To make absolutely sure this 470th episode makes it onto the server in time, dear Andreas wisely produced it before heading off on holiday. That way, he won’t have to dash around like a mad thing on the day he gets back, and “XtraChill” will be ready and waiting for you lovely fans, right on schedule on October, 15th 2026! After all the excitement last time, we’ve got two more “Song Pair Plus” for you today, along with a long-overdue return to the “Familiar Albums – Revisited” feature. There are three new additions to the “XtraChill” family, but also some rather splendid reunions with well-established members from all sorts of musical directions — so you’d better stay tuned! Let’s head into autumn with some fresh, podsafe Electronica!

Before heading off on his trip to Apulia, dear Andreas has just enough time to upload Episode 469 of “XtraChill” to the server! Following last time’s “Sixpack”, today’s playlist, on October, 1st 2026, is considerably more diverse, as it revolves around two “song pairings plus” — or, in fact, three-packs — in which a third track is inserted between two pieces of music from the same genre, creating an acoustic “disruption” — a device already tried and tested in many earlier episodes. Let’s hope for a good start to “Golden October” — today’s selection of music will certainly help to make that happen!

Late summer is showing its progressive side today, on September 15th 2026, as the playlist for this 468th episode of "XtraChill" has, quite by accident, gone rather heavily into minimal and dub techno. And since the tracks get on so splendidly together, our dear Andreas has rather cheekily heaved the whole lot into the middle of the show as a neat little “six-pack”. Enjoy that – and, of course, the two other tracks bookending the episode, one at the beginning and one to send you on your merry way!

Dear Andreas is bringing the summer break of “XtraChill” to an end today, on September, 1st 2026! Your host made intensive use of the four-week hiatus to work on the final version of his novel — but sadly, there simply wasn’t enough time! To finish it, he would have to retreat to some remote location for another four weeks of seclusion. But then he’d be leaving “XtraChill” and you, his fans, out in the rain — and surely no one could be expected to take responsibility for that! The good thing about the annual summer break is that artists and labels have plenty of time to stock up on musical supplies. And for Episode 467, Andreas was able to draw on a particularly rich pool of new material, as the eight tracks on this playlist will prove. Enjoy!

Once again, an episode of "XtraChill" came together under a fair amount of time pressure, as dear Andreas spent five days away on a "research trip" to Frankfurt am Main and Heidelberg for his novel! Despite the tight schedule, this episode was still produced and uploaded just in time for August 1st, 2026 – a real photo finish, you might say. The net label "Roo Rec.", introduced in the previous edition, receives a lot more attention today with a "triple treat", and the rest of this 466th episode is well worth listening to as well. Stay tuned – there's plenty to look forward to!

Before the heat strikes mercilessly once again, today, on July, 15th 2026, dear Andreas is shovelling another fantastic episode of XtraChill onto the server! Playlist No. 465 thrives on striking contrasts, highlighted by two stylistically very different "Threesomes": first, a selection of Minimal House courtesy of Belgium's Avenue label group, followed by a wonderfully relaxed Ambient set. Drum & Bass and a Dub Techno closing track round off this excellent musical journey, with plenty of new female artists – and male artists too – waiting to be discovered once again. Enjoy!

Dear Andreas only survived the recent heatwave in the Rhineland by making a timely escape to the considerably cooler Baltic coast to explore the beautiful city of Lübeck – a more than wise decision! Owing to the heat in the studio, and the fact that there was very little time available to produce this 464th episode of "XtraChill", today's playlist, on July, 1st 2026, comes to you in "fast mode", with minimal chat between the tracks. Taking centre stage is a wonderfully varied six-track selection, featuring no fewer than four brand-new additions to the pool of artists.

Garantiert! With the summer solstice just around the corner, we're in for a hot week starting today, on June 15th, 2026! That makes some relaxing background music all the more welcome when you're dozing away in the shade – just as dear Andreas likes to do in his hammock on the balcony. Six of today's featured artists are making their first appearance on the show, most of them turning up in two special "threesomes". One is devoted entirely to Drum & Bass, while the other brings together three Electronica tracks from different corners of the genre. Whatever your musical tastes, there's something here for everyone on this 463rd episode of "XtraChill". Guaranteed!

Juni 2026, wieder in gewohnte Fahrwasser zurück! After the big anniversary celebration episode, the "XtraChill" podcast returns to familiar territory today, on June 1st, 2026! As usual, dear Andreas has unearthed eight podsafe tracks from the depths of the internet and woven them into a beautiful playlist. This time, some familiar names take centre stage, but you can also look forward to more than two exciting new discoveries! Andreas would like to thank all listeners for the kind comments and congratulations received following the last edition.

Hipp Hipp Hurra! Hip hip hooray! Germany’s oldest still existing private music podcast celebrates its 20th anniversary today, on May 115th, 2026! When dear Andreas came across Jürgen Sutter online back in 2006 and the two of them launched “XtraChill”, hardly anyone would probably have believed that this podcast would still be around two decades later — because even after Jürgen stepped away ten years ago, the story was far from over! Such an occasion naturally deserves a proper celebration — and that is why, for only the second time in the long history of “XtraChill”, the “Golden Rule” has been temporarily suspended: namely, that no track may ever be played twice on this podcast. After all, two wonderfully loyal listeners answered the call and selected a track from the past ten years which, in their view, deserved to be heard once again today. The remaining eighteen tracks had to be chosen by Andreas from no fewer than 1,994 songs (equivalent to a staggering total running time of 8 days, 10 hours, 48 minutes and 7 seconds!) — no easy task, as you can surely imagine. Of course, this selection represents only a small snapshot of the many fantastic musical contributions featured over the past decade. Join Andreas on a little journey through time and enjoy revisiting many projects and labels, some of which are sadly no longer active today. Let us raise a glass together and hope for many more exciting episodes in the future — and you listeners have a part to play in that yourselves: buy the guests’ music online and help keep the participating labels, artists and musicians going — and, in turn, “XtraChill” as well!

The merry month of May, which takes a well-earned breather today on “Labour Day”, is nonetheless getting a bit of an early warm-up with this 360th episode of “XtraChill”, dear listeners! In keeping with the theme, there are once again two “flotte Dreier” on the playlist, ready to entertain you in their usual top-notch style with chillout, drum & bass, lo-fi electronica and minimal techno – for all those who haven’t quite finished dancing into May yet. Enjoy!

Welches? Hört rein und erfahrt mehr! Colourful and light-hearted, we’re moving through spring 2026! Today, on April 15th, we’re already well on our way through this much-loved season. Episode 459 of "XtraChill" turns its focus this time to relaxed yet stimulating chillout music, topped off with drum & bass and a touch of dub techno. Ostern steht vor der Tür, heute, am 01. April 2026! Frohe Ostern! Easter is just around the corner, today on April 1st, 2026! Our dear Andreas has returned safely (and even on time!) from Munich to hide this 458th episode of "XtraChill" among virtual tulips and daffodils, filled with sweet treats from the internet's free music scene. Go on a hunt, because there's something for every musical taste! Happy Easter!

Spring is in the air today, on March 15th, 2026, and dear Andreas is also feeling energetic and exuberant – the perfect basis for putting together a colourful playlist to entertain you fans as episode 457 of "XtraChill". The ratio of new releases to ‘old favourites’ is balanced at 50:50 today, and something so perfectly balanced is sure to promote relaxation and well-being while listening. Want to bet?

Despite the adverse weather conditions, the "carnival escape" to the unfortunately very wet Lorraine region was a nice break for dear Andreas, so that today, on March 1st, 2026, he can go to work fresh and rested to present this 456th episode to you fans! Overall, the current playlist has turned out to be a little livelier than you would expect from a podcast called "XtraChill" – but sometimes things just happen without you having any influence on them, because the selected artists (including one female artist!) definitely provide a fitting selection for the gently blossoming spring. See for yourselves!
