Description

I wrote a bunch of awful stories when I was younger. Now I'm forcing professional actors to read them aloud with me, and we get to find out whether they're actually as terrible as I remember. Every week on Character Development, Vince Dajani digs up an old short story, screenplay, novel, or other regrettable writing from his past and reads it with a guest who has made the terrible mistake of agreeing to participate. There are space smurfs. There are phallic giants. There are murderers who apparently enjoy musical theater. And occasionally, something Vince wrote 15 years ago turns out to be... actually good? It's a comedy podcast about looking back at the terrible things you made, surviving your own artistic adolescence, and discovering that maybe you've gotten a little better. You will cringe. Vince will cringe harder. Episodes released weekly. Bonus content at Patreon.com/VinceDajani

My Teenage Slasher Story Spends More Time On Paint Colors Than The Kills
2026/10/06
My teenage Bloody Mary urban legend story spends more time describing paint colors and floor plans than actually scaring anyone. Co-host Chris and I read every cream-colored detail written by someone who had clearly never been to a raging party before finally reaching the scare on page eight. Character Development is a comedy podcast where voice actors and I roast my cringiest old stories. The First Draft of My Murder Mystery Podcast Starred A Wife-Killing Russian Mortician
2026/09/29
Before I published a murder mystery podcast, its first draft starred a 70-year-old Russian mortician who talks to ghosts and murdered his wife. Voice actor Sarah Golding joins me to perform the original unaired pilot, Russian accent and all, and we find out how much changed before 'How i Died' ever got made. 0:00 Welcome Sarah Golding 4:11 How to do a Russian accent 5:46 Cold open: the morgue standoff 9:55 Meet Victor Spader 16:34 The viewing (and 20 kids?) 26:12 The ghost who was murdered 30:42 Act 2: Victor refuses to help 38:19 Enter Coroner Crowley 46:26 The secret in Victor's apartment 55:39 Victor's wild deductions 58:54 "I killed my wife" 1:01:08 Breaking down the twist 1:07:43 Sarah's own horror writing 1:12:27 Where to find Sarah If you think this is funny and you want more, head to https://Patreon.com/VinceDajani
At 16, I Wrote A Sci-Fi That Is Mostly About Giant Phallic Monsters
2026/09/29
My teenage sci-fi horror story has three pages of lore, space elves who crouch-walk everywhere, and giants described in a deeply unfortunate way. Now I’m reading it out loud. Voice actor Chris Harris-Beechy joins me from inside my TV to roast “Nocturne,” a handwritten story from 2007 that was never meant to be seen again. Episodes released weekly. Come Laugh And Cringe With Us | Character Development: A Comedy Podcast: Out Now
2026/09/23
At some point in their life, most writers have written really terrible stories. Vince Dajani has, for some reason, kept them all. Now he's going to force his very talented actor friends to read them. Every week on Character Development, a comedy podcast, Vince and a guest who has regrettably accepted, read through a sci-fi, horror or thriller piece of writing. There are teen slasher's where every character sounds edgy as hell. There's sci -fi giants that read just a little bit too much like giant penises. And there's a murderer who enjoys musical theater for some reason. With guests like Brandon Kyle Goodman, Guillermo Diaz, Katie Lowe's and Sarah Golding, there's sure to be laughs and plenty of cringing.
