“Do I Want to Be Right or Righteous?” | Judges 20
2026/10/18
There is a real difference between being correct and being righteous, and Judges 20 makes that distinction impossible to ignore. Israel mobilized 400,000 warriors in response to a horrific injustice, but their outrage was fueled by a half-truth told by a man more concerned with his own reputation than with justice. Over three battles, they learned a costly lesson: acting on what seems right is not the same as depending on God. The tribe of Benjamin made the same mistake from the other side, defending criminals out of loyalty and cultural instinct rather than seeking God at all. Forty thousand Israelite casualties and the near destruction of an entire tribe were the result of people doing what seemed right in their own eyes. The call for believers today is to pause before reacting, humble themselves, and seek God before acting, choosing righteousness over simply being right.

WHEN THE SHEPHERD WALKS BEFORE YOU, MERCY FOLLOWS!

WHEN THE SHEPHERD WALKS BEFORE YOU, MERCY FOLLOWS! Psalm 23:6 KJV The child of God can face yesterday without being imprisoned by it, tomorrow without being terrified of it, and eternity without being afraid of it—because the Lord is his Shepherd! As David closes the beloved Twenty-third Psalm, he gives believers three powerful reasons to face life with confidence: God's goodness has been working through our past, His mercy continues to pursue us through the present, and His promise of an eternal home secures our future. This encouraging, evangelistic message reminds us that the Good Shepherd never abandons His sheep and that eternal life is found only through Jesus Christ. You may not know how many miles remain in your journey, but if Jesus is your Shepherd, you can trust the One who knows the way home!
A Spiritual Meaning to Life
2026/10/18
Solomon's words here are not sarcasm. They are counsel for believers who live under the sun. Eat your bread with joy. Drink your wine with a merry heart. God has already accepted your works — not because we earn it, but because our lives are in His hands. Wear the garments of praise. Live joyfully with the spouse He has given. And whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, because the race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong. Time and providence happen to them all. This is not a call to self-centered pleasure. It is a call to thankful contentment and diligent labor — for the glory of the God who gives both the bread and the breath. Life under the sun is short. Do the work. Enjoy the gift. Fear God.

The burdens that weary us today are often the training ground He uses to prepare us for the greater battles of tomorrow. Part 3: Contending with Horses Greater resistance requires convictions rooted in Scripture and strength supplied by Christ. Have you recently decided to follow Jesus? Welcome the Weirdo (Rom. 15:7-13)
2026/10/18
God glorifying worship requires harmony with people who are very different. A divided army cannot be victorious! Sunday morning is the most segregated time of the week. This is a fractured battle line. Rom. 15:7-13 calls a spiritual warrior to fight for unity.

DON'T JUST START THE RACE— FINISH FAITHFUL!
2026/10/16
DON'T JUST START THE RACE— FINISH FAITHFUL! 2 Timothy 4:6–8 KJV The Apostle Paul approached the end of his earthly life with three powerful declarations: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."I want to examine three essential goals for every Christian: fighting the spiritual battle through Christ's strength, faithfully FINISHing the course God has assigned, and holding fast to the truth of God's Word.Drawing from Paul's final testimony, the message reminds believers that Christian faithfulness is not measured merely by how enthusiastically we begin, but by our continued obedience to Jesus Christ.I want to encourages weary believers, challenges those who have grown spiritually distracted, and points the lost to salvation through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.God has not called us merely to begin the Christian life. He has called us to fight faithfully, FINISH the course He has given us, and hold fast to the faith until we meet Jesus.
