Hosts Bobby Johnson and Barrett Hobbs sit down with singer-songwriter Allie Colleen for a conversation that feels more like catching up with family than a formal interview. A longtime friend of the Palace and Scoreboard crew, Allie shares stories from her early days in Nashville when she was still figuring out her sound, playing afternoon sets on sweaty decks, and learning the craft one song at a time. What started as a young songwriter with a guitar slowly turned into an artist who’s building her career the hard way, through persistence, work ethic, and a deep love for storytelling. Allie talks about moving to Nashville to attend Belmont, the early years of writing songs and posting videos online, and how playing small stages around town helped shape her voice as both a songwriter and performer. The conversation turns into a deeper look at what it really takes to survive in Music City, from learning the business on the road to figuring out where you fit in an industry that’s constantly changing. Along the way, she reflects on recent milestones including touring with Jelly Roll, navigating the realities of life on arena tours, and the lessons that only come from grinding it out night after night on the road. The group also dives into songwriting itself, exploring how melodies come together, what makes the lyrics connect with people, and why the best songs often come from the most personal places. The episode wraps with Allie doing what she does best, picking up her guitar and sharing a few songs right there in the room, including the powerful “Gasoline” and the fan favorite “Horses in Heaven” closing out a conversation that’s equal parts music, friendship, and the kind of Nashville stories you only hear inside rooms like this one. Pull up a chair and let the stories roll for another round of the Nashville Palace Podcast… where the stars drop in.   ABOUT ALLIE COLLEEN: Allie Colleen is a Country Artist, singer and songwriter who recently released her well-received debut album, STONES. Hosts Bobby Johnson and Barrett Hobbs welcome two guests to the Nashville Palace for a conversation all about the World Bass Enterprises (WBE) Champions Tournament, a brand new event set to become the largest paid bass fishing tournament in the sport's history. First up is Brian Bird, the visionary behind the tournament, who explains how the idea came about: after noticing that the two biggest leagues in professional bass fishing, Major League Fishing and the Bassmaster Elite Series, never actually compete against each other, he set out to create an event that would crown a true world champion. The Champions Tournament pits the top anglers from both leagues against one another, complete with a team format and a "Champions Cup," plus an "Average Joe" division that lets everyday anglers fish against the best in the world. Joining Brian is professional angler Ott DeFoe, the 2019 Bassmaster Classic Champion and 2011 Rookie of the Year, who's fished professionally since 2006 and gives his perspective as one of the anglers gearing up to compete. They also break down what to expect during tournament week in Nashville, including the $3.25 million total prize purse — the largest in professional bass fishing history — with $1.25 million going to the champion, plus concerts from Riley Green, Randy Houser, and Lee Greenwood, a Civil War-era cannon blast-off with Bill Dance, and an All Outdoor Expo running alongside the tournament. Opening ceremonies kick things off October 28th at Gaylord Opryland, followed by three days of competition October 29th–31st on Old Hickory Lake, a Riley Green concert at The Pinnacle on October 30th, and the Pro-Am, featuring the top 15 anglers plus celebrities, on November 1st. This episode of the Nashville Palace Podcast kicks off right where it should… inside the walls of one of the most legendary honky tonks in country music history. Hosts Bobby Johnson and Barrett Hobbs pull up a chair at the Nashville Palace and welcome Kevin and Darin Blue, the brothers behind Country Rebel, one of the biggest country lifestyle media brands in the world. What started as a couple of guys experimenting with social media has grown into a massive community of millions of fans who live and breathe country music, the outdoors, and the country way of life. Over drinks, good food, and plenty of stories, the conversation winds through the early days of Country Rebel, from tailgate parties in California parking lots to building a media company that now works with major artists and reaches millions of country fans across the internet. They talk about taking the leap to Nashville, the hustle behind growing a brand from nothing, and why being “unapologetically country” became the message behind everything they built. Along the way, the episode also dives into the history of the Nashville Palace itself. Barrett shares stories about his grandfather founding the venue in 1977, the early days of Music Valley, and the artists who helped turn the Palace into a place where real country music has lived for decades. This episode is a mix of business, country music history, entrepreneurship, and the kind of conversations that only happen when you sit down in a real honky tonk. From Lorrie taking the stage for the first time, meeting Keith Whitley, Jesse continuing to keep his father’s name in the spotlight, and discussing a buried treasure of songs that were never released from Keith Whitley. Lorrie reflects on her early days growing up around the Grand Ole Opry, learning the ropes from her father, and working her way through Nashville long before record deals came easy. She shares what it was like to be a constant presence in town while others chased the next new thing, and how persistence, work ethic, and timing eventually carved out her place in country music. Along the way, she opens up about meeting Keith Whitley, the start of their relationship, and the kind of artist and person he really was behind the spotlight. Jesse brings his own perspective to the conversation, talking about what it was like growing up surrounded by that legacy and when it truly hit him just how much his father’s music meant to people. Jesse discusses his own career and his found love of cooking, leading him to create his own cookbook. The conversation moves through stories of the road, the lasting impact of Keith Whitley’s catalog, and how a new generation of fans is rediscovering his music in a way that feels bigger than ever. In this episode, hosts Bobby Johnson and Barrett Hobbs sit down with fan-favorite Mindy Miller to talk about the journey that took her from small-town beginnings all the way to the national stage on The Voice. Mindy dives into her experience competing on The Voice, making the Top 16 on Team Snoop Dogg, and what it’s really like performing under that spotlight. From the nerves to national exposure, The Voice became a defining chapter in her story, one that opened new doors while reinforcing the years of work behind it. From hometown roots to honky tonk stages… and all the way to The Voice, this is a story about persistence, timing, and staying true to your sound. From the barstools to the stage, this is the Nashville Palace Podcast… where the stars drop in.   FOLLOW US ON SOCIALS:   Nashville Palace Podcast: Instagram – (https://www.instagram.com/thenashvillepalacepodcast/) TikTok – (https://www.tiktok.com/@thenashvillepalacepod?_r=1&_t=ZP-96AmLM0q5PT) Facebook – (https://www.facebook.com/people/The-Nashville-Palace-Podcast/61562934797510/#) Spotify – (https://open.spotify.com/show/4MwJF5cEQ1ACKhobdJqDt9) YouTube – (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPAM0jqfyw3KFAEVyij8djQ) Website – (https://www.thefamousnashvillepalace.com/podcast)   Mindy Miller: Instagram – (https://www.instagram.com/mindymillermusic/) TikTok – (https://www.tiktok.com/@mindymillermusic) Facebook – (https://www.facebook.com/mindymillermusic1/) Spotify – (https://open.spotify.com/artist/3boiFt22AGerRVK2P1ctB8) Website – (https://mindymillermusic.com/home)   The Nashville Palace: Instagram – (https://www.instagram.com/thenashvillepalace/) TikTok – (https://www.tiktok.com/@the_nashville_palace) Facebook – (https://www.facebook.com/TheNashvillePalace/) Website – (https://www.thefamousnashvillepalace.com/)   Produced and Edited by: The Cast Collective (Nashville, TN) YouTube – (‪https://www.youtube.com/@TheCastCollective) Instagram – (https://www.instagram.com/TheCastCollective) TikTok – (https://www.tiktok.com/@castcollective)
