26-10-11 Meet Jesus Christ
2026/10/11
Meet Jesus Christ Faith Debate: Sunday, October 11th, 2026 (10/18/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) A man says he met a woman named Christina in 2023 while he was sitting on a front porch swing. She walked across the lawn carrying an iPad, like many salespeople do. The young lady sat in front of this man and his wife and began speaking about history, the Bible, and the church. Then she added that she knew the man was born with water on the brain, which is true. This seemed very supernatural, and so tears filled the couple's eyes as they contemplated what they were experiencing. This angelic-type presence didn't say how she knew the medical information; she simply looked up at the sky and smiled, telling the man three times, "You don't get it". Then she turned, and using her iPad brought a cool breeze from the north that moved through the treetops in a rotation specifically around the house and its street. Finally, she looked the man in the eyes and told him that she was sent by God with a message: "You've been kept alive to protect innocent people from evil". What should a Christian think about such a happening? Some quickly dismiss it as a lie. But if the story is real, and not a fabrication, what then? The panel continues to consider all of this in part 4 of a 4 of a unique series. Find The Faith Debate at wfmd.com, ChristianPodcastCommunity.org, & podcast platforms like SermonAudio & Odysee. The Enemy Among Us, Pt. 1
2026/10/11
This sermon examines the imperative for the church to actively resist false teaching by first establishing a robust foundation in sound doctrine. It argues that believers must be consistently reminded of biblical truth to recognize and reject heretical distortions, emphasizing that ignorance of right teaching leaves the congregation vulnerable to deception. The text distinguishes between genuine theological debate and futile word battles with apostates, warning that engaging in public disputes with those who reject Scripture elevates error and leads to the ruin of hearers. Instead of dignifying false teachers with debate, the church is called to silence their influence, correct them privately with truth, and protect the flock from the catastrophic effects of spiritual confusion and disobedience. The overall tone is urgent and pastoral, urging both leadership and members to maintain doctrinal purity and accountability before God.
Taking God's Name in Vain
2026/10/11
This sermon examines the Third Commandment, urging believers to cease misusing God's name and instead hallow it as a sacred reflection of His character. The message defines taking a name in vain as carrying it in a worthless or futile manner, contrasting this with the biblical mandate to consecrate God's name for its intended purposes. It explores how God's various names reveal His eternal being and attributes, such as being Almighty, Provider, and Source of Peace, culminating in the name Jesus, which signifies salvation. The preacher identifies common ways believers dishonor this name, including using it as a casual expletive, a debate tactic, or through a lifestyle that contradicts their profession of faith. Finally, the sermon calls for honoring God through pure speech that edifies others and a consistent walk that reflects Christ in all actions.
Receive Him While He May Be Found | John 7:25-36
2026/10/11
Sermon | John 7:25-36 | Sunday Morning Service, October 12 2026. Preacher: Rocky Stevenson This sermon examines the tension between the Jerusalem crowd's familiarity with Jesus and their failure to recognize His divine origin, urging listeners to avoid the spiritual blindness that comes from reducing Christ to manageable, earthly facts. The central message warns against the tragedy of spiritual ignorance, where knowing the sender's identity is impossible without receiving the Son who was sent. By highlighting Jesus' urgent declaration that His time with humanity is finite, the text emphasizes the finality of the current opportunity for salvation. The tone is convicting and pastoral, challenging both unbelievers to stop debating from a broken position and believers to surrender control, ensuring they are not left seeking a Christ they can no longer find. #Urgency #Familiarity #Ignorance #Faith #Repentance #BenoniBibleChurch Visit Benoni Bible Church: www.benonibiblechurch.co.za Address: 149 President Brand Rd, Rynfield, Benoni - view on Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oag383xq3U2b7RQN6 Copyright © 2026, Benoni Bible Church. Christian's Burden Removed At the Sight of the Cross
2026/10/09
Welcome to today's episode, where we trace one of the most profound and comforting truths in the Christian life: the vital distinction between saving faith and the full enjoyment of assurance. Drawing from John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, we explore Christian's journey from passing through the Wicket Gate to the climactic moment at the Cross where his heavy burden finally rolls away into the empty tomb. Guided by Westminster Larger Catechism Q. 81 and the classic pastoral insights of Thomas Ridgley, Thomas Brooks, Thomas Goodwin, John Owen, and Richard Sibbes, we confront modern misunderstandings—including the polemical debate between Dr. Joel Beeke and David Engelsma—to show why full assurance is not the immediate essence of faith, but a precious fruit grown over time. Join us as we consider Goodwill's tender counsel to be content to bear our burdens until the place of deliverance, offering deep encouragement to every "bruised reed" and "smoking flax" looking away from their own fragile feelings and fixing their eyes on the finished work of Jesus Christ.
The Enemy Is Already Inside
2026/10/07
This sermon examines the urgent shift in Jude's letter from a planned discussion on common salvation to a necessary warning against infiltrators who have breached the church's perimeter. The central message calls believers to earnestly contend for the faith, defined as the unchanging gospel core of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, rather than engaging in debates over secondary traditions or preferences. The tone is pastoral yet combative, urging the congregation to view themselves as soldiers in a spiritual war who must identify deception while maintaining a winsome and compassionate approach to those who are deceived. The speaker emphasizes that the faith was once delivered to the saints and must be preserved and passed down without alteration, requiring believers to know the genuine truth well enough to spot lies in the current cultural climate. Questions: 1. Why did Jude change his mind about what he originally intended to write to Christians? 2. What does Jude mean when he tells believers to "earnestly contend for the faith"? 3. How can Christians fight for the truth without becoming argumentative or unkind? 4. What does the Bible mean when it speaks of "the faith" rather than simply having faith? 5. How can we tell the difference between essential Christian doctrines and matters of personal preference? 6. Why does Jude warn Christians about enemies who have already entered the church? 7. What does it mean that the faith was "once delivered unto the saints"? Can Christianity change with the times? 8. Is defending the Christian faith the responsibility of pastors and theologians, or does every believer have a part
62 Paul's Greetings p1
2026/10/07
This sermon examines the final chapter of Romans, highlighting Paul's extensive list of personal greetings to believers in Rome. The teaching explores the historical and theological context of key figures such as Phoebe, Priscilla, and Aquila, while addressing debated issues like the office of deaconess and the identity of Junia. It emphasizes the importance of close Christian fellowship, the structure of early house churches, and the vital role of women in ministry. The preacher contrasts the unity of the first-century church with modern divisions, urging believers to maintain doctrinal purity while fostering genuine love and community. The message concludes with a warning against false teachers who use smooth speech to cause division, encouraging the congregation to remain vigilant and grounded in sound doctrine.
Remember The Sabbath (BCQ 62-62)
2026/10/06
Remembering the Sabbath day and keeping it holy is probably one of the most debated and neglected of all of the 10 commandments. Join us in our discussion of this commandment as we seek to open up the commandment and hear what it says and see what it requires. God, who made the week, has claimed one whole day in seven as his own; he has fixed that day, since the resurrection, on the first day of the week; and he calls us to keep it holy by a glad rest from our own works and a full use of his worship, excepting only the works of necessity and mercy.
All Scripture
2026/10/04
The sermon argues that the debate over Bible translations is fundamentally an issue of authority rather than linguistics, asserting that the Bible must remain the final authority in the believer's life. Drawing from 2 Timothy 3:13-17, the message emphasizes that all Scripture is inspired by God and is necessary for salvation and sanctification, making any alteration or omission a rejection of divine authority. The preacher presents three principles: God's Word is complete and pure, God has supernaturally preserved it for humanity, and the ultimate purpose of Scripture is to be obeyed. The text contends that the King James Bible represents the preserved, complete Word of God, and that believers must submit to its authority rather than relying on human judgment or changing versions. Finally, the sermon encourages believers to seek the Holy Spirit's enlightenment to understand and apply the Scriptures, rather than seeking easier translations to avoid the effort of spiritual growth.
26-10-04 Meet Bereans in Action
2026/10/04
Meet Bereans in Action Faith Debate: Sunday, October 4th, 2026 (10/11/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) Should "Artificial Intelligence" be called Algorithm Processing? Do we know GPT means Generative Pre-trained Transformer; or are we "old man yelling at cloud" with "smart phones" making us dumb? Is AI controlled by populism (majority rules), tyrants (authoritarian rule), conventional wisdom (lowest common denominator), or someone else? Does technocratic central command make feedback loops based on majority input instead of the best input? Was AI made only for a moral/religious people, wholly inadequate to the use of any other? How's the gospel stay central thru authentic Spirit-led study & known sources, not a souped-up Wikipedia? Are sermons/counseling affected by what the Ethernet presents as prevailing wisdom, with posers pretending to know what they don't? In the battle of Christ & culture, people are being trained by simulacra designed by post-moderns believing we can't know anything for sure. So, be suspicious. Trust, but verify. Don't trade God-given intelligence for low-information slop- or jobs will be lost, lives sacrificed, & truth surrendered. Thus ends a final plug for the recent series on this topic. Now, here's part 3 of a 4-part discussion on the topic of spiritual apparitions. Find The Faith Debate at wfmd.com, ChristianPodcastCommunity.org, & podcast platforms like SermonAudio & Odysee. Puffed Up
2026/10/04
Have you ever experienced when two Christians, each holding firmly to Bible verses, spoke past one another, and this did not benefit their relationship? This sermon examines the tension between theological knowledge and Christian love, using the Corinthian debate over food offered to idols as a case study. It argues that while doctrinal accuracy is important, wielding knowledge without compassion can destroy the conscience of weaker believers and fracture church unity. The message emphasizes that spiritual maturity carries a greater responsibility to nurture rather than condemn, mirroring the self-sacrificial love of Christ. Listeners are challenged to examine their motivations in theological disagreements, ensuring that their actions reflect the gospel rather than a false standard of self-glorification. The ultimate goal is a healthy congregation where truth is spoken with gentleness, fostering growth and stability for all members.
Mormon Debates, Avoiding Acts 4, Some Personal Encouragement
2026/10/01
Went over some developments on the Mormon front, the fact that Mormonism really is splintering fast into self-prophet groups with all sorts of different views and beliefs. We also looked at a statement posted by Leighton Flowers (written by someone else) that said that if Judas or Pilate had "repented" that God could have found "someone else." We thought through what that would mean and realized that's just Open Theism wearing a big nose and a fake mustache. Finally at the end I told everyone who didn't want something personal to tune out, and then I told the story of how I have been using Claude, the AI, to create programs that are allowing me to record my workouts and get a better idea of how hard I am lifting, etc. Just a little encouragement for my fellow aging athletes.
322. Is Your Job Christian? Rethinking Faith and Culture
2026/10/01
Can your job as a plumber, your Monday to Friday at the office, or your Saturday grocery run be an act of worship, or is "Christian living" really just a Sunday thing? In this opening episode of a three-part series, Dr. Marcus Mininger unpacks two impulses every believer feels but rarely reconciles: the belief that Christ changes everything, and the assurance that even if we lose everything, his victory stands unshaken. Drawing on Colossians and a lifetime of watching Reformed Christians debate culture (from social gospel enthusiasm to monastic withdrawal to today's two-kingdoms debates), Mininger makes the case that both impulses are biblical, and that getting the balance wrong has real consequences for how we live.

Debating Worldviews with Muslims and Atheists - Interview with James White
2026/09/30
Taking a position on truth is pretty unpopular today, but there are still some who have the courage to do it in the public forum. Dr. James White is one of the nation's most active Christian apologists and debaters, having debated atheists, Muslims, etc. over the last twenty years. Here, Kevin Swanson interacts with James on how to engage the battle in the dangerous war of ideas—with meekness and fear.
