Life on the Ballot
2026/10/19
With Election Day just two weeks away, we must be fully cognizant that life vs death, pro-life vs. pro-abortion is on the ballot. Those we elect to office and the ideals they hold will determine what type of policies advance, one to protect life, another to take life. Furthermore, a number of states have a referendum question on the ballot, a constitutional amendment which some states are seeking to enshrine abortion in their state constitution. Jim quoted from an article from LifeNews.com dated October 14, 2026. The article states, "House Democrats' health care working group handed House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries an 84-page playbook to run if they seize control in November. It maps out what they plan to do in their first 100 hours if they take back control of Congress. At the top of their list? Abortion. In their own words, they want to 'Reestablish a federal right to abortion care and end restrictions that prevent people covered through federal health programs from receiving abortion coverage.' In other words, abortion-on-demand nationwide, and you pay for it." In other words, some will literally be voting whether or not to add life or abortion to their state constitution. On this edition of Crosstalk you also hear about the recent report from the FDA that they will not complete their abortion pill safety review until March of 2027.

2026/10/18
00:37 If Jesus was the once for all sacrifice, why is there a temple with sacrifices in the Millennial Kingdom? 4:44 Am I disrespecting God when I hear people using the Lord's name in vain and don't say anything? 8:32 How should Christians deal with another Christian who is enraptured by conspiracy theories? 12:26 What is the intermediate state and what happens to Christians during that time? 21:41 How do I encourage friends who aren't pursuing Christ like the Bible says? 27:01 Should Alcoholics Anonymous have Christians identify as Alcoholics in what they make them say about themselves? 28:37 Does the Bible have all the instructions for disciplining a child or do we also need experts? 35:43 How should young Christians go about dating in a godly manner? 38:58 How should Christians handle swearing an oath in court? 42:19 Is there any strong evidence for old earth creationism? 49:35 At what point do we reconcile those who have hurt us versus protecting ourselves? 53:39 What are your thoughts on surrogacy?

Rest in Jesus
2026/10/18
Title: Rest in Jesus Speaker: Creston Thomas Series: Matthew Date: October 18, 2026 Bible: Matthew 11:25-30 This sermon encourages believers to find spiritual rest and confidence in Jesus Christ as they engage in evangelism and face the challenges of daily life. The central message addresses the anxiety and distraction that often accompany the Christian walk, urging listeners to trust in God's sovereign plan rather than worrying about the outcomes of their efforts. The exposition highlights the intimate relationship between the Father and the Son, emphasizing that Jesus' words carry the full authority of God because they are revealed directly from the Father. Furthermore, the sermon focuses on the character of Jesus as a gentle and lowly Savior who invites those who are heavy-laden to come to Him for rest, rather than acting as a harsh taskmaster. By understanding that God has already revealed the ultimate outcome of salvation and judgment, believers are freed from the burden of controlling results and are empowered to share the gospel with boldness and peace.

24 Daniel
2026/10/18
Daniel is now in the government of the Medes and the Persians who conquered the Babylonians in October of 539 B.C. Daniel who had been in the Babylonian government of Nebuchadnezzar remained in the government in a leadership role when Darius the Mede assumed control in 539 B.C. Daniel who realized that the prophet Jeremiah had been the last prophet in the area of Judea under king Zedekiah warned him of the impending Godly judgment if Zedekiah did not follow His warnings. In his book Jeremiah received the prophecy from God as too how long the Babylonians would control Jerusalem (In Jeremiah 25:11-12 and Jeremiah 29:10). Knowing that the ruin of Jerusalem (desolations) would have a termination date, Daniel begins praying for the future of Jerusalem and the nation Israel.

This Generation?
2026/10/18
(AI Generated Summary) The sermon examines the difficult statement in Luke 21:32, arguing that Jesus refers to the first-century generation that would witness the initial signs of God's kingdom, specifically the events surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. By analyzing the Greek aorist tense and the parable of the fig tree, the message clarifies that these events mark the beginning of the redemptive process rather than its final consummation. This interpretation resolves the tension between the certainty of the timeline and the unknown date of the Parousia, emphasizing that Jesus' words remain reliable even as creation passes away. The tone is instructional and pastoral, offering reassurance that the gospel promises endure forever, providing a firm foundation for Christian hope amidst historical and eschatological uncertainty.
