The Church Was Never Meant to Play Defense
2026/09/27
The Church was never meant to play defense.
In this message from Say Yes, Pastor Doug Dayton teaches what Scripture says about spiritual warfare, the authority of Jesus, Christian unity, discipleship, and the mission God has given His Church.
Jesus said, “I will build My church, and the gates of hell will not prevail.”
Gates do not attack. Gates defend.
The picture Jesus gives us is not of a frightened Church hiding from darkness. It is an advancing Church carrying the gospel into homes, workplaces, communities, relationships, and lives that desperately need the hope and freedom found in Jesus.
In this message, you’ll learn:
- Why believers are not powerless spectators
- How our authority comes from Jesus
- Why Christians must fight the enemy instead of fighting each other
- Why discipleship is spiritual training
- What it means for the Church to advance the Kingdom
Pastor Doug also shares portions of his personal testimony and the experiences that shaped his understanding of spiritual authority, prayer, evangelism, and the power of the gospel.
You are not powerless.
You are not aimless.
You are not a spectator.
Revive Church exists to introduce real people to the real Jesus.

What if something you learned to call normal was never healthy?
Our families shape how we understand love, conflict, trust, boundaries, authority, relationships, and even ourselves. The problem is that when dysfunction is all we have ever known, dysfunction can start feeling normal.
In this message from Say Yes, Pastor Doug Dayton gets deeply personal about growing up in a home marked by addiction, instability, and dysfunction, and what happened when Jesus and healthy Christian community began rewriting the patterns his family had inherited. The message then gives practical red flags and green flags that can help us identify unhealthy patterns and begin building healthier families.
In this message, you'll learn:
- How childhood patterns can quietly follow us into adult relationships
- Seven warning signs that a family may need healing
- What healthy love, communication, boundaries, and conflict resolution look like
- How to stop passing unhealthy patterns into another generation
- Why God can use healthy spiritual family to help rewrite what dysfunction taught you
Your past may explain your origin story.
It does not define your destiny.
God can teach you new ways to love, communicate, forgive, parent, build relationships, and create a healthier legacy. Doug ultimately shares how Jesus transformed his own deeply dysfunctional family and changed what “family” looked like for the generations that followed.
If this message speaks to you, like the video, subscribe to Revive Church, and send it to someone who is determined to build something healthier than what they inherited.

You Were Never Meant to Follow Jesus Alone
2026/09/13
You were never meant to follow Jesus alone.
In this message from Say Yes, Pastor Doug Dayton teaches why biblical community is not an optional part of discipleship. It is part of God's design for the Church.
Doug begins with a story from his grandfather’s childhood during the Great Depression. His family had done everything they could to prepare their farm for harvest, but when his father became seriously ill, they had no way to bring the harvest in themselves.
Then one morning, the community showed up.
Neighbors came. Friends came. Churches came. Even people who barely knew them came and harvested their fields.
Decades later, his grandfather did not remember the crops nearly as much as he remembered one truth:
They were not alone.
That is what the Church is meant to be.
In this message, you will learn:
- Why biblical community is part of discipleship, not an optional extra
- Why every believer has a place and purpose in the body of Christ
- How God often strengthens, protects, and encourages us through other believers
- Why spiritual isolation makes believers more vulnerable
- How your presence, service, prayer, and relationships strengthen the entire Church
Teaching from Hebrews 10, 1 Corinthians 12, Ephesians 4, Galatians 6, and Romans 5, Pastor Doug shows us that Christianity was never designed to be consumed alone.
The Church is not simply something you attend.
You are part of the body.

You Didn’t Lose Your Faith. You Stopped Using It.
2026/09/06
What happens when you still believe in God, but the yes you gave Him has been damaged by disappointment?
In this message from Say Yes, guest speaker Minister PJ Ward from Believers City Church in Red Oak, Texas teaches from Mark 9 and the story of a desperate father who tells Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief.”
Sometimes you did not lose your faith. You simply stopped using it.
Sometimes the yes that brought you out of one season is not strong enough to carry you into the next. Failure, waiting, disappointment, comparison, spiritual exhaustion, and unanswered prayers can leave your faith feeling overdrafted.
But Jesus is not intimidated by a broken yes.
In this message, you’ll learn:
- Why unused faith can become weak without actually being lost
- How to stay in line with God even when you are still in need
- Why the faith that brought you into one season must keep growing for the next
- What spiritual shaking can reveal about how close Jesus really is
- Why Jesus may heal where your belief broke before addressing what hurts now
Minister PJ reminds us that Jesus is not only the God who heals.
He is the God who revives.
If your faith has been disappointed, exhausted, confused, or stretched beyond what you expected, this message is for you.

What happens when the Jesus you follow never disagrees with you?
We live in a world where almost everything can be customized. Our food, music, entertainment, social feeds, and even the information we consume can be adjusted around our preferences. The danger is that we can start doing the same thing with Jesus.
In this message from Say Yes, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches from Colossians 2 about what it really means to become rooted in Christ. Following Jesus is not building a playlist of His teachings we already agree with. Jesus is Lord, which means He gets to change us instead of us editing Him.
But discipleship does not stop with Jesus and me. Scripture repeatedly places believers in fellowship with other believers. Real Christianity is formed through the Word, obedience, prayer, relationships, accountability, service, and a life connected beneath the surface to the body of Christ.
In this message, you'll learn:
- Why you cannot customize Jesus around your preferences
- Why hearing biblical truth is not the same as obeying it
- How to recognize whether your life is actually being formed by Jesus
- Why Christianity was never designed to be a solo journey
- Why you can worship with thousands but still need to be known by a few
Scriptures referenced include:
Colossians 2:6-10
John 1:14
Luke 6:46-49
John 8:31-32
Acts 2:41-47

Why Am I Spiritually Exhausted?
2026/08/23
The Holy Spirit is not an energy drink for your soul.
In this message from Say Yes, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches on the power Jesus promised His followers through the Holy Spirit. Many believers are trying to live from borrowed energy: spiritual highs, emotional moments, conferences, YouTube prophets, inspiration, and hype. But borrowed energy always runs out.
God did not promise borrowed energy. He promised power.
Teaching from Luke 24, John 14, Acts 1, Acts 2, Acts 4, and Ephesians 5, this message explains why the Holy Spirit is not a vibe, a feeling, or a spiritual quick fix. He is the promised Helper, Counselor, and source of power who gives believers confidence, boldness, and authority to live as witnesses to Jesus.
In this message, you will learn:
- Why borrowed spiritual energy cannot sustain your calling
- Why inspiration is not the same as transformation
- Who the Holy Spirit is according to Jesus
- How the Holy Spirit gives believers confidence and boldness
- Why we need fresh filling for the capacity God is giving us
Scriptures referenced include:

Do You Have to Be Baptized to Be Saved?
2026/08/16
The water does not save you. Jesus does.
In this message from Say Yes, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches what water baptism really means and why it matters. Using the picture of a wedding ring, he explains that baptism does not create your covenant with Jesus, just like a ring does not create a marriage. Baptism is the public sign that your allegiance has changed.
Teaching from Acts 8, the Ethiopian eunuch, Matthew 28, Acts 16, and Romans 6, this message answers some of the biggest questions people have about baptism:
Does baptism save you?
What if I was baptized as a baby?
What if I was baptized as a kid but did not understand it?
What if I sin after I get baptized?
Why does baptism need to be public?
If you belong to Jesus, you go public with Jesus.
Scriptures referenced include:
Acts 8
Ephesians 2:8-9
Acts 16
Matthew 28:18-20
Acts 2:41
Romans 6:3-4

You Cannot Follow Jesus on Your Terms
2026/08/09
You said yes to Jesus. But did you understand what you were saying yes to?
In the opening message of Say Yes, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches from Matthew 16 and the words of Jesus: deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.
Jesus never hid the terms of discipleship in fine print. He made them clear.
Following Jesus is not simply adding Him to your life, praying a prayer, or asking Him to bless the plans you already made. Jesus is not only Savior. He is Lord. That means He has the authority to lead, correct, call, send, stop, and redirect every area of our lives.
In this message, you will learn:
• Why following Jesus requires more than simply believing in Him
• What it means to surrender ownership of your life to Jesus
• Why taking up your cross means putting your old life to death
• How to stop returning to the habits and identities Jesus already buried
• Why saying yes to Jesus ultimately leads to resurrection and new life
Scriptures referenced include:
Matthew 16:21-26
Romans 12:1
Romans 6:4-6
Romans 10
Matthew 7
The gospel is not self-improvement. Jesus does not renovate your old life. He calls it to the cross and gives you a new one.

Stop Sleeping Through a Move of God
2026/08/02
You can be in the room and still miss what God is doing.
In this message, Pastor Luke Gary challenges Revive Church to take ownership, lean in, and wake up to the move of God happening right in front of us. Teaching from Acts 20 and Luke 9, this sermon shows how easy it is to be present physically while your heart is checked out spiritually.
Eutychus was in the room while Paul was preaching, but he fell asleep at the window. Peter, James, and John were on the mountain during the transfiguration, but they were very sleepy. The question is not just whether we are near a move of God. The question is whether we are awake to it.
In this message, you will learn:
• Why it is possible to be present but spiritually checked out
• How to recognize when you are becoming a liability instead of an asset
• Why ownership means leaning in, not hanging back
• How to increase your capacity for growth and service
• Why it is time to wake up and become part of what God is doing
Scriptures referenced include:
Acts 20:7-12

Sin Is Not the Root. Dishonor Is.
2026/07/27
Sin is not the root. Sin is the fruit.
In this message, Revive Church is challenged to see honor as one of the most important foundations of a healthy spiritual life. Teaching from Romans 1:21, this sermon shows that dishonor is often the birthplace of sin. When we dishonor God, dishonor our marriages, dishonor our church, dishonor our relationships, or dishonor the responsibilities God has given us, the fruit that follows is disorder, compromise, and death.
Honor is not just respect. Honor is living in a way that refuses to disrespect, neglect, or reject what you are connected to.
In this message, you will learn:
• Why sin is often the fruit of dishonor
• How honor protects what you value
• Why what you honor determines what controls you
• How honor creates boundaries that protect your life
• Why honor always produces life

Stop Negotiating With What God Told You to Throw Down
2026/07/19
Breakthrough does not always come through overwhelming strength. Sometimes the tide turns because someone ordinary decides to go all in.
In this message, Pastor Doug Dayton teaches from 2 Kings 9 and the story of Jehu, a military commander who received a word from God and moved without hesitation. Jehu was not campaigning for a throne. He was simply serving faithfully when God interrupted his ordinary life with an extraordinary assignment.
This sermon is a direct call to stop delaying, stop waiting for another sign, stop negotiating with what God has told you to confront, and throw down the things that have been holding you back.
In this message, you will learn:
• Why breakthrough often begins with ordinary obedience
• How to move when God speaks instead of waiting for another sign
• Why some battles are proof you are exactly where God wants you
• What it means to confront what has been running the show
• Why you cannot go all in with God while holding on to what He is setting you free from

You Are Not What Stained You | Pastor Brett Esslinger
2026/07/12
You are not what stained you.
In this message, Pastor Brett Esslinger teaches from 1 Corinthians 6:11 and reminds us that Jesus does not merely cover sin. He cleanses us. The enemy may keep a file on your past, but Heaven has written a new story about you.
Many believers live forgiven but still feel dirty. They believe Jesus saved them, but still introduce themselves by their shame, their diagnosis, their past, their label, their regret, or their old identity. But Scripture says, “Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed. You were made holy. You were made right with God.”
This sermon is a direct reminder that your past may explain you, but it does not define you. Jesus did not just change your destination. He changed your identity.
In this message, you will learn:
* Why Jesus cleanses you instead of just covering your past
* How shame keeps believers stuck even after they have been forgiven
* Why your old record was nailed to the cross
* How to stop identifying with what Jesus already buried
* Why freedom is a gift, but staying free is a discipline

Abiding in Jesus Is Not a Feeling
2026/07/05
The goal of pruning is not to be cut back. The goal of pruning is to produce more fruit. In this final message from The Pruning Season, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches from John 15 on what it really means to abide in Christ. Abiding is not a vague spiritual feeling. It is not simply attending church, feeling close to God, or asking Him to bless decisions we already made. Jesus said, “Abide in Me,” because without Him we can do nothing. This message shows how abiding becomes practical in the life of a believer. Abiding looks like the Word living in you. It looks like prayer that glorifies God. It looks like obedience to Jesus, biblical love, walking in the Spirit, staying planted in the body of Christ, and faithfulness in the work of the kingdom. If you have been walking through a pruning season, this sermon will help you stop grieving what God cut back and start believing for the fruit He is producing. In this sermon, you will learn:What Jesus meant when He said to abide in HimWhy the goal of pruning is always fruitHow to recognize the fruit of the Spirit in your lifeWhy abiding is not the same as feeling close to GodHow the Word of God becomes a lamp to your feetWhy prayer should glorify God instead of simply relieving your stressHow obedience reveals love for JesusWhy biblical love tells the truth and wants God’s bestHow walking in the Spirit becomes a daily lifestyleWhy staying planted in the body mattersWhy your labor in the Lord is never wastedScriptures referenced include:John 15:4-8John 15:10John 15:12Galatians 5:16Galatians 5:22-23Psalm 119:105Philippians 4:6-7Luke 6:461 John 4:111 Corinthians 12:27Hebrews 10:24-251 Corinthians 15:58If this message challenges you, take a moment to like the video, subscribe to Revive Church, and share it with someone who needs to stay connected to Jesus in a pruning season.Revive Church exists to introduce real people to the real Jesus.Subscribe for more sermons, Bible teaching, and practical messages that help you follow Jesus with clarity, courage, and obedience.#ThePruningSeason #John15 #AbideInChristRevive Church | 1221 S Center St | Arlington, TX 7601000:00 - The Goal of Pruning Is More Fruit

Not Every Bad Day Is the Devil
2026/06/28
Not every bad day is the devil. Not every setback is spiritual warfare. Sometimes the problem is the enemy. Sometimes the problem is us.
In this message from The Pruning Season, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches from Mark 4 and shows how Jesus explained the way the enemy attacks the Word before it has time to produce fruit. The enemy does not care if your life is hard or comfortable. He cares if your life is unfruitful.
This sermon will help you understand the difference between taking responsibility for your own sin and discerning when the enemy is actually working against the seed of God’s Word in your life.
You will learn:
How Satan attacks the Word while it is still a seed
Why pressure exposes shallow roots
How the cares of this world choke the Word over time
Why spiritual warfare is not panic, drama, or performance
How Scripture functions as both seed and sword
Why maturity means submitting to God before resisting the devil
How to fight from victory instead of fighting for victory
Scriptures referenced include:
Mark 4:14-20
1 Peter 5:8-9
Ephesians 6:10-17
James 4:7-8
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
John 15
Colossians 3
Hebrews 12

Stop Managing What God Told You to Kill
2026/06/21
Some things in your life cannot be prayed away, worshiped over, renamed, justified, or decorated with spiritual language. Some things have to be killed.
In this message from The Pruning Season, Pastor Stephan Kilgore teaches from Colossians 3 on the difference between what God prunes and what we are responsible to put to death. God will convict you, but He will not repent for you. He will point out the sin, but He will not remove your responsibility to obey.
Many believers are asking God for the fruit of the Spirit while still feeding the works of the flesh. We call it personality, boundaries, private life, weakness, transition, or rest, but sometimes the Holy Spirit is calling it sin.
This message will challenge you to stop managing what God told you to kill.
In this sermon, you will learn:
How your identity in Christ gives you the foundation for holiness
Why shame is a terrible foundation for transformation
The difference between conviction and condemnation
Why Colossians 3 tells believers to put sin to death
How sin grows when it is fed
Why some things cannot be managed, minimized, or renamed
How to walk in the Spirit and stop feeding the flesh
What self-pruning looks like spiritually, practically, and relationally
Scriptures referenced include:
Colossians 3:1-11
Romans 8:1
Romans 8:13
Matthew 16:24-26
Matthew 5:29-30
James 1:14-15
1 Peter 2:11
Galatians 5:16
