What an incredible Baptism Sunday we celebrated! Watching 12 people publicly declare their freedom in Christ was a powerful reminder of God's transforming grace. In Ephesians 2:1-10, Paul reveals three enemies we all face: the world, the flesh, and the devil. But here's the beautiful truth—through Christ, we are SET FREE from the enemy's grip, SET APART to live differently than the world, and RESET with new desires by the Holy Spirit. We're not saved BY good works, but FOR good works that God prepared beforehand for us to walk in. If you're wrestling with faith or searching for something more, know that God's grace is available to you. He offers not just forgiveness, but complete transformation—a new life with new purpose. By grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.

Mary Magdalene experienced exactly that. In the garden where Jesus was buried, she encountered the resurrected Christ. At first, she didn't recognize Him—but the moment He spoke her name, everything changed. John's Gospel intentionally shows us there's a "new man in the garden." Where the first Adam brought sin and death, Jesus brings new life and freedom. This Eastertide season (the 50 days between Easter and Pentecost) reminds us that Jesus appeared to over 500 witnesses after His resurrection. These weren't myths—they were real people who could testify: "I saw Him alive!" That changes everything about how we face our pain, brokenness, and struggles today. The new man is in the garden. All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him. What fog in your life needs to clear so you can see Jesus more clearly?

This Easter season, we're diving into 1 Corinthians 15, where Paul declares something revolutionary: "Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your sting?" Through Christ's resurrection, death went from being an executioner to just a gardener—planting us in God's soil so we can become something extraordinary. Your body may be weak, broken, or struggling with sin's infection now. But Paul says to see it differently—as a seed. What's planted perishable will be raised imperishable. What's sown in weakness will be raised in power. The final boss has been defeated, and the grave has lost its grip. Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your strength? Thanks be to God who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

We often stride into life with excitement and anticipation, thinking we know how things will go—only to face unexpected disappointment. But here's the truth: God's way is always better than ours, even when we can't see it yet. This Palm Sunday, we remember that the crowds shouting "Hosanna! Lord, save us!" didn't understand what kind of saving Jesus came to do. They wanted deliverance from Rome, but He came to offer something far greater—salvation from sin and death itself. The cross looked like defeat, but it was actually triumph. When you're hard-pressed and everything feels like it's falling apart, remember Psalm 118:5-6: "When hard-pressed, I cried to the Lord. He brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me. I will not be afraid." Sometimes God brings us through the difficult chrysalis moment where everything liquefies—so we can emerge transformed into something beautiful. Will you wave your palm branches and say yes to whatever uncomfortable adventure He has for you? The eternal weight of glory far surpasses whatever we leave at the cross.

This sermon centers on Psalm 27’s declaration, “The Lord is the stronghold of my life,” and calls believers to establish a godly stronghold by building their lives on God’s Word, depending on the Holy Spirit, and remaining anchored in the Father’s unshakable love. Drawing from David’s life, Pastor Jared emphasizes that storms, fear, and spiritual attacks reveal where we run for safety, and that true strength is found not in self-reliance, but in seeking God in the middle of crisis. He also warned that the enemy seeks to build destructive strongholds in our lives, but that Jesus comes to break those chains, destroy the works of the devil, and establish His rule in the inner life of those who surrender to Him.

Jesus understands every bit of your pain. He was a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. The Father planted His most precious seed—Jesus—so He could harvest you as His beloved child. You were the joy set before Christ as He endured the cross. The hardest seasons you walk through will make heaven's joy even sweeter. Your scars will become proof that God rescued you, carried you, and was always with you.

God doesn't want your spiritual resume. He wants your surrender. He's not asking you to get everything together before you come to Him—He's asking you to bring Him your weakness, your struggles, your honest mess. Because when we finally stop trying to be strong enough and admit we need Him, that's when His power can truly work through us. Stop waiting until you have it all figured out. Come to Jesus weak, and watch Him make you strong.

The difference isn't about avoiding hard news. It's about where your security lies. When you fear the Lord through reverent obedience, walk in generosity rather than greed, and let your heart be truly secure in Him, bad news loses its power over you. Freedom starts with receiving truth we don't want to hear, but on the other side is healing, restoration, and joy. You don't have to live in constant dread. God wants to set you free.

Ever feel like you're drowning—underwater, overwhelmed, and out of options? Psalm 130 reminds us that crying out from the depths isn't weakness—it's exactly where breakthrough begins. When we finally stop trying to fix everything ourselves and call out to God, that's when real transformation starts. The Psalmist knew what we often forget: God doesn't keep a record of our failures. He runs toward us at our worst, not away from us. And in those dark seasons of waiting—when you're like a watchman desperately longing for morning—God is preparing something in you that productivity could never produce. If you're in a tough season and don't know how to pray, Psalm 130 can pray for you. Let these ancient words shape your heart this week: "Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord...in your word I put my hope." Because with the Lord is unfailing love, and with Him is full redemption.

What if the spiritual life we're living is perfectly designed to produce the results we're getting? This powerful message confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: we are all being formed into something, whether we realize it or not. Just as our physical systems adapt to our environment, our spiritual lives are shaped by a constellation of choices—the media we consume, the relationships we nurture, the practices we maintain. The central question isn't whether we're being formed, but what we're being formed into. Are we being conformed to the patterns of this world, or transformed into the image of Christ? Drawing from Romans 12:2 and the story of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, we discover that spiritual formation isn't about earning salvation—it's about establishing guardrails in our lives so that when pressure comes, when we're pulled in multiple directions, we can hear God's voice above the noise. The Mario Kart analogy brilliantly illustrates this: without spiritual practices, we're constantly falling off the edge and being rescued, but with intentional formation, we build guardrails that keep us on track even when we take wide turns. We were created in God's image, deformed by a broken world, but through Christ, we can be reformed. The challenge before us is clear: will we establish rhythms of prayer, Scripture, community, and service that connect us to God, or will we sleep through the critical moments like the disciples did?

When was the last time you truly considered what happens when we gather together as the church? It's more than just a Sunday routine—it's a powerful statement to the spiritual realm that Jesus is Lord. We are the ekklesia, the called-out ones, assembled in His name. We're not just consumers showing up for a service or lone producers doing our own thing. We're His body, interdependent and essential to one another. When we worship together, confess together, and encourage one another, something supernatural happens that can't be replicated anywhere else. Think of gathering with the church as your weekly aid station in the marathon of life. You need people to pray over you when you can't pray for yourself, to speak truth when you've forgotten it, and to spur you on when you want to give up. This isn't optional—it's essential. About every six or seven days, we need to realign ourselves with what's true. God was on to something with that rhythm. Don't drift. Stay connected to His Word, to prayer, and to His people.

Are you running at someone else's pace or abiding in Christ? This Sunday we explored what it means to sustain a spiritual life without burning out—not through striving, but through abiding. Jesus said in John 15, "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." The key isn't producing results in your own strength—it's staying connected to the Source and letting Him produce fruit through you. We unpacked PACE: Position (remembering you're His beloved child), Abiding (not striving), Celebrating others (not comparing), and Energy (physical and emotional health). When we forget we're weak and try to do everything for God instead of inviting Him to work through us, we spiral into exhaustion. What if instead of saying "I'm going to work for God," you prayed "God, come do Your work through me"? That's the difference between burnout and breakthrough.
