Why Worship Matters
2026/09/27
18th Sunday after Pentecost Sermon Series: Re/Discovering Worship Sermon: Why Worship Matters Scripture: Isaiah 6:1-8 Why does worship matter? Is worship simply something we do each week, or can it change the way we see God, ourselves, and the world around us? As we continue our series Re/Discovering Worship, we’ll explore why worship matters and what can happen when we come into God’s presence with open hearts. Before Sunday, consider: Why does worship matter to me? What happens within me when I truly encounter God? Does my worship change the way I live beyond Sunday? Am I coming to worship ready to hear and respond to God? Worship Schedule 8:45am: Contemporary Worship 10am: Sunday School 11am: Traditional Worship
Barriers and Challenges to Worship
2026/09/20
17th Sunday after Pentecost Sermon Series: Re/Discovering Worship Sermon: Barriers and Challenges to Worship Scripture: Psalm 95:1-7 What gets in the way of worship? Sometimes the barriers aren’t obvious. Distractions, busyness, habits, expectations, or even what we carry with us into church can keep us from fully engaging with God. As we continue our series Re/Discovering Worship, we’ll take a look at some of the barriers and challenges that can affect the way we worship. What makes it difficult for me to fully engage in worship? What distractions do I bring with me? Have I allowed routine or familiarity to change the way I worship? What might I need to let go of in order to be more open to God? This Sunday, we’ll explore Psalm 95:1-7 and consider what it means to come before God with open hearts and a willingness to worship. What might be standing between you and wholehearted worship? Worship Schedule 8:45am: Contemporary Worship 10am: Sunday School 11am: Traditional Worship
Why are you here today?
2026/09/13
16th Sunday after Pentecost Sermon Series: Re/Discovering Worship Sermon: Why are you here today? Scripture: Psalm 24 Why are you here today? It’s a simple question, but maybe not such a simple answer. We all come to worship for different reasons. Habit? Community? Encouragement? To hear a word from God? To sing? To pray? Because it’s Sunday? As we begin our new sermon series, Re/Discovering Worship, we’ll take a closer look at what worship really means—and why we’re here in the first place. Before Sunday, take a few minutes to think about: Why do I come to worship? What am I hoping to experience when I’m here? What do I bring with me into worship—and what do I hope to take with me when I leave? Is worship something I attend, or something I participate in? This Sunday, we’ll explore Psalm 24 and ask a question that might be worth asking more often: Why are you here today? We hope you’ll join us as we begin Re/Discovering Worship. Worship Schedule - September 13 8:45am: Contemporary Worship 10am: Sunday School 11am: Traditional Worship
Living Out Our Faith

In James 2:14-18, we’re reminded that faith isn’t just something we believe—it’s something that should be visible in the way we live, love, serve, and care for others. In John 15:1–8, Jesus gives us the image of the vine and the branches and reminds us that a fruitful life comes from staying connected to Him. So, what are you chained to? But what if waiting isn't where God stops working...what if it's where He does some of His best work? Join us this Sunday. We'd love to worship with you. In Mark 10:46-52, Bartimaeus is sitting on the sidelines when everything changes. When Jesus calls his name, he doesn't hesitate—he throws off his coat, leaves his old spot behind, and heads straight toward Jesus. That coat may have been comfortable. It may have felt safe. But sometimes the things we cling to can keep us from stepping into what God has next for us. As we begin this new series, we'll explore what it means to respond when Jesus calls, to let go of what holds us back, and to trust God enough to take the next step—even when we don't know exactly where it will lead. Join us this Sunday as we discover that sometimes faith begins with a simple but courageous decision: go ahead, take off your coat.
