In Matthew 12:46–50, Jesus says something shocking—those who do the will of His Father are His true family. In Matthew 12:38–45, the religious leaders demand a sign from Jesus, despite all they’ve already seen. Jesus tells them to look for the sign of Jonah where the Son of Man will be buried in the earth for 3 days before miraculously rising to proclaim good news of hope.  For us, thousands of years later, the sign remains the same: the Resurrection of Jesus. He is risen! How will you respond?

 In Matthew 12:22–37, Jesus heals a demon-possessed man, and the crowd begins to wonder if He might be the long-awaited Son of David. But instead of considering the evidence, the Pharisees accuse Jesus of working by the power of Beelzebul. More than addressing the issue at hand, Jesus exposes the root issue for the Pharisees, showing that our words reveal the true condition of our hearts. This sermon, “Heart Check,” challenges us to examine what our speech says about what’s inside us—and points us to the hope of forgiveness and transformation found in Jesus.

 In Matthew 12:15–21, Jesus does something unexpected: He withdraws instead of confronting His enemies. For many, that might seem confusing—kings aren’t supposed to retreat. But Matthew shows us that what looks strange to us is actually the fulfillment of God’s bigger plan. Quoting Isaiah, this passage reveals who Jesus truly is: the Father’s beloved Son, the gentle and compassionate Judge, and the hope of the nations. He doesn’t crush the weak or silence the struggling—He restores the bruised and rekindles the fading flame. Even when we don’t see it clearly, God is at work in a much bigger story of redemption across the world. And the same Jesus who brings hope to the nations invites us to share that hope with those around us.

In this message from Matthew 11:28–12:14, we explore Jesus’ powerful invitation to true rest. The Pharisees turned God’s good law into a crushing burden—but Jesus reveals that He is Lord of the Sabbath and the giver of real, soul-deep rest. If you’re weary from trying harder, doing better, or carrying spiritual weight you were never meant to bear, this passage reminds us: rest isn’t found in a program, performance, or self-improvement plan—it’s found in a Person. “Come to me… and I will give you rest.” Are you exhausted? Come to Christ and find the freedom and grace your soul longs for.

 Do not be afraid! After warning his disciples of the danger they may face proclaiming the gospel, Jesus reassures us with the same message he gave to his original disciples: do not be afraid. Join us as we finish Jesus' evangelism instructions with 5 reasons we should not be afraid as we proclaim the good news of the kingdom.

As Jesus prepares his disciples to share the good news of salvation, he doesn't sugarcoat the negative, hostile reaction that some will have. Although Christians will be hated just as Jesus was hated, we should strive to be blameless in our conduct, trusting in our proclamation, and confident in the presence and movement of God.
