Gospel Part 4: The Cross
2026/10/04
There's a pivotal moment in every story. This moment in God's story (and ours) is at a place and an event that no one was expecting. God invites us into the story at the Cross.
Gospel Part 3: The Kingdom
2026/09/27
Everybody carries a picture of how things are supposed to go, and most of us never notice it until something refuses to match it. This week follows a man who announced that everything was about to change, and then watched his own hometown try to kill him for describing what that change would look like. From there the story moves through a synagogue, a packed house with a hole in the roof, a Roman officer's home, and a funeral, and the same reaction shows up in every room: amazement, and then confusion. It ends with the one person who should have understood him best sending a question from a prison cell, and an answer that leaves one line off the list.
Gospel Part 2: The Announcement
2026/09/20
A text message about a snow day lands in one house and produces two opposite reactions in the same room. A messenger bursts into a banquet with news that empties the table in seconds. An empire carves its own good news into stone a few years before a birth in a backwater town nobody was watching. What decides whether news is good or bad may have nothing to do with the news at all.
Gospel Part 1: The Promise
2026/09/13
Everybody has a word they have used for years without ever being sure what it means, and most of us would rather keep nodding than admit it. This one gets said constantly, sung about, printed on signs, and when a lifelong insider finally worked up the courage to ask what it meant, the answer started four thousand years earlier than anyone expected. It began with a seventy-five-year-old man with no children, no map, and a very strange invitation from a voice he was not looking for. What he was told under the stars that night is still being kept, and it has more to do with what spills out of you than with anything you could earn.
Mercy Part 3: Practical Mercy
2026/09/06
What if the small frustrations of everyday life—traffic, messy spaces, inconvenient people—are actually revealing something deeper in us? What would it look like to slow down, pay attention, and rediscover a way of living that moves beyond self-protection and comfort? Through familiar stories of Jesus, we’re challenged to become people who notice, move toward, and lift up those around us.
Mercy Part 2: Relational
2026/08/30
There's a space between you and every person in your life, and something is always growing in it. Most of us fill it with whatever the other person threw in first: the sharp word, the silence, the thing they did that you still can't shake. But what if what they put in has no bearing on what you put in? An old story about an unpayable debt, a man begging for time, and the hands that pleaded and then choked asks a harder question than “how many times?”—and it won't let you off with a number.
Mercy Part 1: Mercy Has a Name
2026/08/23
What's the first thing you would say about yourself if you had one chance to tell the whole world who you are? Thousands of years ago, on top of a mountain, that question was answered out loud, spoken to a group of people who had just committed the ultimate betrayal against the one speaking. What they heard in that moment was not what anyone expected, and it has been quoted, memorized, and clung to by desperate people ever since. Because the way that voice chose to introduce itself might change everything you assume is waiting for you on the other side of your worst failure.
Sin Part 4: But Now
2026/08/16
You've probably rehearsed the speech before. Sitting at a red light, lying awake at two in the morning, running through all the reasons why the thing you're hiding should stay hidden — it would cost too much, it would hurt them worse, honestly it's not even that big a deal. Turns out those exact arguments were made a long time ago, by people a lot like us, and they got answered. What happened when the arguments ran out is the part nobody sees coming.
Sin Part 3: The Hidden Parasite
2026/08/09
In week three of the series on sin, we walk through Romans 7 to show how sin twists even God’s good commands into opportunities for rebellion and death. Paul reminds us that the law is holy and good, but it cannot rescue us from the power of sin — it can only reveal our need. Sin acts like a parasite, attaching itself to our desires and draining life from us, but our hope is not in willpower. The answer to “Who will rescue me?” is found only in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sin Part 2: The Predator Who Reigns
2026/08/02
Everyone wants to be the one calling the shots. It's practically the definition of a life well lived. But what if the seat of control is a trap, and the freest-feeling choice you make quietly puts you in chains? An ancient story about two brothers, an ignored warning, and a crime in a field suggests that something has been hunting human beings since the beginning, and it knows your name. Before you can fight it, you'll have to answer one question honestly: who have you been obeying?
Sin Part 1: Treason in the Garden
2026/07/26
There is one thing every human being who has ever lived has in common, and it is the thing we work hardest to keep hidden. We are quick to name it in other people and remarkably slow to name it in ourselves, and most of us are working from a definition we inherited rather than one we ever examined. It goes all the way back to a garden, to a conversation that sounded harmless right up until it wasn't, and to a question nobody wanted to answer. What if the thing you have been calling a mistake was never a mistake at all?
Hosea Part 6: Unfailing Love
2026/07/19
There’s a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from trying to fix yourself with the same tools that keep failing you. We get good at managing symptoms — the frustration, the pretending, the constant reaching for something to make us feel secure — while the thing underneath goes untouched. What if the real problem was never the thing you keep trying to fix, and what if the answer was never going to come from trying harder? An ancient story about a broken marriage asks whether a person can be changed by something other than their own willpower.
Hosea Part 5: Exodus or Exile?
2026/07/12
God's people were supposed to be distinct, but instead they had become spiritually mixed up—trusting foreign nations, chasing false gods, and forgetting the God who had faithfully rescued them from Egypt. God exposes Israel's compromise through vivid images: a half-baked cake, a discarded pot, a wandering donkey, and an abandoned altar overgrown with thorns. Yet beneath the warnings is the aching heart of a Father who refuses to give up on His children. Rather than placing our hope in political alliances, personal strategies, or counterfeit saviors, God invites us to remember His faithfulness, return to Him in repentance, and trust the One who ultimately delivers us through Jesus Christ. The God who brought Israel out of Egypt is the same God who has rescued us from sin, and His compassionate heart still calls His people home today.
Hosea Part 4: The Divine Longing
2026/07/05
You can do everything right and still be a stranger to the person you claim to love most. From the outside, a life can look successful — even admirable — while something underneath is quietly coming apart. And when we finally feel the wreckage, most of us run to the wrong rescue, chasing fixes that were never able to heal us. What if the thing you’ve spent years performing for was never the thing that was wanted from you at all?
Hosea Part 3: The Cost
2026/06/28
On the surface, everything was working — money coming in, the right alliances, a life that photographed well. Underneath, something was quietly rotting, and almost no one could see it. Then a man was asked to do the one thing no one in his position should ever have to do: go and love the person who had already walked out on him. What he does next costs far more than anyone bargained for.
