Can You Relate?: Our Most Important Relationship (Devan Bumstead) E02
2026/09/13
Jesus said the greatest commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and strength.” In the Shema, those words call us to much more than simply believing in God or feeling affection toward Him. We are invited to love God with our whole inner life, our entire embodied existence, and everything we have—our whole “muchness.” God is not meant to be one relationship among many, but the relationship at the center that properly orders every other love in our lives. And this love doesn’t begin with us trying harder to love God; it begins with receiving the love He has already given us. As His love becomes more central in us, it should increasingly reshape the way we love our spouses, children, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and everyone around us. Who Is Jesus?: I Never Knew You (Devan Bumstead) E16
2026/08/02
In Matthew 7:15–23, Jesus warns that correct beliefs, spiritual appearances, and impressive ministry accomplishments are not the same as truly knowing him. False prophets may look like sheep, and destructive fruit may appear good from a distance, but a person’s true character is eventually revealed by the fruit their life produces. The Christian life is not about earning God’s approval through religious activity; it is about abiding in the love of Jesus and allowing his Spirit to form genuine love, joy, peace, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control within us. Jesus’ words, “I never knew you,” are both a sobering warning and a gracious invitation to stop performing, surrender our striving, and rediscover the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. Scripture References: Matthew 7:15–23; John 15:4–5, 9; Galatians 5:22–23; Philippians 3:7–9; 1 Corinthians 13:1–3. Sources: Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount; The Gospel of Matthew by William Barclay; teachings from Tim Keller; BibleProject; A. W. Tozer on abiding as “habitual, conscious communion” with God.   For more information about our church, visit npfcc.org To help support the ongoing work of NPFCC and our mission partners around the globe, you can make a donation at npfcc.org/give

Who Is Jesus?: Pray Like This (Ken LaMont) E11
2026/06/21
In this Father's Day message, we explore the profound significance of the Lord's Prayer, positioned at the very center of Jesus's Sermon on the Mount. This isn't by accident—Jesus intentionally placed prayer at the heart of kingdom living. Discover how the Lord's Prayer is more than just words to recite; it's a transformative practice designed to shape our hearts and align our lives with God's purposes. Jesus gave us this prayer not as religious repetition, but as a proactive spiritual discipline that reminds us who we're talking to, realigns our will with His, and draws us closer to our Heavenly Father. Through each phrase—from recognizing God's holiness to requesting daily provision, from receiving forgiveness to finding deliverance—we learn that prayer isn't primarily about getting something from God, but about getting close to God. It's about knowing the Father, not just knowing the prayer. This message challenges us to move beyond reactive, crisis-driven prayer to an intentional practice that transforms us from the inside out. What would happen if you prayed the Lord's Prayer three times a day for the next week? How might it shape your perspective, your relationships, and your walk with God? Matthew 5-7 (Sermon on the Mount) Matthew 6:9-15 (The Lord's Prayer) Luke 11 (Disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray) Deuteronomy 6:4-9 (The Shema) Mark 4:1 (Jesus tempted in the wilderness) Mark 9 (Demon cast out through prayer) For more information about our church, visit npfcc.org  To help support the ongoing work of NPFCC and our mission partners around the globe, you can make a donation at npfcc.org/give
Who Is Jesus?: Hidden Faith’s True Reward (Devan Bumstead) E10
2026/06/14
In a culture obsessed with being seen, Jesus calls us back to hidden faith. Pastor Devan explores Matthew 6:1-16, challenging us to examine our motives behind any spiritual practice we engage in. Are we doing these to be noticed by others, or to genuinely connect with God? When we seek the Father's approval in the secret place rather than chasing earthly applause, we discover the reward our souls truly long for—His "atta boy" that satisfies like nothing else can.
