Genesis 39: Joseph finds himself in Potiphar's house. While Joseph has endured unimaginable trauma and pain from his brothers' betrayal, he now finds himself rising to power in the distant land of Egypt. While he is there, he finds the hand of God's blessing—and the power of temptation. What will Joseph do? This week, we will explore the story of Joseph in Potiphar's house, where he will learn some strange lessons about faithfulness to God.
A Sprig of Hope in Dark Times
2026/09/28
Genesis 37, as we have been reading, tells the story of Joseph's dreams, his being thrown into the pit, and his enslavement. It is a time of great pain for Joseph. But something odd happens in Genesis 38. The story shifts its focus from Joseph to Judah. While many popular Bible studies and sermons overlook this strange chapter, they do so to their own detriment. In this little story, we are going to learn that God is up to something very special in a period of great pain. Come to hear more.
Joseph in a Pit
2026/09/22
This week, we continue in the Joseph series. His brothers were infuriated that Joseph got the treasured robe from their father. And their anger and jealousy come to a head. They throw him in a pit and then sell him into slavery in Egypt. Joseph has a hard road ahead—but, it is going to be a road that shapes him and makes him prepared for what God wants to do through him. Ever been in a pit? Come and hear how Joseph handled his own.
Joseph the Dangerous Dreamer
2026/09/15
This week, we are starting a series on the biblical character of Joseph. Joseph was the youngest son of a broken family. As he begins having some strange dreams, it becomes clear that while God is up to something, some painful realities will be exposed in his life. It all starts with some dangerous dreams. Come as we prepare to meet and learn from the ancient biblical man, Joseph.
Knowing God vs Having a Relationship with God
2026/09/09
This week, we are going to reflect upon the difference between knowing about God and having a relationship with Him! In Matthew 16, when Jesus and His disciples traveled to Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" Simon Peter's response to Jesus, and Jesus's response to Peter, is an important shift in how we, as Christ followers, understand the gospel! God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him, and it's awesome.
A People of the Presence
2026/09/01
This week, we are taking time to reflect on the early story of Peter and John before the Sanhedrin. They are in trouble because of a miracle God performed through them. In this little story, we learn what these disciples were known for. They were known as people "who had been with Jesus." (Ac. 4:13) What a remarkable statement about the early Christians. And what a statement should be made of us! We will be taking some time to be prayed for as we begin a new school year.
The Transforming Power of God's Kindness
2026/08/26
This week, we are going to talk about the transforming power of God's kindness. In a look at a number of core biblical stories and texts, we are going to look at how God, time and again through Scripture, reveals to us that it is God's nature to be kind to us. And, by virtue of that, to transform us through that kindness.

Called To Follow Jesus Again
2026/08/10
In our final week in the Called series, we are going to look at the beautiful passage in John's gospel about Peter's restoration to Jesus. Having denied Jesus, what is Peter to do? In a breakfast encounter with Jesus, Peter learns what Jesus does with our failures. And how he loves to use them (and us) to do his work in the world through us.
Converting Our Identity

Called to be a Leader
2026/07/29
This week we will look at the character of Moses, whose journey to becoming a leader was anything but easy. It is a story of God working through doubt and insecurity to accomplish His purposes, and it offers a reminder that each of us are called to be leader in the places God has placed us.
Called to the Prophetic
2026/07/20
In our Called series, we are exploring what it means to be a people who are called with Christ. This week, call back to the ancient prophet Jeremiah—sometimes called the "weeping prophet." In his calling, God not only speaks to him about his identity but also about his sacred task in the world. This week, we will explore what it means to be a spokesperson on God's behalf, as humble prophets.
Called to Everyday Ministry
2026/07/14
In our Called series, we are exploring what it means to be a people who are called with Christ. This week, we are going to look at a married couple who are mentioned a number of times in Scripture: Aquila and Priscilla. Little is known about these individuals. But what we do know is that they used the everyday rhythms of their lives—their home, their time, and their resources—to do ministry. We are going to look at their model as a way of considering our own calling: to use the everyday of our lives as the place where we do the work of Christ.
Called to Mission
2026/06/30
Isaiah 6:1-8 with A.J. Swoboda — As part of our sermon series 'Called,' we are reading Isaiah 6, where we learn that Isaiah has a vision, an experience that would transform him at his very core. This vision of the Holy One of Israel would not only cause him to fall on his face; it would also send him into his calling of speaking truth to the people of God. Come and hear how our vision of God may have the same impact on us.
Called to Work
2026/06/22
Genesis 2:2-15 with AJ Swoboda — This Sunday we are continuing the Called series by exploring the early story of the first humans, Adam and Eve. When God created them, they were given assignments by their Maker to work in the Garden of Eden to do fulfil their sacred vocation. Whether you're in an office, raising a family, serving others, or building something with your hands, your work matters because it is offered to the Lord.
