Eye of the Beholder, TNG S7 E18 Review, The Battle Bridge
2022/02/11
Counselor Troi’s investigation into the suicide of a crewman suggests a murder was committed aboard the Enterprise while it was being built, and that the murderer is still aboard. This show is dedicated to the memory of our friend, faithful listener and long time contributor to the Lou Trek Show and The Battle Bridge podcasts, Colin Higgins. We discuss his life and our thoughts on his death. It has hit me very hard, especially at a time where two family members and one of my best friends, all passed away. Please forgive the time between shows, as I have been going through a lot and due to the sensitive nature of this episode, I wanted time to pass from Colin’s death. Today James and Lou discuss (Eye of the Beholder) and what we think of it, with tonight’s guest host Chris Johnson. Credit: Main Title Theme (TV Edit) was arranged by Dennis McCarthy and composed by Gerry Goldsmith and Alexander Courage All audio used is copyrighted by CBS and Paramount and is intended to be used under the Fair Use doctrine for the purposes of review under the Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C. § 107. Masks, TNG S7 E17 Review, The Battle Bridge
2021/12/21
While investigating a rogue comet, the cultural archive concealed inside begins taking over both the Enterprise and Data. Today James and Lou discuss (Masks) and what we think of it.  Please note, Colin Higgins, a long time friend to the Lou Trek Show and Battle Bridge podcasts, was slated to be a part of this review.  Sadly, bowed out at the last minute, saying he wasn’t feeling well.  Days later, Colin took his own life.  I did not know Colin was wearing a mask of his own.  Being on the other side of the world, I couldn’t see the pain he was suffering.  The worst I ever felt about Colin was when he would get a little annoyed if James and I went on a tangent.  Other than that, I would have never suspected Colin was anything but a happy man who loved Star Trek and had a fondness for our show.  We are heartbroken over the loss of our friend.  We will discuss more about his death in the upcoming episode, Eye of the Beholder, which was very hard to record, considering the subject of suicide that the episode deals with and investigates. If anyone would like to record a little something about Colin, please do so.  Send it to [email protected] as soon as you can and it will be posted on an upcoming show.  It would really be good, if it can be done in the next few days and be a part of our next review, Eye of the Beholder.
