If a Man Abide Not in Me
2026/10/18
Is this verse spoken to men who never believed, or to the eleven in the upper room, the branches the Lord Jesus Christ calls "in me" (John 15:2)? Read the first word of the verse, "If" (John 15:6), and ask whether a man can choose not to abide. Then ask what fire a man is cast into when "they are burned" (John 15:6), and where else the Lord Jesus Christ speaks of "the fire that never shall be quenched" (Mark 9:43). "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6)
Guarding the Guardians
2026/10/18
Who shall guard the guardians? By showing us how to treat elders who rule well, are accused, and are in sin, God demonstrates that he will guard the guardians: 1. By His Word. 2. By His Spirit. 3. By His judgments. A. Hide the Word in your heart, and seek to do it "by the book" B. Pray for your Elders/Session/Presbytery/Denomination C. Trust that if the Church doesn't get it right, Christ will work it out in the end.
That He May Judge His People
2026/10/14
When the mighty God calls the heavens and the earth, whom does He call them to witness against? Read verse 4 and ask whether He comes to judge the heathen or His own people. Then read 2 Thessalonians 1:8 and ask whether them "that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thessalonians 1:8) are men who never knew God. "He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people." (Psalm 50:4)
God's Provision in the Basement
2026/10/13
The speaker stands in the newly renovated boiler room in the basement of the ministry's building in Midtown Manhattan, marveling at God's provision. A couple of years earlier the leaking, rusting boiler needed replacement, but without the funds the ministry limped it through a winter season while trusting the Lord to provide. The Lord has now fully paid for a brand new boiler, its installation, and the city-required code upgrades, including ceiling repairs, a new fresh air duct, fresh primer, and new lighting, and both the room and boiler have passed inspection. The building, begun in 1873 and completed and dedicated in 1907, still stands in a strategic location where believers from around the country minister the gospel in the chapels and in the public arena. The speaker counts it a privilege and joy to maintain this space for Christians of different backgrounds and denominations laboring together for the gospel of God.
How Do We Abide In Him
2026/10/11
When the Lord Jesus Christ says "Abide in me" (John 15:4), who is He, and where does a man go to abide in Him? Read how the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision and spoke to him in the first person (Genesis 15:1), and then read what His name is called when He comes again (Revelation 19:13). Then ask whether a man can abide in Him and not abide in His word. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed" (John 8:31).
But God Will Redeem My Soul
2026/10/07
Does the grave keep any power over the soul of the man who dies in the Lord? Read verse 15 and ask whether God redeems the psalmist from the grave or from "the power of the grave" (Psalm 49:15). Then ask how He does it, and read Revelation 6:9 to see where the souls of the slain are found. "But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me." (Psalm 49:15)
The Church at Corinth
2026/10/04
This sermon examines the opening verses of 1 Corinthians, highlighting the source of apostolic authority in Jesus Christ rather than human credentials. It emphasises the theological reality of the local church, describing believers as sanctified and called to be saints through the atoning work of Christ, which reorients the Christian life from striving for holiness to living out a given new life. The message further asserts that true church unity is rooted exclusively in the lordship of the one true Jesus Christ, transcending cultural or denominational divisions. Finally, the sermon presents the greeting of grace and peace not as a conditional wish but as a completed transaction secured by Christ's fulfilment of the law, offering assurance of God's presence and favour to all believers.
26-10-04 Meet Bereans in Action
2026/10/04
Meet Bereans in Action Faith Debate: Sunday, October 4th, 2026 (10/11/26 on 930 WFMD in Frederick, Maryland) Should "Artificial Intelligence" be called Algorithm Processing? Do we know GPT means Generative Pre-trained Transformer; or are we "old man yelling at cloud" with "smart phones" making us dumb? Is AI controlled by populism (majority rules), tyrants (authoritarian rule), conventional wisdom (lowest common denominator), or someone else? Does technocratic central command make feedback loops based on majority input instead of the best input? Was AI made only for a moral/religious people, wholly inadequate to the use of any other? How's the gospel stay central thru authentic Spirit-led study & known sources, not a souped-up Wikipedia? Are sermons/counseling affected by what the Ethernet presents as prevailing wisdom, with posers pretending to know what they don't? In the battle of Christ & culture, people are being trained by simulacra designed by post-moderns believing we can't know anything for sure. So, be suspicious. Trust, but verify. Don't trade God-given intelligence for low-information slop- or jobs will be lost, lives sacrificed, & truth surrendered. Thus ends a final plug for the recent series on this topic. Now, here's part 3 of a 4-part discussion on the topic of spiritual apparitions. Find The Faith Debate at wfmd.com, ChristianPodcastCommunity.org, & podcast platforms like SermonAudio & Odysee. He Taketh Away
2026/10/04
Who takes away the branch that bears no fruit, and was that branch ever in Him? Read "every branch in me" (John 15:2) beside "He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him" (John 6:56), and ask whether "in me" ever describes a man who never believed. Then ask what a man must do to have God take away his part out of the book of life: write a new Bible, or only decide that one verse does not apply to him. "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Revelation 22:19)

There Is Salvation In Only One
2026/10/04
The sermon emphasizes that salvation is found exclusively in the name of Jesus Christ, rejecting the notion that it can be obtained through religious works, moral behavior, or denominational affiliation. Drawing from Acts 4, the message highlights three key declarations: God is the ultimate witness to Jesus' identity and work, Jesus holds the position of the chief cornerstone, and His purpose is to provide the only path to eternal life. The text contrasts the stumbling block of Christ to religious leaders with the clear testimony of God in 1 John 5, asserting that belief in the Son is the sole requirement for regeneration. The tone is convicting and instructional, urging listeners to examine their own faith and place their trust solely in the finished work of Christ rather than in human effort or tradition.
Wherefore Should I Fear in the Days of Evil
2026/09/30
Why does the psalmist cry "Hear this, all ye people" (Psalm 49:1) and then "give ear" (Psalm 49:1) in the same breath, and who is the ye? Read verse 5 and ask whether it begins with wherefore or with therefore, and whether a man can say he will not fear the days of evil. Then ask what the rich man who trusts in his wealth can pay for his brother's soul. "None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him." (Psalm 49:7)
Just Think How Many Denominations There Are !

The Denomination Debate (Part 2)
2026/09/27
This lesson examines the Corinthian church's divisions as a cautionary example for modern Christians who often identify with denominations or human leaders rather than solely with Christ. The lesson argues that while the human need for identity is natural, believers must reject man-made traditions and instead anchor their faith in the Word of God as their sole authority. By highlighting the crucifixion and baptism in the name of Jesus, the lesson emphasizes that true unity is found only in a shared commitment to biblical doctrine, not in sectarian labels. The lesson concludes by commending the house of Chloe for their spiritual discernment, urging local churches to prioritize doctrinal purity and Christ-centered unity over religious or organizational affiliations.
Men Gather Them, and Cast Them into the Fire
2026/09/27
When the Lord Jesus Christ says "in me" (John 15:2-7) six times in seven verses, does He mean a believer, or a man who only looked like one? Read verse 6 and ask who gathers the withered branch, and where they take him. Then ask whether "the fire" (John 15:6) is some lesser burning, or the same fire the Lord Jesus Christ names in every gospel. "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (John 15:6)
