He has academic qualifications in philosophy, theology, and sociology, and likes to mix them all up when trying to understand how strange the ordinary features of our contemporary way of life are. Fiona McAnena grew up in Northern Ireland during the Troubles, graduated from Cambridge University, and worked in brand management and marketing strategy in multinational businesses. In 2018, she became concerned at how trans demands were eroding women’s rights and got involved in the resistance. She spent five years as a volunteer with Fair Play For Women, working across its campaigns and directing its successful work in sport. She joined Sex Matters in early 2024 as director of campaigns.

Tom Murphy is a professor emeritus of physics and astronomy/astrophysics at the University of California, San Diego.  Tom retired early from his academic career to focus on planetary limits and escaping the trap of modernity with the intent to learn more about ecological relationships in the community of life.

David Neils is the executive director of Wild Nature Media. He is a wildlife conservationist, filmmaker, and wildlife activist. He has spent the last twenty one years filming and studying mountain lions in Colorado and Montana, capturing completely wild footage of mountain lions and other predator and prey species. He did his PhD on the hydrology and ecology of caves in southwest Western Australia. Stefan loves wild and natural landscapes, and one of his favourite places is the vast Nullarbor Plain on the southern edge of the Australian continent. He first visited the Nullarbor as a young cave diver more than 40 years ago and has returned many times since to research, explore  and document the Nullarbor’s extraordinary cave systems. Shodo Spring began with a childhood where refuge was in woods, wildflowers, and sunny meadows. Through a winding path including a degree in physics, marriage and children, growing political awareness, and Zen Buddhism, she committed to working with climate change through changing consciousness, recognizing that technology would never be the solution. In 2013 she led a walk along the KXL route, then adopted a bit of land in Minnesota, meant to be a center for spiritual community and radical action. The book, Open Reality, is meant to support that action by inviting people to join the vision and the action.

Frank Forencich is a biocentric guy trying to make a go of it in an anthropocentric culture. He's studied human biology, martial art, and traveled to Africa to experience the human ancestral environment. He's the author of several books about health and the human predicament including "The Sapience Curriculum" and "Beware False Tigers." His newest book is Honor the Animal.

Deanna Lynn Wulff is the Executive Director of Unite for Parks, an 501c3 nonprofit, which she founded. Their focus is on ensuring that our national park system is maintained and funded, and that new national parks are created.

George Wuerthner is the former Ecological Projects Director for the Foundation for Deep Ecology. Currently he is the executive director of Public Lands Media. He is an ecologist and wildlands activist. He has published 38 books on environmental issues and natural history including such environmentally focused books as Welfare Ranching, Wildfire, Thrillcraft, Energy and most recently Protecting the Wild.

Dr. Chad Hanson is a research ecologist with the John Muir Project, and is the author of the book, "Smokescreen: Debunking Wildfire Myths to Save Our Forests and Our Climate"

Sofia Castelo is a climate adaptation practitioner, researcher, and landscape architect with over 20 years of experience designing and managing landscape, urban design, and environmental projects in Europe, China, the USA, Australia, and Malaysia. She holds a graduate degree in Landscape Architecture and postgraduate degrees in Project Management and Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies. Sofia is currently focused on using nature-based solutions for urban adaptation. The 'Nature-based Climate Adaptation Program for the Urban Areas of Penang Island', a project she led and is currently in execution, won the Climathon Global Cities Award 2020 and the KSAAEM Award 2022. In 2023, she co-founded the El Collective, an integrated arts and research project documenting the impact of climate change on women and girls in the Global South.

Deanna Lynn Wulff is the Executive Director of Unite the Parks, an 501c3 nonprofit, which she founded. Their primary goal is to protect 1.4 million acres of federal land between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks by creating the Range of Light National Monument. In the 11-year campaign, from grassroots to grasstops, she has learned much about America's political infrastructure, and has stories and suggestions about how we citizens might regain control in an oligarchy and bring democracy back.
