One way we stand firm in the spiritual battle to follow Jesus well is we identify the lies that have power within us and we bring God’s truth to those lies. This is a spiritual, deeply thoughtful and life-long process with which we need God’s help. What are the lies that you need to bring God’s truth to?

The temptation of Jesus in the wilderness teaches us how to fight wrong desires, spot tricks from the enemy, and use the Bible for strength. Jesus faced hunger, doubt, and the offer of easy power, but He stayed true to God.

We are creatures of comparison. It’s our nature to compare ourselves to others. Comparison can pull our eyes off Jesus and rob us of life to the full. But comparison itself is not the problem. The problem is what direction comparison takes us. When we compare our haves and have-nots with others’, it’s easy to become discontent. Comparing our gifts and strengths with others can cause us to feel insecure or superior. So how do we learn to compare ourselves in more helpful ways that equip us to stand firm in the life of Jesus?

Colossians 4 reminds us that a life lived to the full begins with staying connected to Jesus through prayer, thankfulness, and trust. It challenges us to see the people and opportunities God places around us and to live with purpose in our everyday lives. Our words and actions should be marked by grace, reflecting the love and character of Jesus wherever we go. When Jesus fills our lives, His life begins to overflow through us so that others can experience His love, hope, and grace.

God has the full, abundant life for you and gives you all you need to receive it.
