Episode #30 What If God Already Told You? How to Know God’s Will and Take the Next Step
2026/09/30
What If God Already Told You? How to Know God’s Will and Take the Next Step
Have you ever asked God, “What’s next?”—only to feel like you’re still waiting for an answer?
What if God isn’t withholding the next instruction?
What if He’s lovingly waiting for us to respond to the one He’s already given?
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored, Jenny and Shelley talk honestly about how to know God’s will, recognize His direction, and take the next step in faith—even when we wish God would just hand us the entire map.
Because sometimes we’re praying for clarity about what’s next when God is asking us to be faithful with what He has already placed in front of us.
We’ll talk about:
How to recognize what God may already be asking you to do
Why God often reveals the next step one step at a time
The difference between waiting on God and avoiding obedience
How Scripture, prayer, and wise counsel can help us discern God’s direction
Why every thought, opportunity, or feeling isn’t necessarily a message from God
What to do when you’re tempted to keep asking for another confirmation because you don’t like the answer you already received
And how to move forward when you don’t know the whole plan
Our encouragement for you is simple:
You may not need the whole map. You may just need the next faithful step.
If you’ve been asking, “God, what do You want me to do next?” this conversation might be exactly what you need to hear.
Main Scripture: Deuteronomy 5:33
If this episode encouraged you, share it with a sister who might be asking God the same question. And come join us inside the Abundantly Favored Inner Circle for more faith, mindset, encouragement, and sisterhood.

Episode #29 Change What You Expect, Change What You See: Faith & Mindset in Midlife
2026/09/23
Episode 29: Change Your Expectations, Change What You See
What are you expecting?
Because what we expect affects what we look for—and what we look for affects what we notice.
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, we’re taking a deeper look at expectations and the powerful role they play in our faith, mindset, words, and everyday lives.
We’re talking about where our expectations come from, how they influence the way we show up, and whether what we’re expecting actually lines up with what we’ve been praying for.
Psalm 5:3 reminds us that we can bring our requests to God and then watch and wait with expectation. But there’s an important distinction: we can expect God’s goodness without demanding a specific outcome.
What if expecting something good doesn’t mean assuming we know exactly what God will do?
What if it means trusting the One who holds our future?
Whether you’re in the middle of a major life transition, waiting on an answer to prayer, stepping into something new, or simply trying to cultivate a healthier Christian mindset, this conversation will challenge you to take a closer look at what you’re expecting—and what those expectations might be causing you to see.
✨ In this episode, we talk about:
How your expectations shape what you notice
The connection between mindset, faith, and expectations
Where our expectations come from
How expectations affect the way we speak and show up
Expecting God’s goodness without trying to control the outcome
Trusting God with your future
Learning to look for what God may be doing in your life
So, friend… what are you expecting?
Because it just might change what you see.
Scripture: Psalm 5:3

Episode #27 Don’t Quit Before the Harvest: A Christian Mindset for Women in Midlife
2026/09/09
Don’t Quit Before the Harvest
Have you ever wondered, “Why am I doing all of this if I’m not seeing any results?”
You’re showing up. You’re praying. You’re growing. You’re putting in the effort…yet sometimes it feels like nothing is happening.
What if growth is happening beneath the surface? What if the harvest is already forming—even though you can’t see it yet?
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, Jenny and Shelley talk about something every woman experiences: those seasons when you’re doing your best, but you’re tired of waiting for the results.
Inspired by Galatians 6:9, they talk about perseverance, discouragement, trusting God’s timing, and why we can’t always measure what God is doing by what we can see.
Sometimes the prayers you’ve been praying are making a difference. Sometimes the seeds you’ve planted are taking root. And sometimes, God is working behind the scenes in ways you could never have imagined.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, or wondering whether your efforts are making a difference, this episode is for you.
Don’t quit before the harvest.
Keep showing up. Keep praying. Keep planting. Keep trusting.
Because God may be doing far more than you realize.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

Episode #26:Christian Mindset: How to Trust God and Expect Good Things
2026/09/02
Christian Mindset: How to Trust God and Expect Good Things
26 episodes. Countless conversations. Lots of laughter. And SO many reminders of God’s faithfulness. ❤️
Can you believe it? Abundantly Favored is celebrating its half birthday! 🎉
What started as two sisters having conversations about faith, mindset, self-talk, and God’s truth has grown into a community of women choosing to live more intentionally and abundantly.
So for this special milestone episode, we asked ourselves a simple question:
If you forgot everything else we’ve talked about over the past 25 episodes, what are the 10 things we hope you NEVER forget?
And WOW…this list is good.
We’re looking back at the lessons, truths, and reminders that keep showing up again and again—because sometimes the messages we need most aren't new. We just need to hear them again.
In this episode, we’re talking about:
✨ Why your words matter✨ The power of your thoughts and mindset✨ Why you don't have to believe every thought you think✨ What it means to take your thoughts to God✨ Letting go of the things that were never yours to carry✨ Learning to recognize God’s faithfulness—even in the hard seasons✨ And the reminder we want to leave you with most:
You are more abundantly favored than you realize. 💕
Being abundantly favored doesn't mean life will always be easy. It doesn't mean every prayer will be answered the way we hoped or that we’ll never struggle. It means we are deeply loved and deeply known by God.
Whether you've been listening since Episode 1 or you're brand new to the Abundantly Favored family, pull up a chair, celebrate with us, and let these 10 reminders speak to your heart.
Because maybe you don't need another new thing to learn today.
Maybe you just need to remember what you already know. ❤️
🎧 Listen in—and then tell us: Which of these 10 reminders did YOU need to hear today?

Episode #25 We Showed Up. God Showed Off.
2026/08/26
We Showed Up. God Showed Off.
Have you ever said yes to something without really knowing what was going to happen—and then watched God do something you never could have planned?
That’s exactly what happened to us at the Christian Product Expo in St. Charles, Missouri. We went hoping to make a few connections, learn some things, and figure out where Abundantly Favored fit in this new world of Christian publishing and ministry.
Instead, God showed off. ✨
In this episode, we’re taking you behind the scenes of an unforgettable weekend filled with unexpected connections, new friendships, powerful conversations, prayer, encouragement, and more than a few “God, are You SERIOUS right now?!” moments.
We’ll share how one person’s simple encouragement led us to CPE, how God placed the right people in the room at exactly the right time, and how some of the women we met introduced us to a sisterhood we didn’t even know we needed.
And there’s a bigger lesson in all of it:
Sometimes God’s answer to your prayer isn’t an opportunity. Sometimes it’s a PERSON.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you belong, whether you’re ready, or whether you should take that next step before you have the whole plan figured out, this episode is for you.
You don’t have to know exactly what’s on the other side of the door. Sometimes you just have to be willing to walk through it.
Because when we show up in faith, we leave room for God to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine.
📖 Ephesians 3:20
Come hear the story behind the story—and be reminded that the people God puts in your path may be part of the answer you’ve been praying for all along. 💕

Episode #24 What's in Your Cart?
2026/08/19
🛒 WHAT’S IN YOUR CART?
No, we’re not just talking about Target. 😂
Sometimes we walk into life carrying things we never intended to pick up—worry, guilt, other people’s opinions, comparison, old regrets, and responsibilities God never asked us to carry.
And before we know it, our cart is FULL… and we’re exhausted.
But what if it’s time to start asking:
Does this belong in my cart?Did God put it there? And if He didn’t… why am I still carrying it?
In this week’s episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, we’re talking about the things we’re carrying and how Jesus invites us to exchange those burdens for His peace.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
🎧 Grab your coffee, take a walk, and listen in. You might just discover there are a few things in your cart that need to go back on the shelf. ❤️

Episode #23 Lower Your Shoulds
2026/08/12
Lower Your Shoulds | Stop Living Under the Weight of "Should"
How many times have you told yourself...
"I should be further along."
"I should have it all together."
"I should be doing more."
That one little word—should—can fill our hearts with guilt, pressure, and the feeling that we're never enough.
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, we're talking about how to stop living under impossible expectations and start living in God's grace. Together we'll uncover where our "shoulds" come from, why perfection is a moving target, and how God never asked us to earn His love.
We'll also share five practical mindset shifts to help you:
✨ Recognize expectations God never gave you
✨ Let go of perfectionism
✨ Extend grace to yourself
✨ Embrace being a work in progress
✨ Believe that, through Christ, you are enough for today
Key Scripture:
📖 2 Corinthians 12:9 – "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."
If you've been carrying the weight of "should," this conversation is for you.
💛 We'd love to hear from you!

Episode #22 Martha, Girl... Sit Down
2026/08/05
Martha, Girl... Sit Down
Luke 10:41 (NIV)
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things."
Have you ever been so busy taking care of everyone else that you forgot to enjoy the life God gave you?
Friend... welcome to the club.
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, we're taking a fresh, funny, and encouraging look at one of the Bible's most relatable women—Martha. If you've ever overthought a text message, stressed over vacation packing, worried about your kids or grandkids, replayed a conversation that never happened, or created a whole story in your head from a social media post... you're going to feel seen (and probably laugh a little, too!).
We'll unpack the familiar story of Martha and Mary and discover that Martha wasn't doing anything wrong—she was serving. The real issue wasn't her activity; it was the weight she was carrying. So many of us are exhausted not because we're doing too much, but because we're carrying responsibilities, pressure, and worries that God never asked us to carry.
In this conversation, we'll talk about:
Why Martha gets an unfair reputation.
The difference between being busy and being burdened.
How overthinking steals our peace.
The imaginary problems we create before they even exist.
Why you are not responsible for everyone else's feelings, choices, or happiness.
What it looks like to finally sit down—emotionally, spiritually, and mentally—and trust God with what He's already holding.
This week's challenge is simple but powerful: Ask yourself, "What am I carrying that God never asked me to carry?" Write down three things and intentionally hand them back to God.
If you've been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or like the weight of the world is resting on your shoulders, this episode is your reminder that you don't have to hold everything together. God never asked you to.

Episode #21: When Your Prayers and Your Thoughts Don't Match
2026/07/29
When Your Prayers and Your Thoughts Don't Match
Have you ever prayed, "God, Your will be done," while secretly expecting the answer to be no?
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, Jenny and Shelley dive into the disconnect that so many of us experience between what we pray and what we actually believe. We often say we trust God, yet our thoughts are filled with doubt, fear, and lowered expectations.
Using Matthew 21:22 and Ephesians 3:20 as the foundation, we're talking about why surrender doesn't mean settling, how past disappointments can quietly shape our faith, and why God may be inviting you to expect more—not because life will be perfect, but because He is a good Father who delights in His children.
Together we'll explore:
Why many Christians confuse surrender with expecting less.
How disappointment can become a filter that limits our faith.
The difference between praying safe prayers and praying honest, faith-filled prayers.
Why God's plans are often far bigger than anything we could imagine.
How to begin praying with greater trust, hope, and expectation.
We'll also share personal stories of times when God exceeded our expectations—from books and speaking opportunities to unexpected doors He opened along the way.
This week, we invite you to pray two simple prayers:
✨ "God, Your will be done."✨ "Help me stop limiting what You can do."
Because trusting God's plan doesn't mean expecting less—it means believing He may have something even better than you've imagined.
Scripture: Matthew 21:22 | Ephesians 3:20

Episode #19: From Scarcity to Abundance: What Are You Focusing On?
2026/07/15
Have you ever noticed how two people can walk through the exact same situation, yet one sees possibility while the other only sees problems?
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, we're talking about the powerful difference between a scarcity mindset and an abundance mindset—and why what you focus on shapes so much of your life.
If you've ever caught yourself thinking...
"There's never enough time."
"Everyone else gets the opportunities."
"I'm too late."
"I don't have what it takes."
...this conversation is for you.
Together, we'll explore what Jesus meant when He said He came so we could have life "to the full" (John 10:10) and how we can begin noticing God's provision, opportunities, and blessings that may have been right in front of us all along.
We'll also share practical ways to shift your perspective, train your mind to recognize God's goodness, and replace thoughts of lack with hope, purpose, and expectancy.
This week's challenge is simple but life-changing: spend seven days intentionally looking for evidence of God's abundance.
Because sometimes the biggest miracle isn't that our circumstances change...
It's that our perspective does.
Join us as we learn to stop focusing on what's missing and start celebrating the God who has already given us so much.

Ep. #18 Mid-Year Check-In: Who Are You Becoming?
2026/07/08
Before you jump into the second half of the year, it's time for a heart check—not a performance review.
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, Shelley and Jenny invite you to pause, reflect, and celebrate the growth God has been doing in your life. Instead of focusing on what you haven't accomplished, discover why God cares more about who you're becoming than what you're achieving.
Together, we'll talk about:
How to recognize the progress you may have overlooked.
Why your thoughts and words reveal your growth.
Celebrating answered prayers, new habits, and quiet victories.
Letting go of perfection and embracing God's faithfulness.
Becoming the woman God created you to be—one faithful step at a time.
Whether this year has been full of victories, unexpected detours, or a little of both, this conversation will encourage you to look back with gratitude and move forward with hope.
Key Scripture: Philippians 3:13–14 (NIV)

Ep. #17 Before the Fireworks: Celebrate How Far You've Come
2026/07/01
As we celebrate America's 250th birthday and gather for parades, family traditions, and fireworks, we're taking a moment to pause and reflect on something we often overlook—how far God has brought us.
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, sisters Jenny and Shelley share favorite Fourth of July memories from growing up in small-town Iowa and explore a powerful question:
When was the last time you celebrated what God has already done in your life?
So many of us spend our days focused on the next goal, the next challenge, or the next thing that needs fixing. We rarely stop to acknowledge the growth, strength, wisdom, and faith God has developed in us along the way.
Together, we'll discuss:
✨ Why it's important to celebrate your progress, not just your goals
✨ What freedom looks like in this season of life
✨ How fear, comparison, guilt, and limiting beliefs can keep us stuck
✨ The connection between awareness, gratitude, and true freedom
✨ The legacy you're building through your faith, relationships, and daily choices
✨ The "Fireworks Five" challenge that will help you notice God's goodness and faithfulness
Using Galatians 5:1 as our guide, we'll talk about the freedom Christ offers and how gratitude can transform what we notice, what we believe, and who we're becoming.
Whether you're navigating a new season, reflecting on lessons learned, or simply looking for encouragement, this episode will remind you that God has been faithful every step of the way—and He's not finished with your story.
Before the fireworks light up the sky, take a moment to celebrate something else:
The prayers God has answered. The battles you've survived. The growth you've experienced. The freedom you've found. And the abundant life God is still inviting you to live.

Ep. #16 Kicking Mr. Mediocrity Off Your Shoulder
2026/06/24
Episode 16: Kicking Mr. Mediocrity Off Your Shoulder
Have you ever heard that little voice in your head whispering:
"You're not qualified."
"You're too old."
"You're too late."
"Why even try?"
In this episode of the Abundantly Favored Podcast, sisters Jenny and Shelley share a powerful lesson they learned years ago while attending sales school in Nashville—a lesson about a character called Mr. Mediocrity.
Mr. Mediocrity isn't a real person, but his voice is one many of us know all too well. He's the voice of doubt, fear, insecurity, and limiting beliefs that tries to convince us we're not enough and keeps us from stepping into the life God has called us to live.
Drawing inspiration from Exodus 4:12, we explore how to recognize those negative thoughts, compare them to God's truth, and stop allowing fear to become the narrator of our story.
In this episode, we share 10 practical ways to kick Mr. Mediocrity off your shoulder, including:
• How to recognize negative self-talk
• Why every thought isn't necessarily true
• Using Scripture to combat lies
• Speaking to yourself the way God speaks to you
• Replacing worst-case thinking with faith-filled expectation
• Remembering God's faithfulness in your life
• Choosing progress over perfection
• Becoming the woman God created you to be
If you've ever struggled with self-doubt, comparison, fear, or feeling stuck, this conversation will encourage you to replace lies with truth and move forward with confidence and faith.
Remember: You don't have to believe everything you think. Mediocrity is not your calling. Abundance is.
