My computer issues are (mostly) fixed! Hoping to get back into my regular schedule shortly.

I will be taking a short break from podcasting. Just a quick announcement explaining why it might be a couple of weeks before I upload an episode.

As covered in my episode from not too long ago "The Problematic Aspects of Dungeons and Dragons" there has been much debate in the D&D community as to the tendency to write certain races as inherently evil. In this episode we will talk a little about alignments and ponder the pros and cons of a fantasy world where no race or species is automatically viewed as evil.

Depression can be a prison, both emotionally and physically. Content warning: Depression, mental illness, suicide This story can be found on creepypasta.fandom.com, and is protected by creative commons license.

In this episode Al talks with author Lilse Asalt about D&D and her experiences running the game at her local coffee house. You can find Lilse's YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@lilseasalt

On July 30, 2026 Wizards of the Coast announced the return of the Dark Sun setting. If you are not familiar with this setting, think of it as Mad Max meets Dungeons and Dragons, but without the guns and cars. This is an impromptu episode where I discuss my thoughts on the return of this setting.

In this episode we will take a look at some of the aspects of Dungeons & Dragons that, over the last few years, have been labeled as problematic. We will be taking a look at topics like racism, sexism, politics, and the origin of orcs. This was not a fun episode to write. I tried to understand the views of both sides. Spoiler alert: I think both sides have issues, but they are not the same.  This is a long episode, and I still don't think I covered everything I could have or should have touched upon.  More importantly, there is the question of what we should do about aspects of D&D that are considered problematic. There is not an answer that will satisfy everyone, but I will do my best to discuss what we should do.
