Becoming Who We Are: We Are The Messengers of The Gospel
2026/10/18
Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | October 18, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Ephesians 3:1-11, Luke 15:1-2, Matthew 25:31-40 Reflection Questions: 1. Have you ever had an experience where you were reading the Scriptures or hearing the Scriptures taught where you thought “I feel like this is speaking directly to me and my situation.” Describe that/those experience(s). What do you think is happening in those moments? How is the Holy Spirit at work? (Hebrews 4:12) 2. To start Ephesians 3, Paul breaks into a section where he talks about how the message of the gospel of grace impacted/changed/directed his life… Read Ephesians 3:1-11. How does Paul see his status or qualifications as a messenger of the gospel? Why would Paul say this about himself? What was his past? How do you feel about your qualifications as a messenger of the gospel? What is it that qualifies you to be a messenger? 3. Paul was passionate that “everyone” would know the message of God’s grace. Do you feel that same passion? Why or why not? How does that impact how you live your life? 4. Skim Luke 15… Jesus has a heart for everyone who is lost to be found. He focuses on the ONE and celebrates ONE changed life… How does focusing on the ONE make the task of EVERYONE more manageable? Who is the ONE in your life who you could extend God’s gospel of grace? Find out about their spiritual life? Invite to church? 5. God intends for the church to be a visible manifestation of his wisdom and Kingdom. What are examples of how the church could/should display God’s wisdom and heart to a watching world? 6. Read Matthew 25:31-40. How does Matthew 25 inform what the church should be doing? How can you personally be part of meeting the needs of the world around you? 7. “Do for ONE what you wish you could do for EVERYONE.” How can living that out make the job of changing the world more manageable and attainable? 8. What could happen if everyone in the church lived with this kind of passion for the ONE? How does this actually bring heaven to earth and fulfill the calling of the church? What’s your next step? Becoming Who We Are: Jesus Makes Us One
2026/10/11
Jim Keena | Guest Speaker | October 11, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Ephesians 2:11–22, Ephesians 4:2–4 Reflection Questions: 1. Read Ephesians 2:11–12. Paul tells these Gentile believers to remember who they were before they knew Christ. How does he describe them? Can you remember life before you knew Jesus? What has changed? If you came to faith as a child, how has Jesus shaped your life as you’ve grown? 2. Read Ephesians 2:13. Notice the phrase “But now.” What changed for the Gentiles? How did Jesus bring them near? Last week, we learned that we are saved by grace, not by works. How do we see that same truth here? 3. Read Ephesians 2:14–16. Jesus reconciled Jews and Gentiles to God and to each other. Why did both groups need the cross? What does this reveal about our own need for Jesus, even if we’ve been in church all our lives? 4. Imagine standing at the temple barrier and being told, “You can come this far, but no farther.” How would that feel? Have you ever felt like an outsider at church? What might we do, even unintentionally, that makes someone feel unwelcome? 5. Read Ephesians 2:17–18. Pay attention to the words “you,” “those,” and “we both.” Who is Paul talking about? How do both groups come to the Father? How might we be tempted to think that some Christians have better access to God than others? 6. Read Ephesians 2:19–20. These Gentiles were once outsiders. Now they are citizens and family members. We belong to the same household! What is the difference between attending the same church and sharing life as a family? How could we better live like 7. Read Ephesians 2:21–22. God is building a temple out of people, and he lives among them by his Spirit. Why does Paul emphasize that we are being built together? What do we miss when we try to follow Jesus on our own? 8. Jim talked about being married for 45 years. Becoming one in marriage begins a lifetime of learning to live as one. How does that help us understand unity in the church? What helps you keep loving someone when it’s difficult to get along? 9. Read Ephesians 4:2–4. Paul tells us how to live as one: be humble, gentle, patient, and make allowance for one another’s faults. Which of these do you most need to practice? Think of a specific person. What would that look like this week? 10. The sermon opened with the question, “Since Jesus has made us one, how do we live as one?” Some of our differences run deep, but we still belong to one another in Christ. Who could you get to know, invite into your circle, or make peace with this week? What is your next step? What’s your next step? Connect: We'd love to connect with you! Becoming Who We Are: Transformation Through Grace
2026/10/05
Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | October 4, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Ephesians 2: 1-10, 2 Corinthians 5:21 Reflection Questions: 1. Read Ephesians 2:1-3. What does it mean to be “dead in your transgressions and sins,” apart from a relationship to Jesus? Why could this be hard for people to believe? What evidence do we see in the world that people are “dead”? Does this mean that people are without value or worth? Why or why not? 2. Define the things Paul says we follow in life: the ways of this world… the ruler of the kingdom of the air… the cravings of our flesh… 3. Give examples of how we personally can follow these influences in our life. 4. How would you explain the wrath of God to someone? How does it feel to hear that we are ALL deserving of God’s wrath? How does God’s wrath relate to God’s love? How do these two aspects of God exist together at the same time? 5. Read Ephesians 2:4-7. What phrases in this text describe the character of God? 6. “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,” describes what theologians call our Union with Christ. What does it mean that we are united with Christ? What is true of Jesus that is true of us now because of our union with him? 7. Read 2 Corinthians 5:21. What is Paul describing as being exchanged here because of our union with Christ? 8. Read Ephesians 2:8-10. Define the following words: Grace… Saved… What are we saved from? What are we saved to? Faith… 9. What two things does Paul make sure we know DOES NOT save us? What are some implications of this truth? Why can this truth be difficult to get our mind around? 10. Bob described a Gospel Triangle in his sermon… (Rewatch that section if you need to refresh your memory.) What was something that stuck out to you from that diagram? 11. How does the world think very differently about how our identity and approval are created vs. how the gospel explains our identity? How can this make the gospel of grace difficult for people to live out or even understand? How can someone know if they are living from a place of religion or a place of grace? What’s your next step? Becoming Who We Are: How do we hear the Holy Spirit?
2026/09/27
Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | September 27, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Ephesians 1:13-23, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Revelation 12:10 Reflection Questions: 1. Have you ever questioned whether you are truly a child of God? Explain. What was it that caused you to question or doubt? If those questions were resolved, how were they resolved? If not, why not? What are some other reasons that people may question whether they belong to God? 2. Read Ephesians 1:13-14. What are some observations you can make about the Holy Spirit from this text? According to the text, who has the Holy Spirit? When do we receive the Holy Spirit (ie. when does the Holy Spirit come into our lives)? What does the “sealing” of the Holy Spirit mean for us? What does it mean that the Holy Spirit is a “deposit” and how do experience that reality? What is the “inheritance” that Paul speaks of? 3. Then, Paul prays the Spirit would actively work in our life… Read Ephesians 1:17. What does Paul expect/want the Holy Spirit to do in our lives? What is the difference between knowing God and knowing “about” God? How is it that we grow up in knowing God and not knowing about God? 4. Read Ephesians 1:18a. What is the “hope to which he has called you”? What is your hope in right now? Is it in something that can be taken away in this life or the next? Explain. Why is it difficult if not impossible to live well without hope in this life? 5. Read Ephesians 1:18b. How does it make you feel to know that God sees you as His rich inheritance? What does this say about how God truly sees you? 6. We learn to KNOW and DISCERN God’s voice through: HOLY SPIRIT, WORD, and the COMMUNITY of BELIEVERS (CHURCH). What is the danger if any one of these three is missing? Which one of these do you need to grow in currently? How specifically can you move toward that in this next season? How can you quiet the noise in your life to allow God’s voice to be louder in your life? Assignment: 1. Read 1 chapter of Ephesians each day. 2. Write at least one observation/reflection each day. 3. Ask two questions of your observation/reflection… a. God, what are you saying to me? (Believe) b. God, what do you want me to do about it? (Behave) 4. Share it with at least one person. 2026/09/20
Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | September 20, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Ephesians 1:3-14 Reflection Questions: 1. What are negative messages you heard about yourself in your life that shaped how you viewed yourself? How can those messages shape our identity? How is it possible to overcome those negative messages? 2. Read Ephesians 1:3-14 — What truths about you from this passage are most meaningful to you right now? What truths are most difficult to accept? How can we learn to believe and receive these truths that God declares over us? 3. Read Ephesians 4:14-15 — How can we help each other learn to live out the realities of our true identity in Christ? 4. Who is someone that you could encourage by affirming in them the truth about their identity? What would you want to affirm in them or about them? When will you do it? 5. 2026/09/13
Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | September 13, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Ephesians 4:1, 11-13, Luke 2:51-52 Reflection Questions: 1. Describe your experience of the church in your life. What has been positive? What has been negative? What would you want to change about your church? 2. Why do you think the church in America has experienced so much decline in engagement over the past 25 years? What do you think are the specific reasons people disengage? How would you evaluate your level of engagement? 3. Read Ephesians 4:11-13 — The body of Christ (church) is the context where we “grow up” and mature and become like Christ. Why do you think the church is necessary for you to mature as an All In follower of Jesus? What are some specific and practical ways the church has helped you to grow? How have you helped others to grow? (Give some specific examples.) 4. What about the church makes growing in unity and maturity difficult? Share some personal experiences. 5. How could you be part of building up the church “until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”? 6. How can it be encouraging and hopeful to know that the early churches in the New Testament also had lots of problems and challenges that needed to be addressed in Paul’s letters to them? Assignment: 1. Read 1 chapter of Ephesians each day (Mon → Sat) 2. Write at least one observation/reflection each day (Simply something that grabs your attention) 3. 2026/08/30
Vern Streeter | Guest Speaker | August 30, 2026 Referenced Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:1-5 Generosity inspires generosity (1-2) Follow-through turns vision into reality (3-4) Preparing for generosity prevents arm-twisting (5) Reflection Questions: 1. Rate yourself (1-10) on a Parsimony Scale (Parsimony: Extreme unwillingness to spend money). 1 = I hate spending money and do it as little as possible. 10 = I spend myself into oblivion. 2. Where did you learn that? Who taught you that? 3. Rate yourself (1-10) on an Avarice Scale (Avarice: Extreme greed for wealth). 1 = Money and material gain drives all my decisions. 10 = Money is a tool and I only need a couple tools. 4. Where did you learn that? Who taught you that? 5. Have you ever been fooled/manipulated into giving money for someone/something? What happened and how did that feel? How has that affected your generosity? 6. The churches in Macedonia inspired the church in Corinth to be generous. Who has positively influenced your generosity and how have they done that? 7. What things can you do to not give “grudgingly” (reluctantly because of avarice)? (2 Cor. 9:5). 8. How does grace (unearned kindness) affect your view and practice of generosity? Vision is easy. Talk about an idea/vision you had that turned out way harder than you anticipated? 3. Think about a time when you struggled to be a person of your word. How’s that going? 4. What are some ways you can bring fairness and justice into your little world? 5. Rather than recounting financial malfeasance and getting angry, talk about a time you saw exceptional financial integrity. 6. What are some ways you can personally do 2 Corinthians 8:21? Unreasonable Grace: Grace Inspires Generosity
2026/08/16
Vern Streeter | Guest Speaker | August 16, 2026 Big Idea: God’s unreasonable grace under unreasonable circumstances inspires unreasonable generosity. * Unreasonable economics (1-5) * Unreasonable overflow (6-7) * Unreasonable grace (8-9) Referenced Scripture: 2 Corinthians 8:1-9 Reflection Questions: 1. Got a good laceration story?! 2. What is one thing you learned from the teaching on 2 Corinthians 8:1-9 and what difference will it make? 3. What is both unreasonable and reasonable about Grace (undeserved kindness)? 4. Talk about the “unreasonable equation” in verse 2: Severe suffering + Overflowing Joy + Extreme Poverty = Rich generosity. 5. Have you ever given “as much as you were able, and even beyond your ability?” (v.3) How’d that go? 6. Do you have any interest in “excelling in the grace of giving?” (v. 7) Any ideas how you might do that? 7. Macedonia inspired Corinth to be generous (v. 8). Who has inspired you and how did they do that? Who are you hoping to inspire? 8. Verse 9 is one of the most pithy and profound descriptions of the Gospel of Jesus – what does it mean and what does it mean to you? 9. If you’re a Christian, turns out your rich! Reflect on your “wealth” and what you will do with all that. What’s your next step? * Connect: We'd love to connect with you! Book of Romans: Call To Take The Gospel

Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor | August 9, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Romans 1:16-17, Romans 10:13-15, Romans 15:20, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, John 17:20-21, John 1:14 Reflection Questions: 1. Throughout the book of Romans, Paul explains the truth and power of the gospel message and gives the church the mission to take that message to the world…Read: Romans 1:16-17, Romans 10:13-15, Romans 15:20If you had to evaluate your passion for the mission of taking the gospel to the world, what would you say about yourself? (excited, burdened, indifferent, scared, …) Explain… Where do you see things that you need to grow? 2. If the unity of the people of God is a major theme of seeing the world changed, where do you see the state of the church in the U.S.? What would need to change in the church? How would you think the church should go about growing in unity? What could you do personally? 3. Do you feel comfortable in your faith or challenged in your faith? Why do most people try to gravitate toward being comfortable? What is the cost of being comfortable? 4. Reflect on the life and ministry of Jesus… How did he consistently bring people to a place of challenge in their faith? Why do you think it takes challenge to bring change to people in most cases? How have you experienced challenge in your life bringing growth and change to your faith? How can we consistently bring challenge to our own life and faith? 5. Jesus modeled by becoming a person that bringing the Kingdom to earth is to be done personally and organically and intentionally. 6. If God places us intentionally in places where we can personally be an influence for the Kingdom, where are the places God has placed you right now? How can you be an influence in that place with your life? How has God used you in the past? How do you hope that He will use you in the future? 7. Who are people in your life whom you can invest and invite? (Invest in their life and relationship and invite them to join at church or in some way along your spiritual journey.) Book of Romans: Love that Builds
2026/07/26
Logan Holloman | Next Gen Pastor | July 26, 2026 Referenced Scripture: Romans 14:13-23 Reflection Questions: 1. Looking back at this week's message, what stood out to you most? Was there a verse, phrase, or idea that challenged or encouraged you? 2. Paul says, "Make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification" (Romans 14:19). Who has been someone in your life that consistently built you up in your faith? What did they do that made such an impact? 3. Throughout the sermon we asked the question, "Will this build?" Think about a current relationship, disagreement, or area where you have strong convictions. How might asking that question change the way you respond this week? 4. Paul reminds us that Jesus is still shaping each of us. Is there an area where the Lord has changed or matured one of your convictions over time? How does remembering that help you show humility and patience toward believers who are still growing? What’s your next step? * Connect: We'd love to connect with you! Book of Romans: Veggies & Holidays
2026/07/19
Logan Holloman  |  Next Gen Pastor  |  July 19, 2026 9am   Referenced Scripture:  Romans 14:1–9, 2 Timothy 2:22–26   Reflection Questions: 1. Where do you see yourself most tempted to make secondary issues feel like primary issues?(Examples: politics, worship styles, parenting, schooling, spiritual gifts, cultural preferences, personal convictions.) Follow-up: Why do you think we are so quick to turn differences of conviction into judgments about someone's faith?   2. Romans 14:3 says, “God has accepted them.” How should remembering that God has welcomed someone change the way we approach believers who think differently than we do? Follow-up: What is the difference between "accepting" someone and simply "agreeing" with someone?   3. Paul says, “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?” (Romans 14:4). Where are you most tempted to take a role that belongs only to Jesus? Follow-up: What does it look like practically to trust Jesus as Lord over someone else's spiritual growth instead of trying to control it?   4. Romans 14:8 says, “Whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” How does belonging to Jesus change the way we hold our convictions, opinions, and freedoms? Follow-up: What is one area where Jesus may be inviting you to move from being "right" toward being more like Him?   What’s your next step?  Connect: We'd love to connect with you!
