2026/10/18
You would think that maybe since the topic of this episode is TV shows and movies, we might stay on topic. But nooooo! Wednesday lost a sock, Petras keeps forgetting about his Halloween decorations, and every movie reminds us of seven others!

We actually stay mostly on topic for this one, with only the occasional forays into Frasier episodes and Wednesday’s upcoming trip to Iceland. 2026/09/12
In this episode, we discuss Mabon history, correspondences, and how to celebrate the autumnal equinox.  There are also lengthy discussions of Thanksgiving food, how to pronounce Native American place names, how to make pies, how good apple cider donuts are, and Katrina Van Tassel’s dress at the end of Sleepy Hollow.

Episode 14 - Traditions versus Eclectic Witchcraft - In which we discuss the pros and cons of each of these, along with our usual side trips into the unknown.
2026/08/15
What are the differences between practicing in a tradition versus being an eclectic, solitary practitioner? Is one better than the other? What are the pros and cons of each? Are they mutually exclusive? What is Wednesday's favorite spooky movie? Enjoy the background birdsong, and happy belated Lammas!
Episode 13 - August 12 Solar Eclipse - In which we discuss the upcoming total solar eclipse as well as our experience at Mystic South 2026
2026/08/01
In this episode, we talk about the total solar eclipse happening in Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic, and parts of Europe on August 12, as well as ideas for what types of workings to do and not do. We discuss this year's Mystic South conference in Atlanta, Lammas workshops at WSTS, and whether firing a shotgun at the eclipse out of fear is a worthwhile thing to do. It kind of all falls apart in the end as usual. We recorded this one in the early evening, so enjoy the cricket sounds throughout.
Episode 12 - Magickal Tools Ep. 2 - The Tool of Fire and Will - In which we discuss the history, use, and construction of wands, along with segues into movies and the animals in Wednesday's yard.
2026/07/18
If you have ever asked yourself: What do I do with a wand anyway? Are wands associated with air or fire?  Why can’t we agree?  Where can I get a wand?  Do I need to go to Olivander’s?  Will my wand choose me?  Can I zap Draco Malfoy with it?  Where do I get a phoenix feather?  I want to make my own wand.  How do I do that? Hey!  There are wands on my tarot cards!  What’s that about? Do I need a wand?  I have an athame already - how many pointy things do I need? then this episode is for you!
Episode 11 - To Pantheon or Not To Pantheon, That Is The Question - In which we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of working with a pantheon, and cultural respect versus cultural appropriation.

This episode includes multiple mildly-related and totally unrelated tangents, as well as enthusiastic discussions of Beatrix Potter books, the history of cats, why we don’t have gendered nouns in English, and how my cat may or may not have an online cult.  Enjoy summery lawnmowing sounds in the background!

In addition to our discussion of Litha, we fangirl over Josh Gates and all the current delicious summer vibes.  There are various rambles about Nicholas Cage movies, how S’mores are sticky, how important vultures are to the environment, how to harvest dandelions for dandelion tea, and weird squirrels.  There is also a brief rant about Bermuda grass … because summer! Please excuse some of the background noise in this episode.  It’s moving into summer and we are both running our air conditioners! In this episode, we discuss what synesthesia is, which types we have, color theory, color correspondences in magick and how synesthesia affects those correspondences in our practices, as well as how hard it used to be to find good candles, fiber arts and handicrafts, and the most awesome quilting fabrics.  We mostly manage to stay on topic for this one, with only a couple of lengthy, unrelated tangents into hand crafts and what makes the best Valentine’s Day present. All About That Bass - Meghan Trainor Faber Birren Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton Hancock’s of Paducah Woolston-Steen Theological Seminary
Episode 6 - When and When Not to Use Magick, or Don’t Blame Magick, Maybe It’s Just You - In which we discuss when and when not to use magick, as well as donuts, movies, bees, and cupcakes.
2026/05/30
We cover the usual topics of donuts and movies, along with newcomers bees and cupcakes!  Also, there is a lengthy discussion of Tom Hanks / Meg Ryan movies for some reason.  This is a long one, but stick with us while we desperately try to stay on topic, but mostly end up dissolving in laughter. Again, enjoy the happy bird sounds, the distant roar of airplanes landing at BNA, and the sound of some dude mowing his yard. Enjoy the happy birds chirping in the background!  Visit our website at www.hexenchill.com for links to books and authors that we discussed as well as supplemental material.
