Has Congress traded our kids for Big Tech?
2026/10/27
As voters head to the polls, it’s worth considering whether Congress has put the interests of powerful tech companies ahead of America’s children and whether candidates on the ballot will protect children online (or not). In a new op-ed at The Hill, Richie Hamm, President of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, argues that Congress has done just that, given that it’s been five years since Meta whistleblower Frances Haugen warned Congress that Meta put profit over child safety online. (Haugen’s story is portrayed in a new film, The Social Reckoning, out in theaters now.) Richie Hamm has been involved in leadership, teaching and coaching for over 20 years ranging from full-time ministry to technology development and sales. He is passionate about education and leadership and strives to help others develop their gifts to reach new heights. He is the President of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation. Blood of the Baptist
2026/10/27
BLOOD OF THE BAPTIST brings the story of John the Baptist to life in a brand new way through a two-part graphic novel, original soundtracks and music videos. Creating it has been an impressive team of artists including Reina Özbay (The Chosen), composer Matthew S. Nelson (The Chosen), two-time Grammy nominee and 14-time Dove Award winner Cindy Morgan, Grammy and Dove Award-winning producer Quinten Coblentz and Latin Grammy winner Katia del Cid. Catholic Answers apologist Jimmy Akin also served as a consultant. Rooted in Scripture, BLOOD OF THE BAPTIST uses historical fiction to explore the courage, sacrifice, truth and redemption at the heart of John’s story. Lau can discuss why one of Christianity’s most compelling figures deserves to be brought to life on this scale — and why Christian storytelling can be bold, imaginative and relevant to a modern audience. The Kickstarter campaign launched Oct. 6, with production beginning in early 2027. Brian Lau is a Detroit-based graphic artist, comic book creator and award-winning author whose work brings faith, history and compelling storytelling to life. He is the creator of Blood of the Baptist, a new graphic novel inspired by the story of St. John the Baptist. Get full access to Epiphany at epiphanyradio.substack.com/subscribe

2026/10/26
Lisa Brown & Lindsay Brieschke are Charitable Giving Advisor’s at The Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Lansing. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss a few practical steps your listeners can take: Including a planned gift to a parish, Catholic school, or ministry in their estate plans. Designating a funeral representative and communicating their wishes for a Catholic funeral. Recording their wishes for Masses to be offered after their death, including the number of Masses they would like and arrangements to have them offered. Learning about the Immaculate Conception Legacy Society, which recognizes and provides ongoing spiritual care and fellowship for those who include a Catholic organization in the Diocese of Lansing in their estate plans. Our hope is to make these conversations approachable and encourage listeners to take one meaningful step toward preparing their plans. A legacy gift can be a beautiful expression of faith and gratitude, regardless of its size. Get full access to Epiphany at epiphanyradio.substack.com/subscribe
