Description

Join Lee, Darren, Jim and Elton as they waffle, wonder and jabber on about film, geek news, video games and any other tangential rubbish that spring to mind, before reviewing a movie from yesteryear. Removing the Rose Tinted Specs to see if a film really deserves its classic status or the Sh*t Covered Goggles to see if a bad film is actually as awful as its reputation.

This week, Jim starts to wind down for a bit, Elton hoovers a roof, Darren travels to Racoon City, Lee accidentally gawps at Biggles again and noodles over Lanterns Then its on to this weeks third entry in to the unofficial tonal whiplash month. A thoroughly upbeat movie following Possession, the relentlessly cheerful (despite the apocalyptic situation) movie Project Hail Mary. Possession
2026/09/16
Welcome to this weeks episode (hopefully on time) This week Jim returns for a health update and some garlic harvesting which morphs in to booze talk. Elton gets to play a video game and apparently has a Dolphins lungs, while Darren has some heart stopping car bills, hotdogs in mash in a bun and a conversation with a piece of Ikea furnature in Skyrim. Lee, laments the last fortnight of podcast technical issues, reviews a book about doing a job at the end of the world and reviews a unique take on the zombie / infected humans horror genre from the creative team behind Train to Busan.  Then after some Force Awakens feedback, we move on to this weeks film. A film that is either an artistic alegorical, symbolic, apocalyptic anxiety dream brought about by a couples traumatically messy divorce or an excuse to sit the episode out eating muffins... Either way we review the notorious 1980 movie Possession. Media Discussed This Week Titanic II - Any old VoD site looking for cheap content Far Cry: New Dawn - PC / Xbox / Playstation The Last Postman by Ben H Winters - Any book store Skyrim - Ikea DLC - Steam / Ikea  Colony - Limited theatrical release / Apple TV  The Gentlemen Season 2 - Netflix Wander Berg - Steam / Itch IO Possession - Amazon Prime / BFI Player
Star Wars The Force Awakens
2026/09/09
Welcome to this weeks episode. Sadly Jim is off ill this week so unfortunately theres no adults in charge.  This week Elton celebrates Predator Badlands and puts forward a theory that the predator franchise might be more consistently better than the Alien one. Meanwhile Darren has a birthday and is denied his milkshake, but manages to get a beer in london for under a fiver which counts as a miracle worthy of note. Lee on the other hand goes full cocktail hour for his wedding anniversary, which is handy as he can drink away some of the sights he beheld at the very public Tattoo festival at the London Excel centre. He also managed to catch up with the Internet movie darling of the hour Coyote vs Acme. Then after some brief feedback its on to this weeks movie... Or as we should have called it group therapy as we ignite our lightsabers to review Star Wars The Force Awakens Media Discussed This Week Predator Badlands - Disney + Absolute Batman - DC comics Coyote vs Acme - Theatrical Release The Gentlemen Season 2 - Netflix Star Wars The Force Awakens - Disney +

Welcome to this weeks episode, where we discover Jims love of James May's Gin, Elton gets vexed by pen ink usage, Darren runs a sociopath test on all of the hosts , Lee is sick and Ants love of certain bodily fluids becomes vitally influential on the run time. Then after seeing a man of the cloth using marmite as a roll on deodorant and some feedback for Blue Beetle is read out, we move on to this weeks film. Blue Beetle
2026/07/29
This week there is no Jim. However, what we do have is discussions about how to live with just one tea spoon, SDCC trailers, Supergirl, The Odyssey, Disclosure Day, Masters of the universe and the discovery that Lynx body spray came in Marmite flavour. Then after some feedback for Colossus The Forbin Project its on to this weeks film Is it a brave new step forward for representation in Superhero movies? Or is it a tired, by the numbers, focus grouped to within an inch of its life, flow diagram of a movie with some pretty colours that aims for representation and actually falls in to parody stereotypes? We'll find out soon enough as we review The Blue Beetle Media Discussed This Week Ozark - Netflix San Diego Comicon Trailers - Doomsday, Blade Runner 2099, Lanterns, Reacher The Furious - Amazon VoD Supergirl - Amazon VoD The Odyssey - Theatrical Release Disclosure Day - Waste paper bin in the X files writers room Masters of the Universe - Amazon Prime Blue Beetle - Netflix

The People vs Larry Flynt
2026/07/01
This week Jim grows garlic and ponders a berret while also being shaken by a new book. Elton has techno concerns, thanks to a loss of subscriptions and draws a line in the sand when it comes to further video game purchases. Darren, goes up, up and away with the Woman of Tomorrow and Lee, is rocked by Obsession, and very grumpy about the supposed Wonders of the Universe which come courtesy of a Phoenix Nights style stage set up... Then after some brief feedback for Stockholm Bloodbath its on to this weeks film. Woody Harrelson and Courtney Love stand with Edward Norton to fight the system, champion free speech and make some ahem fruity publications in The People vs Larry Flynt Media Discussed This Episode First Dates by Gemma Amor Mapmen - YouTube Supergirl - Theatrical Release They Will Kill You - Amazon VoD Obsession - Theatrical Release and Amazon VoD The People vs Larry Flynt - Netflix Next weeks film - Colossus The Forbin Project can be found on the Internet Archive at (remove spaces from the link) archive . org / details / colossus-the-forbin-project-1970_202509

This week Jim finds a horror film that actually confounds HIM! Elton goes on a TV watch down memory lane and ends up at Ted Lassos door.
