Description

An unfiltered look at the grit, sacrifice and faith behind modern rodeo, told through the lens of Jerome and Tiffany Davis. From the early mornings on the ranch to the bright lights of PBR team competition with the Carolina Cowboys, this podcast captures what it truly means to build a life around the sport of bull riding. Jerome — a world champion and Carolina Cowboys head coach — and Tiffany – the glue that keeps it all together – open the gate on the real story: the injuries, the comebacks, the business of rodeo, the pressure of leading a team, and the responsibility of carrying Western heritage forward. Together, they share the realness of arena life — managing a ranch, mentoring young riders and navigating the evolving world of professional bull riding. Rooted in faith, resilience and hard work, THIS COWBOY LIFE isn’t just about eight seconds in the chute. It’s about the 24/7 commitment behind it — the dirt, the discipline, the community and the code that defines the Western way of life.

28 Years In, Jerome & Tiffany BOTH Forgot Their Anniversary
2026/10/22
Jerome and Tiffany Davis somehow made it 28 years without remembering their own anniversary. Tiffany’s mom had to remind them, Jerome forgot her present, and somehow the Carolina Cowboys winning that night saved him from having to buy one. They also tell the story of their engagement, which involved a rainy day, a muddy Jerome and a trip to Service Merchandise where Tiffany let him pick between two rings by asking which one was cheaper. Then they get into a wild weekend for the Cowboys, starting with one of their bulls having his best trip yet and ending with Carolina picking up two big wins in New York. Jerome and Tiffany break down the loss to Nashville, the re-ride decisions that could have changed the game, Zeke stepping in while dealing with an injury, and the scary knockout that had the entire team worried during the Arizona game. There’s also the story of a truck breaking down in Oklahoma with a trailer full of bulls, cows and calves, how a random run-in helped get them through the night, and how that same bloodline eventually produced some of the bulls Carolina sent to New York this weekend. With Kansas City up next and Vegas getting closer, Jerome talks through the Cowboys’ growing injury list, the playoff scenarios, and some of the tough decisions the team has to make before the finals. Plus, two new riders join the mix, Tiffany answers your questions from Mail From the Dirt, and Jerome and Tiffany look back at some stories from their years in rodeo. It’s another busy one on This Cowboy Life. Jerome Flew to a Trailer in the Desert Every Week to Try to Walk Again
2026/10/15
On Episode 15 of This Cowboy Life, Jerome and Tiffany Davis look back at a tough weekend in Glendale, where Carolina was one bull ride away from beating the number one team in the league. Jerome walks through the re-ride decision he can’t stop thinking about, and Tiffany does the math on what would have happened if he’d kept the score on the board. Glendale also brings back Arizona memories, and Jerome tells the story of the desert trailer, the shock needle, and the hotel in Destin, Florida that turned out to have a past. Along the way: a first dust storm, a new bull name, a women’s panel, Lisa Lockhart’s record 20 straight NFRs, and Jess Lockwood’s jeans. In Mail from the Dirt, Jerome answers whether bull riders are required to wear helmets, and when a young bull gets a rider on its back. Then it’s your YouTube comments, a roster cutoff day that could shake up the teams, and what to watch for when Carolina heads to New York. Jerome Wrecked the Van, Hitchhiked in the Rain, and Still Made Mesquite
2026/10/08
Jerome and Tiffany are back with another episode full of rodeo stories, questionable decisions and plenty of laughs. Jerome explains exactly what a “maiden spot” is after Tiffany accidentally sent the internet into a frenzy, plus they get into the rules behind cowboy hats, Jerome’s gold Resistol patch and a few stories from his early rodeo days. Then they head into the Fort Worth PBR Teams weekend, breaking down the Cowboys’ three games, including the decision to let Jess Lockwood ride after the game was already won and his massive 93.9-point ride. They also talk about Guilherme’s perfect weekend, Clay riding Benjamin Ranklin, injuries around the league and what the Cowboys need to do heading into this week. Plus, Jerome tells the story of wrecking his mom’s minivan on the way to Mesquite, they talk NFR qualifying, Derrick Begay and Colter Todd making the Finals together, answer questions from the mail and explain what a silent latch actually does. And yes, part two of the minivan story is still coming. The Time JW Hart & Jerome Told a Friend Tiffany Was a Stripper
2026/10/01
This week, Jerome finally tells the full story behind one of the best running jokes in his life — how his best friend JW Hart convinced a friend that Tiffany was a stripper, and let the rumor ride for years. It started with a restaurant sign, and a bad nickname that stuck. It ended with Tiffany getting cornered by her best friend's fiancée in the stands at a bull riding event, having no idea what she'd been up to. Beyond that, Jerome comes clean about "cheating" on Tiffany with a guest appearance on the Dale Jr. Download, which led to its own great stories — a carrot cake, a misattributed elevator wrestling match with Dale Jr. and Ross Coleman, and a kid named Camden who got tied to a tree at cowboy camp years ago. Plus, a recap of the He Paid Your Fees rodeo, a preview of this weekend's team event in Fort Worth, and an update on the tightest National Finals Rodeo qualifying race in years. Cowboy Days Came Down to the Tip of a Finger
2026/09/24
This week, Jerome and Tiffany Davis break down one of the most electric finishes in Carolina Cowboys history. With the game on the line at Cowboy Days, Adriano Salgado climbed on a re-ride bull and delivered exactly when it mattered most — but the celebration got put on hold when Arizona threw a challenge flag, challenging whether Adriano had touched the bull mid-ride. What followed was an agonizingly long review, with judges checking the footage from every angle before finally landing on the one word that decided it all: inconclusive. The place erupted all over again. Beyond the finish, it was a wild week all around — a red-eye flight home from Anaheim, a nasty wreck that had people at home covering their eyes, and almost no sleep for Jerome thanks to a 3am bull fight that had Tiffany out in her pajamas trying to keep the peace. Plus, a Mail from the Dirt segment with a twist — video messages from Cody Lambert, Justin McBride, and Michael Gaffney. Oh yeah, and maybe a Jerome-Justin McBride singalong. The Hat Cody Lambert Shamed Austin Dillon into Never Wearing Again
2026/09/17
This week, Austin Dillon joins This Cowboy Life as the show's very first guest — and he did not come empty-handed on stories. Jerome and Tiffany Davis find out how Austin became GM of the Carolina Cowboys, Jerome and Austin share stories about phone calls with Richard Childress during the first year of PBR Teams, and there's a wild story behind a college barn party that somehow only let girls through the door. Plus, the flat-brimmed hat disaster that got Austin shamed by Cody Lambert at his very first draft. Austin also opens up about the safety innovations he's trying to bring over from NASCAR — including a roll-bar foam idea for the bucking chutes and an airbag vest concept borrowed straight from MotoGP — plus the behind-the-scenes psychological tests from training camp that pushed the team's bull riders to their breaking point (you have to hear what happened with the puzzle). And of course, Mail from the Dirt brings a real debate about how judges should actually be scoring these rides, and we preview Cowboy Days! Big episode, big guest, and a big weekend ahead in Greensboro. They Rode a Race Car Elevator Straight Into 300 People Praying
2026/09/10
This week on This Cowboy Life, Jerome and Tiffany are coming off back-to-back big events — starting with an embarrassing entrance into RCR's Veterans Coffee event (you'll have to hear how) and a hilarious throwback to the time a local news anchor took a hard fall live on-air riding one of their steers. Then it's on to Ridgedale, Missouri, where a family vacation to Bass Pro Shops turned into an unexpected history lesson, followed by a full recap of a wild weekend of team bull riding — a nail-biter finish decided by a fingertip, a sleeveless rebellion the coach wasn't thrilled about, a lightning delay that killed all their momentum, and a controversial non-call that's still being argued about. Plus, a look at just how much money is actually landing in bull riders' bank accounts this season — and why it matters more than you'd think. The Time Jerome and Tiffany's Calves Ruined a Birthday Party
2026/09/03
This week on This Cowboy Life, the stories get a little wild — starting with the time 3 runaway calves led to a wild chase across the neighborhood, ending with one of them crashing straight into a little girl's birthday party. Then it's on to genetics and DNA talk and the story of a DNA mix-up years ago that, against all odds, led to one of their best bulls ever. Jerome then tells a story about his last-ditch effort to make it to Washington so he can try to qualify for the NFR. And as always, a look ahead at what's coming up this weekend, including a stacked lineup of guys coming back from injury and a trip to one of the most beautiful venues on the circuit. The Emergency Room Visit That Almost Made Them Miss Their Flight
2026/08/27
This week on This Cowboy Life, it all starts with an ER trip — Jerome dislocates his finger the night before the team's flight to Austin, and somehow, they still make it. Once they land, it's a rollercoaster of a weekend: a close win Friday, a gut-punch of a Saturday night where the team rides zero bulls and has to have a real come-to-Jesus moment in the locker room, and then one of the best Sundays in team history. Plus, the story behind Cody Lambert's legendary "the monkeys are the judges" bit, and the hallway prayer tradition that carries more meaning than most fans realize. Mail from the dirt, comments from the crowd, and a whole lot of cowboy stories — this one's got it all. What Happens When Cowboys Get Left Alone With a Shark?!
2026/08/20
Jerome and Tiffany Davis — the western world's royal couple — are back for another episode of This Cowboy Life! After a weekend in Nashville, they recap the Carolina Cowboys’ nail-biting matchup against the home team, Keyshawn Whitehorse coming through when the team needed him most, tough bull draws, and the unexpected lineup changes that unfolded behind the scenes. They also break down a scary moment when Jess had to step away mid-event for his wife, Macy, and how Derek Kolbaba stepped up on short notice to help save the day. Then, it’s time for some unforgettable Nashville stories, including celebrity run-ins with Taylor Lewan, Michael Chandler, Chris Lane, and even Kid Rock, plus the wild story of how Bernie Taupin, yes, Elton John’s legendary songwriter, ended up helping save the PBR. And, of course, they revisit the legendary tale of what happens when you leave a group of cowboys alone with a mounted hammerhead shark and a swimming pool. Jerome and Tiffany also look ahead to Austin and three straight home-team events, talk about the Cowboys moving up to third in the standings, give a shoutout to Steiner Steakhouse, and answer more fan questions in Mail from the Dirt. We Lost a Bull Overnight in Florida...
2026/08/13
Jerome and Tiffany recap a jam-packed stretch that took them from Wild West Wednesday straight into the Carolina Cowboys’ PBR Teams event in Florida. Wild West Wednesday brought a crew of cowboys from Sweden and Finland ready to take on Team USA in the dizzy bat race, front flips and all. Jerome also shares the story of hauling bulls out of Florida, including a runaway named Tijuana Joe and the legendary Swamp Monster, whose escape attempt had the whole crew holding their breath. They also look back on the Carolina Cowboys’ 2-1 weekend in Florida, including a shaky start after losing Jess Lockwood to illness, a gutsy re-ride from Guilherme, and a hard-fought win over the home team on their own turf. Jerome breaks down the PBR Teams standings heading into Nashville, where the Cowboys currently sit in 4th place. Plus, Jerome and Tiffany pay tribute to Ridin' Solo, a bull who became part of the sport’s family over the years and passed away at age 10. They also break down how bull rider contracts actually work and why team pay has been a game-changer for riders who once struggled to make ends meet week to week. From runaway bulls to Nashville stakes, this episode of This Cowboy Life has plenty to unpack. And the turkey debate rolls on. This time, it’s a naming contest, with suggestions ranging from Tiffany’s Diamond to Goober the Gobbler to Mo. Drop your pick in the comments and help us settle it! Tiffany Called Her Sister to Pick Up Luke Perry from the Airport. She Hung Up.
2026/08/06
Welcome back to This Cowboy Life with Jerome and Tiffany Davis for episode five, and the turkey debate is officially over — for now. The votes are in at 74 to 17, and the taxidermy turkey nobody agreed on last episode is staying put. The only thing left to decide? The name! Please comment your suggestions below. Jerome and Tiffany recap a big weekend at the PBR Heroes and Legends Awards in Oklahoma City, including the moment Charmayne James became the first woman ever to win the Ty Murray Top Hand Award, and the full legendary story behind Scamper, her barrel racing horse. They also talk about Elsie Frost receiving the Sharon Shoulders Award on the exact anniversary of her son Lane's passing. Jerome tells the story of his time as a stunt rider in the film 8 Seconds, including the $500 bonus check he earned when his ride on the bull "Playboy" made it into the final cut. Then there's Luke Perry. Jerome and Tiffany share the story of Tiffany's sister getting sent to pick him up from the Charlotte airport, and hanging up twice because she was convinced the whole thing was a prank. Plus, a breakdown of the Carolina Cowboys' 2-1 weekend in Oklahoma, including a judging technicality on a re-ride call that Jerome believes cost them a win, and a look ahead at roster changes with Derek Kolbaba returning from shoulder surgery and Ezekiel Mitchell stepping in for an injured Trey Kimzey as the team heads into Florida this weekend. Jerome and Tiffany Got Invited to a Hollywood Premiere. Their Truck Almost Ruined It
2026/07/30
Welcome back to another episode of This Cowboy Life with Jerome and Tiffany Davis, and this one starts with a fight already in progress — over a stuffed turkey. Jerome just got a taxidermy mount back, and Tiffany is not a fan. You'll have to weigh in yourselves on whether it stays or goes. Once they get past the turkey debate, Jerome breaks down the big PBR weekend ahead in Oklahoma City, including bringing Clay Guiton back into the lineup after a long time out and explaining exactly why "Lt. Dan" is not happening for him this season.  Tiffany also finally convinced Jerome to go to a movie theater together for the first time in over a decade, which somehow leads into the full story of working on the set of "The Longest Ride" with Nicholas Sparks and Scott Eastwood, including the time Tiffany misunderstood one word on set and ruined an entire take, and the Hollywood premiere night that nearly went sideways when their truck wouldn't start in front of everyone in the parking lot. Plus, a story about two bulls getting into it right next to Jerome's buggy that could've ended a lot worse than it did, what it actually takes to get bulls health-cleared to travel state to state, and fan questions in "Mail from the Dirt," including one about whether bull riders wear any protection where they probably should. Jerome Had to Cut Parts of His Hall of Fame Speech. Here's Why.
2026/07/23
Welcome back to another episode of This Cowboy Life with Jerome and Tiffany Davis, and this one comes straight off the biggest weekend of Jerome's career: his induction into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs. Jerome and Tiffany walk through the whole trip, including a stop at the PRCA office where they used to call in rodeo entries back in the day, a story about their buddy Ty entering them in every rodeo in the country while he'd had a few too many, and the moment Jerome received a priceless gift he’s been wanting for a long time. Tiffany gets into what it was like watching Jerome get emotional on that stage, including the parts of his speech he had to leave out entirely because he knew he wouldn't make it through them. They also cover the silent auction for Jerome's Hall of Fame back number and a hilarious story about Keith Isley and a stolen firetruck. Plus, Jerome breaks down the real difference between PRCA and PBR, gives an update on Clay Guiton getting cleared by doctors, and answers fan questions in "Mail from the Dirt," including what actually went through his mind the moment he got the call about the Hall of Fame. Tiffany and a Stranger Carried Jerome to First Class
2026/07/16
Welcome back to another episode of This Cowboy Life with Jerome and Tiffany Davis, and this one starts before they even land in Colorado. Jerome tells the story of getting hand-carried onto a first-class upgrade by a total stranger, in front of an entire plane that had no idea what they were watching. Jerome and Tiffany catch everyone up on the whirlwind of a weekend they just had at the PBR Team event in Fort Collins, including how their team pulled out a win the first night, why a 105-degree Sunday turned into one of the scariest moments of the trip, and what actually goes into coaching a PBR roster when the bulls, the draw, and the heat all decide to work against you at once. They also break down what a "re-ride" really is. They also dig into an old road story from Jerome's rodeo days that involves a broken-down van, a stranger's front door in the middle of South Dakota, and a total coincidence that still doesn't make sense years later. Plus, an update on Jerome's Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame induction happening this weekend, the Carolina Cowboys sent Jon Gruden a box to unwrap, and an update on "Ol Marketplace," Jerome's truck that's been through more drama than most people's whole vehicles combined.
