Sean is back from Sweden. Robert saw a hat trick. The guys get into everything from Sweden's version of the Jets and Giants to the fact that Marco Sturm might be a really good coach. They also survey the Dylan Larkin/Kirill Marchenko/Connor Hellebuyck drama before wrapping with an honest discussion about the relative importance of big scoops in journalism.

Sean is in Sweden and full of coffee. Robert is in Dallas, where Roope Hintz and Nathan MacKinnon just got done punching each other. Today's show was recorded Wednesday morning on account of Earth is round and Time Zones. Sean begins (2:31) by educating us all about the sport of Bandy, which is real (and really cold), and also a sport Jere Lehtinen grew up playing. Sean then sits down in Sweden with Hannes Andersson (14:34), CEO of Elite Prospects. Hannes talks about his own journey with the company, the evolution of "the IMDB of Hockey," and how he has to marry sentimentality with good business sense. The show wraps up (27:31) with the guys discussing Sean's upcoming international hockey debut, as well as Igor Shesterkin's season-ending injury, and how much we still have to learn about the long-term effects of the demands of modern goaltending.

Sean is trying to get out of jury duty, and Robert is still hung up on Finnish hockey. The first half of today's show (7:15) starts off with Dylan Larkin and the Red Wings, because what doesn't, these days? The guys discuss whether Larking has Totally Redeemed Himself or not, and what a trade could even look like at this point. The second half (37:20) is a survey of the Western Conference. Robert discusses San Jose without Macklin Celebrini, Dallas with Miro Heiskanen's offense, and both guys consider who and what Jack Eichel is, nowadays (other than the former star of Hot for Hockey [RIP]).

Robert is in a hockey rink, and you won't be able to guess the moment when his wifi drops. Sean carries the show effortlessly. Simon Edvinsson is practicing in Sweden, and the guys struggle to understand how that is a good thing for Detroit. They also touch on Opening Night in the NHL, some roster crunch news (and new contracts) out of Dallas, and Sean's honest assessment of why Steve Yzerman's tenure in Detroit went so differently than his time in Tampa Bay. Also, the NHL is Doing Something Popular again, and it reminds us quite a bit of Another Thing they did many years ago.

Sean and Robert are both in a regular place, for once. The Board of Governors meeting resulted in Texas expansion talk slowing down...or maybe not? It's weird, so they talk about it. Sean then tells stories about wooden sticks and black and white television, and Robert continues to crumble into dust with every anecdote about Kids These Days.

Robert was in Detroit this morning, but now he is in Dallas, where one GM is speaking again. Sean is still in Detroit, and he's also en route to where an interim GM is speaking. Everyone is speaking these days. After some preamble, Sean sits down (4:53) with Mitch Brown, Director of Scouting and Pro Content for Elite Prospects. Mitch explains (among many other things) how scouts build their rankings, what they're watching for and how they prioritize whom they scout, why adjusting to North American ice size is far less of an issue than it's often made out to be, and why he leaves pizza dough out on his counter for hours.

Sean and Robert are both in Detroit for the prospect tournament, so they decided to sit down for a Monday bonus episode and discuss what they've seen, heard, and eaten after two days of NHL-adjacent hockey. We open by discussing why Scott White's name has been mentioned in relation to the Detroit GM search, and why he also loves what he does in Dallas. From there, we discuss everything from what prospect tournaments mean now vs. what they did in Traverse City, and why a shorter preseason still allows time for some team-bonding trips. Sean and Robert are gearing up for the four-team prospect tournament in Detroit this weekend, which means a lot of Talking Shop. Today's episode begins with what the guys are anticipating about the return of actual hockey, then it goes off into the weeds of NHL media meals, Sean's history as a movie theatre employee/spy, and the only job Robert has ever been fired from (so far). Sean and Robert chat with David Carle, whom you might know as the head coach at the University of Denver, a three-time national champion, or the two-time gold medal-winning coach of the Team USA World Juniors team. He is all of those things. Today's bonus episode is wide-ranging conversation with Carle about why he'd rather talk about fishing in Alaska, how he works with his assistant coaches, why he still takes calls from NHL teams despite being happy at Denver, how he protects his college hockey team's culture in the age of NIL and revenue sharing, and the moment he knew Zeev Buium was going to be a special player.

Sean is back from vacation with a brand-new lightsaber. Robert is still talking about kindergarten. After some banter, the guys begain (7:15) by discussing Dylan Larkin's birthday, which segues into a discussion about Jim Nill, Detroit's culture, and how it was (or wasn't) built during the Ken Holland/Steve Yzerman era. After that, (20:22) the guys dig into Columbus's decision to get rid of their radio broadcast and simulcast the TV side. It turns out that this is part of a *much* bigger discussion, and you can bet your sweet bippy that Algorithmically Incorrect Hockey is going to spend the next 30 minutes talking about it, including digressions about Sean and Robert's experiences at former employers.
