🟣Discord https://discord.gg/YkFwCpvxRG or try https://discord.gg/usz 🔶Join the Channel https://www.youtube.com/@UnitedStatesOfZ/join 🔶Patreon https://www.patreon.com/monsieurz/membership 🔶Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/MrZ_Official/ #alternatehistory #history #rome #romanempire #ancient

Originally Aired Sep 10, 2025 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City never occurred? Would the United States invade Iraq and Afghanistan? Would the "Pivot to China" have been made earlier? Would John Kerry beat George W. Bush? We will Never Forget their tragic deaths and those of the First Responders whose heroic efforts provided aid in the aftermath of one of the greatest tragedies in American history. Originally Aired Jul 25, 2025 In today's alternate history scenario we ask what if the Samurai Daimyo Blessed Justo Takayama Ukon accepted the offer from the Spanish Governor of the Philippines, Juan de Silva, to conduct a "Crusade" with Spain (and maybe Portugal) of the Tokugawa Shogunate in Japan? Could he survive to see the invasion? Could the Spanish juggle both the Eighty Years' War and a Japanese Crusader King? Would Spain rule Japan directly, or install a new Shogunate, or even restore the Emperor? Would Christianity, or 'Kirishitan' spread in Japan, morph into something else, or wither away with time and Samurai revolts?
