No Bait. No Switch

Speaking this week is our Young Adult Pastor. Most ads promise more than the product can deliver, and plenty of the ads we have run for God haven't been much different. On the night He was betrayed, Jesus sat down to dinner with a tax collector, a zealot, two brothers who once wanted to call fire down on a village, a friend who would deny him before sunrise, plus the man who had already sold Him, and then He got up and washed their feet. This Communion Sabbath, we look at the table He was setting and good news that's better than anything that we could imagine.
Grace at the Table
2026/09/19
Speaking this week is our Lead Pastor. In the Bible, God the Father runs. He's full of joy when His children come home, but the grace He offers is not limited to forgiveness. His grace gives us salvation for our past sins, holiness in our present journey, and hope for our future. Grace literally allows us to live abundantly.
The Table of Abundance
2026/09/12
Speaking this week is our Lead Pastor. In the parable of the lost son, Jesus invites all His children to the table of abundance. Jesus wants us to know that abundance isn't about wealth. It is found in His kingdom of unlimited love and grace. His invitation is experienced in community with others. That fellowship brings us into the abundance of God's kingdom as Jesus transforms how we experience His abundance communally.
Pass it!
2026/09/05
Speaking this week is the assistant professor of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Andrews University. His message reminds us that faith isn't inherited by accident, it's handed down on purpose. God had a plan to carry His people's faith beyond the desert, and He's counting on us to carry it to the next generation. Don't just hold it. Pass it on.
A Seat at the Table...For Me
2026/08/29
Jesus invites everyone to come to His banquet, but not everyone responds. It is hard for us humans to come to the table sometimes because it is a table of grace. We don't prepare it...it is a free gift. In Luke 14 we learn three truths about God's table of grace: it is a table of humility, it is a table of blessing, and it is a table for all who are hungry.
A Seat at the Table
2026/08/22
We'll explore the stories of three strong spiritual leaders who loved their people but had a mindset of exclusion. To preserve their people, they cosed their doors to others. Jesus is the opposite. He opens His table to ALL. His mindset is that the table belongs to God; that God desires to expand His table, not restrict it, and that God's table has room for all.
Faithful Anyway
2026/08/15
Speaking this week is our Family & Women's Ministries Pastor. This Sabbath, we'll explore what happens to our faith when God's work doesn't unfold according to our expectations. Through the story of John the Baptist and Jesus' response to his questions, we'll discover that moments of uncertainty and disappointment don't have to weaken our faith -- they can deepen and strengthen it. We'll be challenged to remain faithful even when we understand, and especially when we don't. We'll consider three truths: 1) Our faith is challenged when our expectations are interrupted; 2) Our faith is shaped when our expectations are interrupted; 3) Our faith is sharpened when our expectations are interrupted.
Things I Don't Know for Sure
2026/08/08
Sometimes I can get arrogant because of what I know, or insecure about what I don't know. Sometimes my spiritual journey and my interactions with others is injured as it can so easily turn into a debate about who knows enough to prove the other person wrong. I continue to grow in my understanding of what I know for sure, and what I don't. Let's continue the journey of discovering what to stand firm with and what to open up for further understanding.
I Will Go to Spain
2026/08/01
Paul is a true missionary. He wants to share Jesus where no one else has gone, but he knows he can't do it alone. He needs the body of Christ. In Romans 15, Paul invites us to consider three important truths about unity in Jesus through life in the Spirit: God unites us in hope. God unites us in mission. God unites us in prayer.
The God Who Moves Toward Us: Crossing the Distance Through Embrace
2026/07/25
Speaking this week is our Children's Pastor. What separates us from one another? And what does it take to cross the distance? Sometimes distance is measured in physical space, but sometimes it is created by shame, fear, hurt, difference, power, or the stories we tell about one another. Sometimes we are the ones who create the distance. Sometimes we inherit it. And sometimes we find ourselves standing on the other side of a distance we don't understand. Through the story of Zacchaeus, we will explore the distances that separate us, the God who moves toward us, and what might happen when an encounter with divine embrace changes the way we see -- and move toward one another.
Think Twice Before You Say, 'Send Me'!
2026/07/18
Speaking this week our Worship pastor. For this we reference Isaiah 6:1-8. Verse eight in this iconic passage about Isaiah's commission has been widely celebrated and given high praise for being willing to be sent by God for mission. The question we must ask our ourselves is whether this is the focal point and theological center of the chapter, or is there something greater that God wants to unveil to us, that if we miss it, all together disqualifies us for mission? To find out, come at 11am this Sabbath and see what God will speak to us.
The Kingdom of Heaven
2026/07/11
Speaking this week our Lead Pastor. Jesus tells parables as they are familiar stories that invite His listeners to reflect on new insight. In Matthew 13, Jesus tells parables about the Kingdom of Heaven, which also reveal His understanding of heaven. He reveals three truths: the kingdom of heaven is forged in humility, flourishes in humanity, and lasts forever but starts now.
God is Good
2026/07/04
Speaking this week is our Lead Pastor. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country, we are reminded of our common story. Jesus invites us into His story also. He is still at work for good in us but wants us to know we can live with hope for the future. We will have an opportunity at the end of the age to see the goodness of God in our lives and those we love.
Why is it so hard to follow Jesus?
2026/06/27
Communion Sabbath is a weird one. We admit we're all a little screwed up, and then we're surprised when someone else's dirt gets on us. This week we're going to sit with that paradox and ask what it actually looks like to follow Jesus into the mess.
The Green Grassy Spot
2026/06/20
Speaking this week is Union Adventist University's Chaplain. The disciples were worn out from their time of ministry and come back to Jesus hoping for a break, but more people come in need. What if our rest and peace is not found in a retreat, vacation, place, or season of life when things are perfect...but instead in a person, and His name is Jesus?
