Join us this week as we conclude our Genuine sermon series, walking through 1 John — a letter written to a weary church longing for clarity, confidence, and truth. This week, Pastor Tara VinCross brings us a message titled That You May Know, exploring 1 John 5:13-21. John wrote these words so that you may know you possess eternal life, right here, right now.  It's not the cold knowledge of facts. It's the lived, rooted, unshakeable confidence that eternal life is not just a future promise — it is yours right now.

Love is what makes the invisible God, visible to the world. Jesus never wanted incarnation to stop at his ascension. God longs to live incarnate in you and me. A recent viral comedy sketch struck a nerve, not because it was outrageous, but because it felt familiar. It exposed a tension many people already feel: the gap between the Jesus they read about in Scripture and the church they often experience in real life. In 1 John 3, the apostle John names this tension with startling clarity. He takes us back to one of the Bible’s oldest stories, the story of Cain and Abel, and shows us that Cain is more than a villain. Cain is a pattern. A way of thinking. A way of organizing the world around fear, rivalry, and exclusion. John warns us plainly: the way of Cain always leads to death, death in relationships, death in communities, and death within us. But he also offers hope. “We know that we have passed from death to life,” John says, “because we love one another.” This message is an honest, pastoral look at what love really is, and what it isn’t. Not sentimental or performative, but costly, healing, and outward-facing. A love that lifts people up instead of shoving them down. A love that refuses to answer fear with force or hatred with more hatred. In a heavy and painful moment for our world, this sermon invites us to examine the way we are living, the stories we are believing, and the path we are choosing. Because resurrection doesn’t only happen someday, it begins whenever we turn from fear to love. Join us as we listen again to John’s call to choose the way of Christ, and to step again, from death to life. Join us for live worship every Saturday at 9 am and 11:45 am in Grand Terrace. One of the quiet struggles of modern faith is distance. God can feel distant. Truth can feel abstract. Faith can feel like an idea we affirm rather than a life we inhabit. 1 John insists on something radical: The Word of God has come within human reach. On the first Sabbath of 2026, Pastor Gabriel delivered a message titled "The Word Within Our Reach." Join us for live worship every Saturday at 9 am and 11:45 am in Grand Terrace. On December 20, 2025, our service was led by Pastoral Reflections on The Unlikely Hope of Christmas. When you stop and really listen to the Christmas story, as if for the first time, there is so much that could have gone wrong. An engaged virgin, a decree from Caesar, a journey to Bethlehem, no room in the inn, an angelic announcement, three wise men, and a feeding trough. There were so many seemingly random actions coming together in a Divine Plan for our salvation. We invite you to hear The Story that changes everything as the unlikely miracle of hope that it was. Truly, a gift from God! Join us for live worship every Saturday at 9 am and 11:45 am in Grand Terrace. Our address is 22633 Barton Rd, Grand Terrace CA, 92313--hope to see you soon!
