A two day drive to the Mississippi Delta had a very nice stop along the way with friends. My wife and I got to experience a new town in Tennessee and then we attended the 51st Annual Royal-Schram Family Reunion in Morton, Mississippi. There are always interesting things that happen along the way.   https://www.ckgfoundation.org/speakup5k   All of that and more Fall Line Trail etiquette tips in this show! I had the opportunity to attend two World Cup matches but then the Semiquincentennial somehow got canceled. That and more in the show, thanks for downloading! Music by GarageBand and US Marine Corps Band.

I went through the Atlanta airport at the height of the delays and lived to tell about it! There is a store in the Richmond area called Ollie's that requires some explanation. I signed up for another half marathon so I have to keep doing long runs. All that and more in this episode of the Running in the Center of the Universe podcast! Thanks for downloading the show. This episode has (mostly) all the details about the 47th Annual Ashland Railroad Runs! The annual event was a success and raises money for the programs at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center in Ashland, Virginia. The name of the race has evolved and so have the variety of participants. A few glitches happened but it seemed most everyone had a good time.  Also, have you ever met anyone famous? I've met a few folks although none will remember me. That and more in the show. Recovery from the recent River City Half Marathon has been a little longer than I thought. This podcast has some thoughts on race recovery and why it's taking so long. Also, the LA Marathon in California had a heck of a finish! I will describe what I saw happen. Some of the links are posted below. And lastly, I talk about the gas prices around my house which are not consistent at all. Thanks for downloading the show! Week 12 on into race day is over! I ran the River City Half Marathon in Richmond Va on 3-7-2026 and had a great time. It was the first Sportsbackers race I did with my daughter who has now completed 2 half marathons. I think I've done 20 or 30, I'm not sure. Although I've slowed down over the years, I still challenge myself with time goals. This episode has my thoughts on the race and of course other topics! This episode from 2012 has my comments as the Race Director of the 34th Annual Ashland Railroad Run. Just for reference, the upcoming race is the 47th annual event! (I think I have the math right.)   Race info link: https://runsignup.com/Race/Events/VA/Ashland/AshlandRailroadRun Music by GarageBand and U.S.Marine Corps Band.
