Lampstand Letters: “Jesus Is the Source” (Revelation 3:14-22) - Week 7
2026/10/05
In Revelation 3:14-22, Jesus confronts the church in Laodicea with a powerful reminder: Jesus is the source. He is not simply an addition to our lives or a part of our faith—He is the source of everything we truly need. Jesus brings the source to us, offering what is of true and lasting value. But when we distance ourselves from Him, our faith can become empty, lukewarm, and even disgusting religion. The invitation of Jesus is not merely to try harder, but to return to the source. Lampstand Letters: “Hold On to Jesus” (Revelation 3:7–13) - Week 6
2026/09/28
In Revelation 3:7–13, Jesus speaks to the church in Philadelphia and calls them to hold on to Him. When our hope is in Jesus, He is not just part of the story—He is the beginning, middle, and end of our hope. This message explores five things Jesus provides: His provision, His protection, His passion, His power, and ultimately, His person. Whatever we face, we can hold on to Jesus because He is faithful and He is enough. Lampstand Letters: “Fully Alive” (Revelation 3:1–6) - Week 5
2026/09/21
In Week 5 of Lampstand Letters, we explore Jesus' message to the church in Sardis in Revelation 3:1–6. Though the church had a reputation for being alive, Jesus saw a deeper reality: they were spiritually dead. This sobering message reminds us that Jesus is concerned not just with how we appear to others, but with who we really are. Yet Jesus doesn't leave His people without hope. Jesus has what we need to be fully alive. Through His call to wake up, remember, and return to what they had received and heard, we discover that moving forward in faith often begins by going back to the truth of the gospel. Jesus invites us to examine our hearts, recover what has been neglected, and live in the fullness of life He provides. Lampstand Letters: The Standard & The Prize (Revelation 2:18-29) - Week 4
2026/09/21
In Revelation 2:18–29, Jesus speaks to the church in Thyatira and reminds His people that He alone defines what faithfulness looks like. Jesus is the standard, and He does not change the standard. In a world that constantly pressures us to redefine truth and compromise our convictions, Jesus calls His church to remain faithful to Him. But Jesus is not only the standard—He is also the prize. Faithfulness to Jesus is not ultimately about earning something from Him; it is about belonging to Him and discovering that He Himself is better than anything the world can offer. Jesus calls His people to persevere, remain faithful, and hold fast to Him until the end. Lampstand Letters: Wholehearted (Revelation 2:12-17) - Week 3
2026/09/09
In Revelation 2:12–17, Jesus speaks to the church in Pergamum—a church that had remained faithful in a difficult and hostile environment, yet had begun to drift into dangerous compromise. Jesus sees their endurance, but He also lovingly confronts the ways they have allowed the world around them to shape their allegiance. Following Jesus means more than standing firm when faith is tested; it means wholehearted allegiance to Jesus in every area of our lives. The danger of compromise is that drift rarely feels like rebellion, but Jesus calls His people away from what competes for our hearts and toward something better: Himself. Faithfulness may go unnoticed on earth, but it is never unnoticed in heaven. Jesus sees His people, confronts our compromise, and invites us to live as though His love is better than anything the world offers. Lampstand Letters: Suffering Well (Revelation 2:8–11) - Week 2
2026/09/02
In Week 2 of our Lampstand Letters series, we turn to Jesus’ letter to the suffering church in Smyrna. Revelation 2:8–11 gives us an honest picture of the cost of following Jesus, while offering a hope that is stronger than our suffering: Jesus has enough life for our death. Jesus sees the suffering of His people. He knows their tribulation, their poverty, and the persecution they are experiencing. Yet He calls them to remain faithful, even when following Him becomes costly and even when life seems to get worse. The good news is that suffering does not mean Jesus has lost control. In Christ, our suffering has a boundary, death does not have the final word, and there is a crown of life waiting for those who faithfully endure. Because Jesus Himself died and came to life, He is uniquely able to meet us in our suffering and lead us into resurrection life. Lampstand Letters: First Love (Revelation 2:1–7) - Week 1
2026/08/23
In Week 1 of our Lampstand Letters series, we hear Jesus’ message to the church in Ephesus in Revelation 2:1–7. Jesus sees their work, recognizes their perseverance, and commends their commitment to truth. Yet He also identifies something deeply important that they have lost: their first love. This passage reminds us that faithful activity and sound doctrine are not substitutes for affection for Jesus. Jesus is jealous for our affections. He desires not simply our service, our commitment, or our knowledge, but our hearts. As we begin the Lampstand Letters series, we are challenged to examine whether our lives are marked by both faithfulness to truth and a growing love for Christ. Jesus calls His church to remember, repent, and return to the love that shaped us in the beginning. These Things You've Heard Me Say: “A Gospel Legacy” (2 Timothy 4) - Week 6
2026/08/16
In Week 6 of our These Things You've Heard Me Say series, we come to Paul's final charge to Timothy in 2 Timothy 4. Paul looks back on a life faithfully lived for Jesus and looks forward to the completion of his race, reminding us that gospel legacy is the result of a life submitted to Jesus and His mission. A gospel legacy isn't built through recognition, success, or simply being remembered. It is formed through a lifetime of faithfulness—preaching the gospel, enduring hardship, following Jesus, and investing in others. What we do with our lives today can help shape the faith of those who come after us. As we consider Paul's example, we are challenged to ask what kind of legacy we are leaving and whether our lives are being faithfully submitted to the mission of Jesus. These Things You've Heard Me Say: “Life in the Word” (2 Timothy 3:10–17) - Week 5
2026/08/09
In Week 5 of our These Things You've Heard Me Say series, Paul reminds Timothy that disciples of Jesus find life in God's Word. Scripture is not merely information to study or a collection of teachings to admire—it is God's Word given to shape, correct, equip, and transform His people. As disciples, we are invited to build our lives on the truth of Scripture, trusting God's Word to form us into people who are equipped for every good work. In a world filled with competing voices and ideas, we find life and direction by returning again and again to what God has spoken. These Things You've Heard Me Say: “Guard Your Heart” (2 Timothy 3:1–9) - Week 4
2026/08/02
In Week 4 of our These Things You've Heard Me Say series, we look at Paul’s warning to Timothy about the dangers of the last days and the kinds of influences that can shape our lives. A maturing child of God learns to recognize the people, priorities, and patterns that can pull our hearts away from Jesus. Following Christ means more than avoiding bad influences—it means cultivating a heart that is increasingly shaped by Jesus. As we grow in maturity, we are called to guard both the influences we follow and the heart we cultivate, allowing the gospel to shape who we are and how we live. These Things You've Heard Me Say: “The Purpose of Discipleship” (2 Timothy 2:14–26) - Week 3
2026/07/26
In Week 3 of These Things You've Heard Me Say, we explore 2 Timothy 2:14–26 and discover that discipleship is about far more than gaining biblical knowledge—it is about transformation. Paul reminds Timothy that the gospel is the source of life, that gospel formation becomes visible in how we live, and that the gospel frees us to pursue spiritual maturity. What is forming you? The voices, ideas, habits, and influences we allow into our lives are shaping us, and what forms us will eventually become visible. But the good news is that Jesus doesn't simply call us away from sin—He frees us to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace alongside other believers. The purpose of discipleship is transformation: becoming people who are increasingly shaped by the gospel and equipped to help others mature and multiply as followers of Jesus. These Things You've Heard Me Say: “Pass It On” (2 Timothy 2) - Week 2
2026/07/20
In Week 2 of our These Things You've Heard Me Say. series, we discover that the gospel was never meant to stop with us. In 2 Timothy 2, Paul reminds Timothy that what has been faithfully received must also be faithfully entrusted to others who will continue the work of making disciples. Disciple-making begins and ends with God's grace. His grace fuels our faithfulness, sustains us through the challenges of perseverance, and empowers us to invest in others for the sake of Christ. Though the work is often costly, the reward is seeing God transform lives, and the lasting result is a gospel legacy that reaches future generations. Join us as we explore what it means to faithfully guard the gospel—not by keeping it to ourselves, but by giving it away so others can do the same. These Things You've Heard Me Say: “A Gospel Legacy” (2 Timothy 1) - Week 1
2026/07/13
In the opening message of These Things You've Heard Me Say, we begin Paul's final letter to Timothy with a powerful reminder that the Christian life is meant to be passed on. In 2 Timothy 1, we discover that discipleship is spiritual parenthood—a lifelong calling to mature and multiply believers who will carry the gospel to the next generation. A gospel legacy begins with a sincere faith that is completely dependent on Jesus and fully confident in His promises. As we fan into flame the gift God has given us through His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, we become faithful disciples who help others follow Christ. Our mission is not simply to believe the gospel, but to leave a gospel legacy. welcomed.: “Receive It” (Acts 17:1–15) - Week 12
2026/07/05
In Week 12 of our Welcomed. series, we explore two very different responses to the same gospel message. In Acts 17:1–15, Paul faithfully proclaims Jesus in both Thessalonica and Berea, yet one city responds with jealousy, opposition, and hostility while the other receives the Word with eagerness and examines the Scriptures daily. What makes the difference? This passage challenges us to consider whether we approach God's Word as a threat to our assumptions, preferences, and priorities—or as a gift from a good and loving God. The Bereans remind us that the welcome of Jesus creates hearts that eagerly receive the truth, submit to God's authority, and delight in hearing His voice. Join us as we discover the joy, freedom, and transformation that come from receiving God's Word on His terms and allowing the gospel to shape every part of our lives. welcomed.: “Welcomed Together” (Acts 16:16–40) - Week 11
2026/06/30
In Week 11 of our Welcomed. series, we explore the powerful truth that the gospel doesn't merely change what we believe—it transforms how we see and love people. In Acts 16:16–40, we encounter a remarkable collection of unlikely people brought together by the grace of God: a wealthy businesswoman, a formerly demon-oppressed slave girl, and a Roman jailer. Though their backgrounds, experiences, and social standing could not have been more different, each is welcomed into the family of God through the same gospel. As Paul and Silas endure opposition, injustice, and imprisonment, we see the contrast between a culture of welcome rooted in self-interest and the welcome of Jesus that begins with God. The gospel expands our vision of who God loves, reshapes our identity, and empowers us to love others with courage, humility, and grace—even in the midst of suffering. Join us as we discover how the welcome of Jesus transforms both our hearts and our relationships, creating a new kind of community centered on God's grace rather than our preferences.
