10/2/26 - Trump calls out own Supreme picks, Gives himself an A+, 80 percent disapprove of inflation
2026/10/02
Guest: Abdul-Hakim Shabazz
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing new polling showing overwhelming disapproval of President Trump’s handling of inflation and the cost of living. He argues Republicans were elected to fix affordability and cannot simply fall back on the argument that Democrats would be worse when voters continue to feel squeezed by groceries, housing, and gas.
The discussion also turns to a new Secretary of State poll showing Max Engling narrowly ahead of Beau Bayh, with Greg Ballard and Libertarian Laurie Shillings trailing. Rob questions the poll’s credibility because it was commissioned by a group supporting Engling, but says even its own numbers suggest the Republican nominee is in a much weaker position than he should be.

10/1/26 - Braun suspends gas tax again, Dems block stock trade ban, Court says Trump⧸DOJ colluded
2026/10/01
Guest: Niki Kelly
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing Governor Mike Braun’s latest extension of Indiana’s gas-tax suspension, along with a new diesel-fuel exemption for certain farmers and timber harvesters. Rob argues the moves are politically timed around the election and says the bigger issue is why the state collects so much in taxes that it can repeatedly afford to suspend them.
The discussion also turns to congressional spending, after a report found House members used $6.7 million in taxpayer money for meals and lodging under a reimbursement system that does not require receipts. Rob singles out Indiana Congressman Jim Baird’s nearly $40,000 in expenses and argues the program reflects the broader lack of accountability in Washington.
Also on the show, Niki Kelly of the Indiana Capital Chronicle joins Rob to discuss Braun’s continued suspension of the gas tax and the state’s approach to diesel-fuel relief.

10/1/26 - Statehouse Happenings: Another Bizarre GOP Proposal on Property Taxes
2026/10/01
Yet another proposal on how to "fix" property taxes has emerged from prominent members of the Indiana GOP. This time from Senators Ryan Mishler and Chris Garten. The newest proposal would encourage communities to eliminate property taxes while raising local income taxes.
The kicker? The income tax increases would be greater for many than they're saving in property taxes. Why won't the GOP get serious about demanding local government reforms or addressing assessments which are the actual cause of skyrocketing property taxes? Rob Kendall and Jim Merritt discuss on this week's Statehouse Happenings.

9/30/26 - Rick Snyder explains bail amendment, Matt Bair remembered, Jack Smith battles Congress
2026/09/30
Guest: Rick Snyder
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob criticizing a new Indiana property-tax proposal that would let local governments raise income taxes in exchange for phasing out property taxes on owner-occupied homes. He argues the plan simply shifts the tax burden instead of reducing it and says meaningful reform has to begin with forcing local governments to spend less.
Rob also argues the proposal reveals a broader problem with how lawmakers view taxpayer money, pointing to Ryan Mishler’s comment that local governments should decide how to use “their money.” He says Indiana Republicans keep producing plans that preserve or increase government revenue rather than delivering actual tax relief.
Also featured is a “Backstory Indiana” segment from Producer Jason looking back at the life of Matt Bair and the story behind his lasting connection to Indiana.

9/29/26 - Mitch Daniels joins the show, Engling says he's keeping Sherfick cash, Trump hits new low
2026/09/29
Guests: Mitch Daniels, Garrett Duncan
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing an upcoming Senate vote on legislation aimed at restricting stock trading by members of Congress and their families. He argues lawmakers should not be able to use information unavailable to the public to profit from the market and questions whether voter ID language was added to the bill to make sure it ultimately fails.
The discussion also turns to ongoing problems with the U.S. Postal Service, including millions of complaints about missing packages and frustration with its Informed Delivery system. Rob says there are plenty of hardworking postal employees, but argues the organization itself appears to have serious structural problems that have made mail service less dependable.
Also on the show, Producer Jason takes a look back at the history of Roselyn Bakery, tracing the rise of the beloved Indiana chain and the legacy it left behind.

9/28/26 - Engling won't condemn Diego, Indy Reporter on Sherfick, GOP fears perfect storm
2026/09/28
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob focusing on the increasingly competitive Secretary of State race and Max Engling’s fundraising problems. He revisits Engling’s selection over David Shelton and questions the campaign’s decision to accept a reported $50,000 contribution from Michael Sherfick, whose criminal history has drawn renewed scrutiny.
Rob also criticizes the Engling campaign’s response to questions about Sherfick and argues the controversy raises broader concerns about his relationships with prominent Indiana Republicans, including Micah Beckwith and Diego Morales. He says candidates seeking statewide office should be held to a higher standard when it comes to donors and political associations.

9/25/26 - Engling's $50,000 felon problem, Commercial property taxes skyrocket, Trump-Xi Summit
2026/09/25
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob raising new questions about Indiana Republicans’ ties to Michael Sherfick, citing his criminal history and a newly reported $50,000 donation to Secretary of State candidate Max Engling. Rob also revisits Micah Beckwith’s previous explanation of his relationship with Sherfick after a new photo surfaced showing the two together again.
The discussion also turns to another alleged abuse of Flock cameras, this time involving a Hancock County sheriff’s deputy accused of conducting thousands of improper searches and facing hundreds of criminal charges. Rob says the growing number of serious misuse cases has changed his position and argues the cameras should now be banned, at least until public trust and meaningful safeguards can be restored.
Also featured is another installment of Producer Jason’s “Backstory Indiana,” exploring the history and eventual demise of the once-popular Burger Chef restaurant chain.

9/25/26 - Statehouse Happenings - IMPD Charges Bring New Call to Ban Flock Cameras
2026/09/25
The Indiana law enforcement community was rocked this week with the announcement of charges against five IMPD employees related to abuse of flock camera data. The shocking details have fueled an ever-growing call ban the controversial cameras. On this week's Statehouse Happenings, Rob Kendall and Jim Merritt discuss if it is time for lawmakers to step in and put a stop to their use in communities across the state.

9/24/26 - Ballard's big haul, Judge skeptical on Trump ban, More states move Dem
2026/09/24
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob reacting to charges against five IMPD officers accused of repeatedly misusing Flock cameras to track spouses, romantic partners, and other citizens. He argues the allegations validate many of the privacy concerns surrounding the technology and says lawmakers now bear the burden of proving the system can ever be trusted.
The discussion also turns to a federal judge ordering the White House to restore press credentials for CNN, MSNBC, and Politico. Rob says the ruling was predictable because the administration failed to follow established due-process requirements, and argues the dispute is another example of political leaders focusing on personal battles instead of issues that materially improve people’s lives.

9/23/26 - Trump sued over ban, Ballard pulls from Engling, Senate moves toward Dems
2026/09/23
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob breaking down the increasingly unpredictable Secretary of State race and the impact Greg Ballard could have on Republican Max Engling. Rob argues Ballard is drawing support, money, and credibility from traditional Republicans while Engling struggles to separate himself from the party establishment and Diego Morales.
The discussion also turns to Indiana public schools facing tighter budgets, school-choice competition, and growing pressure to seek referendums or make cuts. Rob argues schools are finally being forced to operate with the kind of financial accountability and competition that businesses and families deal with every day.
The show also debuts “Backstory Indiana,” as Producer Jason tells the story of Marsh Supermarkets’ long history in Indiana and the financial struggles that ultimately led to the company’s collapse.

9/22/26 - Richard Allen appeal, Trump says Mamdani has great potential, Missouri map reinstated
2026/09/22
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing Richard Allen’s appeal in the Delphi murders case and whether he received a fair trial. He focuses on the appellate judges’ questions about Allen’s mental state, excluded evidence, and the trial judge’s rulings, arguing the defense appeared to get a more sympathetic hearing this time around.
The discussion also turns to Greenwood approving Indiana’s first Buc-ee’s, an $85 million project with 120 gas pumps and a massive retail store. Rob says the bigger issue is what rapid growth does to a community’s identity, arguing towns increasingly lose their history, character, and sense of place as development becomes driven almost entirely by economics.

9/21/26 - Braun gives diesel the finger, Trump bans everyone, Outside money dominates SOS race
2026/09/21
Guest: Stephen Whitmer
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing the financial and political impact of soaring gas prices, arguing Republicans have failed to deliver despite controlling Washington. He says the Iran war has made fuel costs an unavoidable daily reminder for voters and warns that Republicans could pay heavily for it in the midterms.
The discussion also turns to Governor Mike Braun’s decision to suspend gas taxes while leaving Indiana’s much higher diesel tax untouched. Rob says the policy exposes how government picks winners and losers, while higher diesel costs still get passed along to everyone through more expensive goods and transportation.
Also, Stephen Whitmer guests and discusses out of state money in Secretary of State race and incentives for data centers.

9/18/26 - Stop data center incentives, Pence says no plans for 2028, Another IEDC boss named
2026/09/18
Today’s episode of The Rob Kendall Show opens with Rob discussing the soaring cost of groceries, gas, and everyday living, and his frustration that neither political party seems willing to seriously address it. He also turns to Indiana’s rapid data-center growth, arguing the best way to rein it in is to end taxpayer-funded incentives and make companies pay their full share.
The discussion also turns to Indiana’s election-enforcement system and complaints involving Secretary of State candidate Max Engling. Rob argues the system is fundamentally broken because political appointees can simply decline to hear serious campaign-finance complaints, including questions surrounding a $60,000 contribution and a separate event tied to a Banks-affiliated group.
