Hello From the Other Side 26/27- Doncaster Rovers (a)
2026/10/22
Ahead of Sheffield Wednesday's League One clash with Doncaster Rovers, Dan Fudge is joined by Rovers supporter Adam Gittings for the latest episode of Hello From The Other Side from The Wednesday Week podcast.
With Doncaster struggling for consistency this season, we get the opposition perspective on what's going wrong at Rovers and whether Grant McCann can turn things around.
Adam looks back at last season's 14th-place finish, the expectations heading into the 2026/27 campaign and whether Doncaster's summer recruitment has delivered. We discuss the departure of Luke Molyneux, the arrivals of Alfie May, James Collins and Will Keane, and whether Rovers have enough firepower to climb the League One table.
Injuries have also played their part, but how much of Doncaster's difficult start can be attributed to an unsettled squad, and how much responsibility lies with the manager?
We also discuss Henrik Pedersen's Sheffield Wednesday, what Adam makes of the Owls' promotion ambitions and what both sides can expect from Saturday's South Yorkshire derby.
Finally, where will Sheffield Wednesday and Doncaster Rovers finish this season, and what's Adam's score prediction?
Get the Doncaster Rovers perspective ahead of Sheffield Wednesday vs Doncaster Rovers on The Wednesday Week.

Five Alive!
2026/10/19
Sheffield Wednesday put five past AFC Wimbledon at Hillsborough, extending their unbeaten run to nine games, but was this the performance Owls fans have been waiting for?
This week on The Wednesday Week, we look back at Wednesday's emphatic 5-0 victory, the impressive form of Davis Keillor-Dunn and whether Henrik Pedersen is finally getting the best out of his Sheffield Wednesday squad. We also ask whether criticism of the manager has been misunderstood. After all, wanting better football doesn't necessarily mean wanting a new manager.
Away from the pitch, we discuss the news that Sheffield Wednesday Supporters' Trust chairman James Silverwood has been invited onto the club's board. Is this a major step forward for fan engagement, or does it raise questions about independence and accountability?
Plus, we look at the latest injury and selection news, Wednesday's League One promotion prospects and Tuesday night's trip to Notts County.
Five goals, plenty of opinions and, as ever, absolutely no guarantee we'll all agree.
The Wednesday Week. By Wednesday fans, for Wednesday fans.

Two games for the guys to review this week. Up first was the Ham Sammich Cup and the visit of Sunderland U21s. And then after a few weeks off and on the training pitch it was return to League One action and a trip to 'Uddrsfield.
Can the owls remain unbeaten on the round or will the Terriers be the toughest test yet.
These and lots more including Ash's turn at his hot topic.

Hello From the Other Side 26/27 - Huddersfield (a)
2026/10/06
Sheffield Wednesday vs Huddersfield Town is the focus of our latest Hello From The Other Side as the Owls prepare for another Yorkshire clash in League One.
Dan is joined by Richard Kosmala from the And He Takes That Chance podcast to get the Huddersfield Town view ahead of the game.
We look back at last season as Kosi explains why a side expected to be challenging for promotion ultimately fell short, how much the managerial changes played their part and whether Huddersfield underachieved with the squad they had.
Then it’s onto this season. What has changed under Martin Drury? Has the summer recruitment finally got the balance right? And after a strong start, is this a Huddersfield side capable of mounting a genuine promotion challenge?
We also get Kosi’s view on Henrik Pedersen’s Sheffield Wednesday, where the two sides could cause each other problems and where he expects both clubs to finish this season.
And, as always, we finish with a score prediction.

Unpopular Opinions
2026/10/05
It’s the international break, there’s very little actual football to talk about, so naturally we’ve decided to start an argument instead.
This week, Dan Fudge is joined by Ash, Jon and Simon for an Unpopular Opinions special, putting some long-held Wednesday beliefs under the microscope.
Are Sheffield Wednesday really a sleeping giant? Should we get rid of the band? Does anyone actually care about the Manchester City charges? And what exactly was that bloke with the phone supposed to be doing?
Some opinions will be defended, some will be immediately regretted and there’s every chance we’ll annoy a decent percentage of the fanbase along the way.
Get involved and let us know your unpopular Wednesday opinion.

HOT TOPICS!
2026/09/28
With no Sheffield Wednesday football to fall out over this weekend, we’re bringing back an old TWW favourite… with a brand-new name.
The TWW Q&A is now HOT TOPICS! 🔥
Dan is joined by Charlie, Stevie and Hollie to tackle your questions on all things Sheffield Wednesday, SWFC and beyond, with the usual irreverent TWW approach.
We’re talking the Owls, Hillsborough, football, your hot takes and more than a few completely unnecessary hills to die on. And, as an added bonus, Dan gets absolutely RINSED on the interwebs after making the terrible mistake of having an opinion in public.
Expect questionable logic, outlandish opinions, arguments nobody asked for and the usual Wednesday Week nonsense.
You asked. We answered. The internet responded…

Stockport, Stalemate and Second
2026/09/21
Sheffield Wednesday were held to another goalless draw at Hillsborough as Stockport County left S6 with a point.
This week on The Wednesday Week, we looked back at the 0-0 draw, the switch to a 4-3-3 and whether Wednesday offered enough going forward. We discussed Santos’ performance, the impact of Kieran Morrison and Harry Gray from the bench, and some worrying attacking numbers, including just six shots, two on target and only eight touches in the Stockport box.
We also got into Jamal Lowe’s prowess in front of goal and asked whether Wednesday are getting enough from him, before turning our attention to the gaffer, Henrik Pedersen, and discussing his capabilities, his tactical decisions and how he’s handling this new-look Wednesday side.
Elsewhere, we reacted to David Blunkett, Howard Wilkinson and Clive Betts being named Lifetime Presidents, caught up with the youngsters’ progress in the Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup, and talked about a brilliant weekend off the pitch with the first TWW sensory packs handed out at Hillsborough and the WAWAW Facebook group fundraiser at Wednesday Warehouse.
All that and plenty more Wednesday chat.

6 Points away, Olé Olé
2026/09/07
What a week it’s been for Sheffield Wednesday! The Owls came from behind to beat Wycombe, battled past Peterborough and ended the weekend sitting top of League One—but it wasn’t all good news, with Louie Barry ruled out for up to three months.
We look back at both victories, the controversial incidents at Adams Park, another sold-out away end, the arrivals of Jaden Heskey and Davis Keillor-Dunn, the new blackout third kit and whether expectations at Hillsborough have already shifted towards promotion.

My Wednesday - The Man Behind The Mask
2026/09/03
For 20 years, thousands of Sheffield Wednesday supporters have known him simply as Barney Owl. Now, the man behind the mascot, Jimbo (@aleandaudio), joins The Wednesday Week to tell his story.
Jimbo takes us right back to how he became Barney Owl, including the unusual interview process, his first appearances at Hillsborough and what it was like working alongside the legendary Ozzie Owl.
We find out what an average matchday actually involves when you're inside one of Sheffield Wednesday’s famous mascot costumes, hear some of his favourite memories from two decades at SWFC and relive two trips to Wembley.
There are plenty of stories from the stranger side of mascot life too — including mascot-to-mascot beef, unusual Barney appearances and, of course, the infamous moment Barney Owl tackled Robbie Savage!
Jimbo also discusses one of his most memorable and significant moments as Barney: holding up the black and gold scarf in protest against the club’s ownership and what happened afterwards.
Finally, we talk about the emotional scenes following the game against Bromley, when Jimbo left Barney’s boots and scarf behind at Hillsborough and brought an incredible 20-year chapter to an end.
From seeing generations of young Wednesdayites grow up to representing the club at Wembley, this is the story of Jimbo and 20 years as Barney Owl.

The Magnificent Seven
2026/08/31
Sheffield Wednesday. Seven goals. Nine goals in one afternoon. New signings. Injuries. And potentially another new arrival on the way. It’s certainly not been a quiet week at Hillsborough!
⚠️ A quick heads-up before we get going – we have a few sound issues right at the start of the show, but they don’t last long and everything soon gets back to normal. Stick with us!
This week on The Wednesday Week, we’re looking back at an extraordinary few days for Sheffield Wednesday, starting with Tuesday night’s 2-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Wolves before getting stuck into Saturday’s remarkable 7-2 demolition of Bromley in League One.
We discuss Louie Barry’s brace, impressive performances from Jamal Lowe, Mason Burstow and Callum Slattery, the attacking football on display and whether this result tells us something significant about what Henrik Pedersen is building at Hillsborough.
Away from the pitch, there’s plenty to talk about too. Reece James is officially back at Sheffield Wednesday, Iraqi international Ali Al-Hamadi has arrived on loan from Ipswich Town and rumours are gathering pace that Manchester City youngster Jaden Heskey could be heading back to Hillsborough.
But there are concerns too, with Sil Swinkels, Max Lowe and Harry Gray all facing injury problems as Wednesday’s squad continues to evolve.
Plus, we’ll round up the rest of the latest news from around the club, including the latest from Sheffield Wednesday Ladies.
It’s another packed edition of The Wednesday Week – the award-winning independent Sheffield Wednesday podcast.
