School Of The Spirit: Integrity 201 | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/09/27
What if the key to standing strong when life gets difficult isn’t making the right decision in the moment—but making the decision before the moment ever comes? In this powerful message, Pastor Eric uses one of the most vivid illustrations imaginable—a game of Jenga—to show us how integrity works in real life. Just like a Jenga tower rarely collapses all at once, our lives rarely fall apart because of one massive decision. More often, it happens one plank at a time. One compromise. One shortcut. One small decision that seems insignificant in the moment. Eventually, what we’ve been building can no longer stand. The story of Daniel in Babylon gives us a powerful picture of what it means to live with conviction. Before Daniel ever sat down at the king’s table, he had already made up his mind about who he was and what he would stand for. He pre-decided. That simple idea is at the heart of this message. Conviction isn’t something we should try to discover in the heat of the moment. Conviction is something we establish before the moment ever arrives. Because when we wait until we’re lonely, tempted, exhausted, pressured, or surrounded by compromise to decide what we believe, we’ve already made the decision much harder than it needed to be. This message challenges us to honestly examine our lives and ask: • Am I living by convictions or simply by preferences? • Have I already decided what I will and will not compromise? • Who am I when nobody is watching? • What decisions am I making today that will shape who I become tomorrow? • Have I pre-decided what I will do when temptation comes? • Am I building my life on something strong enough to stand? Daniel didn’t wait until the pressure came to figure out what he believed. He had already made up his mind. That’s the power of pre-deciding. The strongest convictions are established before the pressure arrives. And the small decisions we make today are building the person we will become tomorrow. Don’t wait for the moment to decide who you are. Decide now. 👋 New to Citygate? We’d love to connect: https://citygate.tv/new 🙏 Need prayer? School Of The Spirit: Integrity 101 | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/09/20
What if the key to the life God wants for you isn’t more talent, more opportunity, or more influence—but integrity? In this powerful message, Pastor Eric challenges us to examine whether our behavior truly matches what we say we believe. Integrity is more than honesty—it’s being whole, complete, and undivided, where who you are privately matches who you are publicly. We live in a culture that often celebrates image over integrity. Image can be managed. Reputation can be curated. Talent can open doors. But eventually, what’s underneath the surface will be revealed. Integrity isn’t determined by your circumstances. Your circumstances reveal your integrity. Through Scripture, Pastor Eric shows us that integrity is built in the small decisions—the moments when nobody is watching, when doing what’s right costs something, and when compromise would be easier. This message challenges us to ask: • Does my private life match my public life? • Am I the same person when nobody is watching? • Can God trust what I’m building? • Am I choosing what is right even when it costs me? • What kind of example am I leaving for the next generation? Proverbs 20:7 says, “The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” Your integrity doesn’t just affect you. It impacts your family, your relationships, your influence, and the generations coming behind you. Talent may take you somewhere, but character determines whether you can stay there. If there are areas where your integrity has been compromised, the answer isn’t to hide them—it’s to make them right. Apologize. Tell the truth. Keep your commitments. Live holy. Let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no. Because at the end of the day, integrity is simple: Doing what you ought to do—even when it costs you. 👋 New to Citygate? School Of The Spirit: The Battle In Me | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/09/13
What happens when the greatest battle you’re fighting isn’t around you—but within you? In this powerful message, Pastor Eric takes us to Galatians 5 and explores the battle between the Spirit and the flesh. Scripture tells us that these two are opposed to one another, fighting for influence over the way we think, choose, and live. When we choose Christ, our spirit comes alive—but the battle for the throne still has to be won. Every day, we face moments of stimulus and choice. What happens around us can influence our thoughts, but we still have a choice about what controls our actions. The question is: Who is sitting on the throne? If we want to be led by the Spirit, we have to stop being led by the things that compete with Him: By a culture that doesn’t follow God. By friends who don’t follow God. By our circumstances. By our feelings. What’s happening to you cannot overpower what God is doing in you. And you cannot be led by feelings and faith at the same time. The Spirit leads us according to the Word—not simply according to what we think, want, or feel. Walking by the Spirit means learning to recognize His presence, respond to His promptings, and make room for Him to lead. But it also means dealing with the flesh. God doesn’t want to kill you—He wants to kill what’s killing you. Your flesh is either crucified or in control. You don't need to get saved again every morning. You need to put the flesh back on the cross every morning. You take up your cross so the flesh doesn’t climb back into the chair. The Word is the sword. The Spirit is the power. The chair is the decision. You may be fighting a battle right now with thoughts, emotions, desires, circumstances, or strongholds that have been competing for control. But you don’t have to stay bound. The Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and the Word of Jesus are weapons God has given us to walk in freedom. It’s time to start winning the battle. Take up your cross daily. Know the Word. Commit yourself to God. Close every open door. Confront the enemy in prayer. Who is really in control? 👋 New to Citygate? School Of The Spirit: Spirit vs. Flesh | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/09/06
SPIRIT V FLESH What’s really controlling the way you think, choose, and live? In this powerful message, we dive into Galatians 5 and the battle happening between the Spirit and the flesh. Scripture tells us that the desires of the flesh and the desires of the Spirit are opposed to one another—but when we walk by the Spirit, we no longer have to be controlled by the desires of our flesh. Every day, the flesh and the Spirit are pulling us in two completely different directions. The flesh is selfish. The Spirit is selfless. The flesh wants credit. The Spirit gives honor. The flesh compares. The Spirit celebrates. The flesh follows feelings. The Spirit follows truth. The flesh chooses convenience. The Spirit chooses conviction. The flesh lives by fear. The Spirit lives by faith. This isn’t simply about behavior modification or trying harder to become a better person. God gives us a new heart and a new spirit. The battle is over whether our mind, will, and emotions will continue taking their direction from the flesh or become governed by the Spirit. Walking by the Spirit isn’t about willpower—it’s about the Spirit’s empowerment. To “walk by the Spirit” means staying connected to the divine source of power and going wherever He leads. The Spirit sets the pace, and our responsibility is to keep in step with Him. Some things in our lives cannot be negotiated with anymore. Strongholds have to come down. Lies have to be replaced with truth. The flesh doesn’t get the final vote. The Name of Jesus. The Blood of Jesus. The Word of Jesus. These are weapons God has given us to confront the enemy, demolish strongholds, and walk in freedom. You don’t have to live controlled by your feelings, your impulses, your past, or the lies of the enemy. Walk by the Spirit. Keep in step with the Spirit. Follow truth over feelings. Choose conviction over convenience. Live by faith instead of fear. The Spirit sets the pace. Our job is to keep in step. 👋 New to Citygate? The Choice of a New Generation | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/08/30
HE CHOICE OF A NEW GENERATION What kind of faith are we handing to the next generation? In this powerful message, Pastor Eric challenges us to consider what the Church of the future will look like—and whether the faith we carry today is something the next generation will experience for themselves. Scripture warns of a generation that grew up without personally experiencing the presence of God or seeing what He had done. We cannot simply hand down traditions. The next generation needs an encounter with Jesus. Culture is constantly offering us a “new formula”—something more comfortable, more popular, and easier to accept. But the Gospel doesn’t need a new formula. The Word of God is still the standard. The Cross still works. The blood still flows. The Spirit still empowers. We don’t need something new—we need Jesus. The question is: **What are we willing to trade?** We cannot sell truth for trends, convictions for comfort, or power for pleasure. What we refuse to compromise today becomes what we have available to hand to the generations coming behind us. We cannot sell out the truth about sin. We cannot sell out repentance. We cannot sell out the blood. We cannot sell out being set apart. We cannot sell out a Spirit-filled life. Normal doesn’t mean biblical. The hunger to fit in should never outweigh the calling to stand out. We have not been called to follow the trends of culture—we have been called to live according to the Word of God. This generation doesn’t need a more comfortable Gospel. It needs the real thing. Bring holiness back. Bring righteousness back. Bring faith back. Bring Jesus back to the platform. Bring the Holy Ghost back. May Jesus find faith in this generation. 👋 New to Citygate? We’d love to connect: [https://citygate.tv/new](https://citygate.tv/new) 🙏 Need prayer? After The Glory | Eric Bias | Citygate Church
2026/08/23
AFTER THE GLORY What do we do with what God has done? In this powerful message, Pastor Bias takes us to Isaiah 6 and the moment Isaiah encounters the glory of God. Isaiah sees the Lord, is confronted and cleansed by His presence, is touched by the fire—and then hears the call of God to go. The encounter wasn’t the destination. It was preparation for an assignment. Revival was never meant to become a collection of spiritual memories. God doesn’t set a church on fire so we can simply stand around admiring the flames. There is always something on the other side of an encounter. Real revival doesn’t just move us—it changes us. The question isn’t only, “Did God move in the room?” The question is, “Did God move something in me?” Did His presence change how we talk, how we treat people, how we pray, how we forgive, and how we live? The fire that touched Isaiah wasn’t punishment—it was preparation. God purified the very place He intended to use. And what God has done in you may not simply be about bringing you out of something. He may be getting you ready for something. Your deliverance has an assignment. Your healing has an assignment. Your testimony has an assignment. Your fire has a purpose. The same God who touched you wants to touch somebody through you. You are a carrier. You are a witness. You are a vessel. You don’t have to stand behind a pulpit to carry the presence of God into your home, your workplace, your school, and your community. God sent the fire. Now He’s sending us. Let the fire leave the building in you. Let the testimony leave the building in you. Let the Gospel leave the building in you. Let the presence of God leave the building in you.
Malta Moments | Brent Ireland | Citygate Church
2026/08/23
MALTA MOMENTS What if the place you thought was a setback is actually a God-ordained stop? In this powerful message, Pastor Eric takes us to Acts 28 and the story of Paul’s shipwreck on the island of Malta. Paul was on his way to Rome, but before he reached his destination, God led him through a storm, a shipwreck, a snakebite, and an unexpected stop. Sometimes we become so focused on where God is taking us that we miss what He wants to do in us and through us along the way. A Malta Moment is a season when you thought you were headed one direction, but suddenly find yourself somewhere you never planned to be. But not every stop is the work of the enemy. Some stops are necessary. Some stops are God-ordained. In Malta, Paul discovered that the same hand that was bitten by the snake could still be used to bring healing. What looked like a detour became a place of divine protection, miracles, provision, and purpose. You may be in a storm right now. You may feel stuck, delayed, discouraged, or like you've been in your own “Malta” for far too long. But remember: The same God who orders your steps also orders your stops. Keep praising. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep believing. Keep building the fire in the rain. Your Malta may not be the end of your journey—it may be the place where God prepares you for what comes next. 👋 New to Citygate? We’d love to connect: https://citygate.tv/new 🙏 Need prayer? God I Want Your Fire | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/08/16
GOD I WANT YOUR FIRE! What happens when the fire that once burned brightly starts to become nothing more than an ember? In this powerful message, Pastor Eric takes us to 1 Kings 18 and the moment when the fire of God fell on Elijah's altar. When the people saw the fire, they fell on their faces and declared, "The Lord, He is God!" God's desire has never been for His people to simply gather—He wants His fire burning in us. Throughout Scripture, fire represents God's presence, His approval, His power, His purification, and His ability to transform everything it touches. But while God sends the fire, we have a responsibility to keep it burning. Prayer is wood on the fire. The Word is wood on the fire. Praise is wood on the fire. Obedience is wood on the fire. Holiness is wood on the fire. The question isn't whether God still has fire. The question is whether there's still wood on our altar. This message challenges us to ask: • Has passion been replaced by routine? • Has worship become predictable? • Have we become comfortable with things that once convicted us? • Are we passing a genuine hunger for God on to the next generation? • Is there still a fire burning in us? God wants to burn away compromise, fear, indifference, addiction, and everything that keeps us from walking fully in His presence. His fire purifies. His fire transforms. His fire exposes. His fire empowers. And when the fire falls, people notice. God, I want Your fire.
CONNECTED:Kingdom Alignment | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/08/02
CONNECTED | Week 3: COMMUNITY What if the greatest thing shaping your future isn't what you're doing... but who you're connected to? In Week 3 of our CONNECTED series, Pastor Eric reveals God's design for biblical community and why alignment is more important than assignment. Long before God gives us something to do, He surrounds us with the people who will help us become who He created us to be. Using powerful truths from Amos, Ecclesiastes, Hebrews, Matthew, and Acts, this message uncovers how every person longs for meaning, purpose, and intimacy—and how all three are ultimately found in Christ. As we stay connected to the Vine, God reveals our purpose and then aligns us with the right people to help fulfill it. Discover why: • Alignment always precedes assignment. • Your "who" is more important than your "what." • Misalignment drains your strength, steals your effectiveness, and delays your purpose. • God uses spiritual authority, the local church, and godly relationships to position you for His blessing. • The enemy's strategy is to separate you from destiny people and connect you to disaster people. • Your future is often determined by the voices and relationships you choose to walk with. Just as a car out of alignment wastes energy and wears down prematurely, our lives become more difficult when we're connected to the wrong people or disconnected from God's design. But when we align ourselves with Christ, His House, and the right community, God releases strength, unity, favor, and purpose into every area of our lives. You were never created to do life alone. First, connect to Christ. Then discover your Cause Finally, walk with the Community God has prepared for you.
CONNECTED: Is There Not A Cause? | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/07/26
CONNECTED — Week 2: CAUSE | Is There Not a Cause? What if the greatest obstacle in your life isn't the giant in front of you... but forgetting why you're standing in the valley? In Week 2 of our CONNECTED series, Pastor Eric takes us to the Valley of Elah, where an entire army stood frozen in fear for forty days while one young shepherd saw something everyone else missed. David didn't defeat Goliath because he had better weapons—he defeated him because he was connected to a greater cause. The same giant that intimidated everyone else became the doorway to David's purpose. Through the stories of David and Jesus, this message reveals that God never creates anything without first establishing its purpose. Before there was a calling, there was a plan. Before there was fruit, there was a root. Your purpose isn't something you invent—it's something you discover by staying connected to Christ. In this message you'll discover: • Why your perspective determines whether you see giants or opportunities. • How your connection to Christ reveals your God-given purpose. • Why God declares the end from the beginning. • How your greatest battles often reveal your greatest calling. • Why blessing follows purpose, not comfort. • How to identify the cause God created you to fulfill. If you've been wondering why you're here, struggling to find direction, or feeling stuck in a valley, this message will remind you that God has already written your story. The question isn't whether there's a purpose for your life. The question is the same one David asked: "Is there not a cause?" 👋 New to Citygate? CONNECTED: The Vine & The Branch| Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/07/19
CONNECTED | Week 1: CHRIST — The Vine & The Branch What if the goal of the Christian life isn't simply to be busy... or even just faithful? What if God's greatest desire is for you to be fruitful? In Week 1 of our CONNECTED series, Pastor Eric unpacks Jesus' powerful teaching in John 15, revealing that everything in our lives flows from one relationship: our connection to Christ. Jesus is the True Vine. We are the branches. The Father is the Gardener. The question isn't whether you're trying harder—it's whether you're staying connected. Too many believers spend their lives chasing blessings instead of the One who blesses. We pursue fruit while neglecting the Vine, only to discover that real life, lasting joy, and spiritual growth can never be produced apart from Him. In this message, you'll discover: • Why God's goal for your life is fruitfulness—not just busyness. • The difference between being near Jesus and being connected to Jesus. • Why pruning isn't punishment—it's preparation for greater fruit. • How God removes what is draining your spiritual life so He can multiply what matters most. • Why staying connected during painful seasons is the key to lasting growth. • How real joy, lasting peace, and genuine love are all produced through abiding in Christ. Sometimes the greatest evidence that God is working isn't the blessing—it's the pruning. Because the branch was never expected to produce fruit on its own. It simply has to stay connected. If you've been feeling dry, weary, or wondering why God has allowed painful seasons in your life, this message will remind you that the Gardener never cuts a branch to destroy it—He prunes it because He sees the harvest that's coming. Your breakthrough isn't found in striving. It's found in abiding. --- 👋 New to Citygate? We'd love to connect with you: https://citygate.tv/new 🙏 Need prayer? I Got It In the Gutter| Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/07/12
I GOT IT IN THE GUTTER Some victories don't happen on the mountaintop—they're born in the gutter. In this powerful message, Pastor Eric takes us to 2 Samuel 5, where David faces the seemingly impossible task of conquering Jerusalem. The city was heavily fortified, the enemy mocked him before the battle even began, and the only way in wasn't through the front gate—it was through a narrow, filthy water shaft. What looked like the lowest place became the pathway to the greatest victory. Maybe you've been wondering why the road God has you on feels so difficult. Why the climb has been messy. Why you've had to fight for every step. What if the very place you've been praying to escape is actually the place where God is preparing you? In this message, you'll discover: • Why you should expect resistance when you're pursuing God's promises. • How vision and progress always require movement. • Why the way up often leads through uncomfortable places. • What God develops in the "gutters" of life that can be found nowhere else. • How to declare "Nevertheless" when circumstances say it's over. • Why your greatest struggle may become your greatest testimony. Sometimes we're asking God to deliver us from the gutter, while He's choosing to deliver us through it. Because there are some things you can only find in the gutter: • Grit. • Faith. • Strength. • Praise. • Fire. • Dependence on God. The same God who brought David through the gutter to a throne—and Jesus from a borrowed tomb to resurrection—is still bringing His people up today. Your pain doesn't have the final word. Nevertheless... you're coming up. 👋 New to Citygate? We'd love to connect with you: https://citygate.tv/new 🙏 Need prayer? For The Honor| Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/07/05
FOR THE HONOR Honor is becoming a lost art. We live in a culture that increasingly dishonors parents, authority, and even God Himself. But Scripture reminds us of a powerful promise: "Those who honor Me I will honor." (1 Samuel 2:30) In this challenging message, Pastor Eric reveals that honor isn't something people earn—it's a decision we make from a heart that recognizes the value God places on others. When we stop honoring God, it isn't long before we stop honoring people. Through Mark 6, we see how familiarity and offense caused people to treat Jesus as ordinary, limiting what He desired to do among them. Honor opens doors that dishonor keeps locked. In this message, you'll discover: • Why honoring God is the foundation for honoring others. • How familiarity can rob us of faith. • The difference between respect and honor. • How honor unlocks favor, breakthrough, and spiritual growth. • Who God calls us to honor—including our parents, those in authority, our pastors, and one another. Honor doesn't begin with our words—it begins in our hearts. The final question is one every believer must answer: Is your life honoring God? 👋 New to Citygate? Know When To Go | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/06/28
Before you ever see the miracle, there is usually one simple instruction from God: GO. In this powerful message, Pastor Eric unpacks how throughout Scripture God has always been a sending God. From Abraham leaving everything familiar, to Moses leading Israel through the Red Sea, to the blind man walking to the Pool of Siloam, every breakthrough began with a step of obedience. Too often we delay God's purpose with excuses disguised as wisdom. "Let me first..." becomes the language of hesitation, while faith calls us to move even before we understand. God's commands were never meant to become suggestions—they were invitations to trust Him. Discover five powerful truths that propel every believer forward: • Grace says GO — Your past no longer has permission to keep you parked. • Presence says GO — God's presence is what sets you apart and gives you rest along the journey. • Faith says GO — Real faith doesn't sit still; it moves while trusting God to fight the battle. • Obedience says GO — Many miracles don't happen before obedience—they happen because of it. • Power says GO — You weren't saved simply to sit. You've been empowered by the Holy Spirit to go and tell others about Jesus. Whether you've been waiting on the perfect moment, held back by fear, or believing you need to have everything figured out before taking your next step, this message will remind you that God's direction often comes one step at a time. The question isn't whether God is calling. The question is: Will you GO? 👋 New to Citygate? We’d love to connect: https://citygate.tv/new 🙏 Need prayer? So, Sew, Sow | Eric Petree | Citygate Church
2026/06/21
What if the opinions of others aren't nearly as important as you've made them? In this powerful message, we're challenged by one simple phrase: "SO WHAT?" Drawing from Romans 3:3-4, Pastor Eric reminds us that God's faithfulness is never dependent on human agreement. Just because others don't believe what God has spoken over your life doesn't mean His promise has changed. Through the stories of David, Noah, and Roger Bannister, we discover that breakthrough often happens long before anyone else can see it. Noah kept building when nobody believed. David kept fighting when nobody recognized him. Roger Bannister shattered a barrier the experts said was impossible. Their stories remind us that faith isn't waiting for approval—it's moving forward because God has spoken. The message also challenges us to evaluate what truly matters. We live in a culture easily distracted by criticism, offense, and temporary problems, but Scripture calls us to focus on what lasts. People matter. Eternity matters. Many of the things that consume our attention today won't matter 100 years from now. A special challenge is given to fathers and parents through the powerful wordplay of SO • SEW • SOW. What we make important gets stitched into the lives of the next generation. Our attitudes, priorities, and faith become the seeds our children eventually plant in their own homes. Whether you're facing opposition, criticism, disappointment, or simply wondering if God's promises are still true, this message will encourage you to stop seeking permission from people and start trusting the God who already spoke. The question isn't whether everyone else believes it. The question is: Did God say it? 👋 New to Citygate? We’d love to connect: https://citygate.tv/new 🙏 Need prayer?
