Description

Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. For more than four decades, the Hulk has smashed his way across television and movie screens in a variety of forms, interpretations, and continuities. From the groundbreaking television series starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno to big-screen reimaginings, superhero team-ups, and appearances throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Bruce Banner's struggle between man and monster has remained one of comic books' most enduring stories. In this series, Now Playing Podcast reviews every live-action Hulk movie, beginning with the television pilot that launched The Incredible Hulk, continuing through the trio of television reunion films, the ambitious Ang Lee adaptation, the modern Marvel films, and any future chapters still to come. Along the way we'll examine the many faces of Bruce Banner, the evolving visual effects used to bring the Jade Giant to life, and the different ways filmmakers have explored the character's themes of rage, isolation, power, and redemption. Sometimes the Hulk is a tragic figure. Sometimes he's a rampaging force of nature. Sometimes he's a superhero, a scientist, an Avenger, or all three at once. No matter the incarnation, the Hulk remains one of Marvel's most fascinating and complex characters. Join us as we revisit every transformation, every rampage, and every smash-worthy adventure in the long and incredible history of the Hulk.
