In this episode of After Hours Arc, join me in our second recap for BLACK TORCH! This episode was packed with not so much action, but instead it gave me so many questions! From Ichicha's demeanour and the backstory I'm hoping explains it all, Jiro's wild escape and we even find out Gramps has a deep connection with the Bureau of Espionage. Being two episodes in, this has definitely been a slow burn type of reveal and I'm absolutely here it! I'm so happy we are recapping this series this Summer Season! I also hint at the twitch vibe I've been building, but you can catch that in the next Vibe Check I record. ⭐🎧 New episodes drop weekly — come recap and relive anime one arc at a time. -🎙️Join the Community Discord: https://discord.gg/kgj3svfhrM -Listen to the Break-downs: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/after-hours-arc/id1884184288 -Twitch : https://www.twitch.tv/afterhoursarc -Support the Podcast: https://patreon.com/AfterHoursArcPodcast?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLink - Follow After Hours Arc: X (Twitter): https://x.com/AfterHoursArc

In this episode of After Hours Arc, join me in starting our Summer recaps off right! BLACK TORCH is here and I think it was a fantastic first episode! I walk us through the season premiere, giving my takes and reactions from my manga-free POV. Going into this anime blind the only things I knew was it was about a teenager Shinobi, who could talk to animals and that it was like a supernatural thriller. I share my excitement about our main characters Jiro and our new but questionable feline friend Rago who’s not what I was expecting at all. From an intense battle with a Mononoke to getting ambushed by the Bureau of Espionage and all the amazing and artistic animation that literally exceeding any expectations I could have had. Here is the YouTube reaction if you want the visual element I’ve added https://youtu.be/VExJ-c0ndoM?is=KeurU89-_QlnJ6U8 ⭐🎧 New episodes drop weekly — come recap and relive anime one arc at a time.

I bring up all the feelings Go For It Nakumura! has given me, what a roller coaster Daemons of the Shadow Realm has been and why I dropped Eren the Southpaw. I also get into the Isekai Office Worker and Tamon's B-Side English dub releases going on, and why they are really helping bridge the gap between Spring and Summer! On tonight’s episode of After Hours Arc, we head into Episode 11 of Witch Hat Atelier — The Test in Serpentback. What starts as a disagreement with Qifrey turns into one of the most revealing character episodes of the season, giving us a glimpse into Richeh’s past, her relationship with her brother, and why she clings so fiercely to her own style of magic. Meanwhile, Coco begins discovering her own magical strengths, Qifrey drops some surprisingly inspiring lessons, and Master Olruggio continues proving why he's one of the best mentors in the series. As the apprentices arrive at Serpentback Cave, the Second Test begins — and it looks far more dangerous than anyone expected. On tonight's episode of After Hours Arc, Episode 10 of Witch Hat Atelier hits hard. While Coco recovers in the hospital after collapsing from exhaustion, Tartah faces his Silverwash Syndrome head‑on — and ends up creating a brand‑new spell with her. What starts as panic turns into one of the most beautiful moments of growth in the series, giving Tartah hope for the first time. Qifrey gets dragged into helping with a fire in town, the Brimmed Caps move quietly in the background, and we end with Coco and Tartah sharing a soft moment that might be the start of something more?? I also get into my current watchlist — practicing reactions with Tamon’s B‑Side and accidentally binging 48 episodes of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime after my first recording crashed. In this episode of After Hours Arc, Coco faces her darkest moment yet in Witch Hat Atelier's Episode 9. After a day of spell mishaps and learning the truth behind the Five Witch Tests, she’s pulled into a terrifying dream where her mother, Agott, and even the brimmed cap confront her fears — “behold, which your avarice for magic has wrought.” Meanwhile, Qifrey’s secret attempt to dissect the twin bottle spell spirals into disaster when the masked brimmed cap appears. A tense, emotional chapter that pushes both Coco and Qifrey to their limits. 🎧⭐ New episodes drop weekly — follow along as I recap and review anime one arc at a time.

In this episode of After Hours Arc, I recap Episode 8 of Witch Hat Atelier, where Coco and Agott’s capture with the Knights Moralis turns into a full standoff. Richeh blasts in and burns the pennants (“I had to rewind it because it happened so fast”), Qifrey steps in with the Rain Cleaver, and the Knights back off. But the real danger starts when Qifrey notices Coco’s ink vial is still full and panics. Their trip to Kalhn reveals it’s tied to a forbidden spell and after a bright flash of light, Nolnoa suddenly remembers nothing? Meanwhile, Coco learns Tartah’s “silverwash” eyes make becoming a witch nearly impossible. Episode 8 raises the stakes again: forbidden magic, missing memories, and Qifrey’s obsession closing in. 🎧⭐ New episodes drop weekly — follow along as I recap and review anime one arc at a time.

In this episode of After Hours Arc, vibe check with me as I talk about testing out video recording, why the audio betrayed me, and how that spiraled into a special re‑record just for here. Then we drift into anime: my surprising 180 on Daemons of the Shadow Realm, how episode one had me ready to tap out, and why episode two completely flipped the switch for me. From Witch Hat Tuesdays to dropping Eren the Southpaw, to getting hooked on Gabby and Gabriel’s whole dynamic — it’s all here. I get into the humor, the darkness, the daemons, the dub vs. sub situation, and the little storytelling details that have been keeping me locked in. A cozy, low‑pressure check‑in to unwind with while I reorganize, experiment with video ideas, and figure out how to bring more community energy into After Hours Arc. In this episode of After Hours Arc, join me as I recap Episode 7 of Witch Hat Atelier, where a simple storm rescue turns into the most intense moment of the season for Agathe and Coco. What starts as a routine mission escalates fast. Qifrey parts an entire river with the Rain Cleaver, Olruggio pushes Agott to rethink what magic is for, and Coco ends up hanging off a cliff in the mud trying to save a boy trapped under a boulder. Agott's self‑doubt finally cracks open, leading to a full mental spiral before she unleashes her brightest spell yet to distract the crowd. Using everything she learned in Episode 6, Coco pulls off her first real emergency spell and manages to save him, proving her determination isn’t just talk. But just as the girls catch their breath, the Knights Moralis descend, bind them with silver‑white pennants, and Easthies himself steps in with zero mercy. By the end, Coco and Agott are captured, the riverbed has mysteriously turned to sand, and the threat of forbidden magic hangs over everything. The stakes for the atelier just shot way up 🎧⭐ New episodes drop weekly — follow along as I recap and review anime one arc at a time.

In this episode of After Hours Arc, I run through a mix of Isekai series. This lineup ended up being way more entertaining than I expected. I get into The World’s Finest Assassin , Misfit at Demon King Academy, A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation, Konosuba, Isekai Office Worker, and Arifureta. Each one hits a totally different lane: comedy, overpowered fantasy, slow‑life chill, and full chaotic energy. What surprised me most is how differently these isekai land. Some are messy and unhinged, some are cozy, and some are way better than their tropes should allow. A few definitely caught me off guard in the best way. Overall, it’s a solid mix of isekai comedy, OP Main Characters, slow‑life fantasy, and survival‑style isekai, and a reminder that not every show has to hit the same way to be worth watching. 🎧⭐ New episodes drop weekly — follow along as I recap and review anime one arc at a time.
