Does God REALLY Want You To Leave Your Marriage?
2026/10/23
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! God did not tell you to leave your marriage. I need to say that plainly, because I keep hearing the opposite. “I’ve been praying about it.”  “I think God is showing me a way out.”  “I just don’t feel it anymore, so maybe this is His answer.” Friends, that is not an answer from God. That is sin wearing Christian language. This week a man left a comment on one of my videos. His wife had been praying for months. There was no infidelity. No biblical reason. And she filed anyway. Then she went and sang on the platform that Sunday about how nothing is impossible with Jesus. In 14 years at Marriage Helper, I have heard that story more times than I can count. Married 20 years and “we just grew apart.” Married two years and “I think I have feelings for someone else.” Churchgoing. Jesus-loving. And walking out for no reason they can actually name. So in this video, I’m talking to the Christians. Not teaching from the research this time. Just conviction. I walk through what God actually said about marriage, why Jesus told the Pharisees that divorce only exists because of hardened hearts, and what it really means to sing “my whole life for your glory” on Sunday and then make decisions Monday based on what makes you happy. This is a hard word. Most of what Jesus said is. But if you want to know whether your decision lines up with God, don’t go off your feelings. Go off His Word. If you’re standing for your marriage right now and you’re tired, this one is for you. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Why Your Husband Won't Talk To You (And How To Fix It)
2026/09/11
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! He talks to everyone at the party. Then you get in the car and he goes silent. You ask a question. Nothing. You tell him about your day. Nothing. And you start to wonder if every other woman in that room was prettier, or funnier, or more interesting than you. Here's what I've learned after years of this work. Most men don't go quiet because they stopped caring. They go quiet because somewhere along the way, talking stopped feeling safe. In this video, I break down the three things that get a man to open up again. Stop the attack. Change the environment. Go first. The first one is the hardest, because most women don't know they're doing it. There is a difference between a complaint and a criticism. A complaint is about behavior. A criticism is about character. One sounds like "I wish you'd talk to me the way you talk to them." The other sounds like "what is wrong with you." He hears the second one even when you meant the first. Then he defends himself. Then you feel contempt. Then he stonewalls and stares at the floor and it's like you aren't even in the room. John Gottman called those the four horsemen, and they predict divorce with frightening accuracy. The second thing is environment. Not the dinner table. Not the bedroom. Not the living room with the game on. Outside if you can manage it, because nature settles people down. Timing and place matter more than the words you pick. The third thing is the one nobody wants to hear. Transparency breeds transparency. You go first. You tell the story about you. You stay open before he is, and then you wait, and you don't push. And whatever you do, don't say "we need to talk." That shuts a man down before you've said anything at all. I walk through all three, including what to do if you've already tried being open and he gave you nothing back. He can talk to you. He just has to feel safe enough to do it. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Is AI Ruining Your Marriage? What You Need To Know
2026/08/28
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! AI can give you brilliant relationship information. It can also give you brilliantly bad advice. And you won't know which one you got until it blows up in your face. Here's a true story. A woman's husband was flying home from a business trip. She wanted to show him how much she loved him. So she asked AI what to do. It gave her a list. She picked one. Lingerie from Victoria's Secret. Rose petals from the garage door, across the floor, up the stairs, down the hall to the bedroom. Kids farmed out for the night. Sounds perfect, right? Almost everyone watching this thinks so. He walked in and he was not happy. Here's what the machine didn't know. It didn't know her. It didn't know him. It didn't know the twenty years of nuance sitting inside that marriage. AI gathers information. Some of it is excellent. Some of it is terrible. And it can't tell the difference. In this video I explain: Why AI can find research fast but can't assess whether that research is any good Why "research proves" is a phrase that should make you suspicious Why answering a hundred questions doesn't mean the machine knows you, it just means it compared you to strangers who answered the same way The difference between information and wisdom, and why only one of them can save your marriage When AI is genuinely useful, and when it's dangerous I'm not against AI. I think it's brilliant. I use it. But it can bring you information. It can't tell you how to live. Use it for facts. Double check those facts. For the big decisions in your marriage, your dating life, your relationship with your mom, your son, your daughter, talk to someone who has the knowledge and the experience and the wisdom. The good news about the woman with the roses? We knew her. We knew him. When it blew up, we were there to help them understand what happened and how to fix it. That's something only a human being can do. Relationships aren't part of a machine. They're part of the heart. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. How To Get The RIGHT Help For Your Marriage
2026/08/21
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! Doing nothing feels safe. It isn't. When your marriage starts falling apart, most people freeze. You don't want to make it worse. You don't want the conflict. You don't know what to say. So you wait and hope it settles on its own. It almost never does. You really only have three options when trouble shows up. Do nothing. Get the wrong help. Get the right help. In this video, Dr. Joe Beam walks through all three, and why the second one does more damage than most people realize. The wrong help is rarely obvious. It's the friend who's still angry about her own divorce. It's family who love you too much to be objective. It's a counselor carrying bitterness she's never dealt with. It's a good-hearted couple online who saved their own marriage and now assume yours looks like theirs. None of those people are villains. They just aren't equipped to help you. A testimony is not a method. Caring is not a plan. He also covers what to actually look for. The right education. Values that match yours, or at least get respected. Someone who treats the marriage as the client instead of picking a side. And the questions to ask before you book a single session, including how they calculate the success rate they advertise. One warning worth repeating. If someone diagnoses your spouse without ever meeting your spouse, walk away. Most people don't wait because they stopped caring. They wait because they're hoping it resolves itself. Get help early. Even if your spouse isn't there yet. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. How To Punish My Cheating Spouse
2026/08/14
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! They didn't make a mistake. A mistake is grabbing the wrong bag at baggage claim. A mistake is an accident you didn't choose. What happened to you was a choice. They knew. And calling it a mistake is just a softer word for something that isn't soft at all. So the anger makes sense. The urge to make them feel a fraction of what you're feeling makes sense. Which brings us to the actual question. How do you punish a spouse who cheated? There are four doors. Body, mind, heart, and soul. Physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual. And three that people walk through most often: their money, their reputation, and their kids. Here's the part that gets left out. They all work. You really can make their life miserable. You can keep them guilty for thirty years. You can call the boss. You can tell the church. You can make the children choose. The problem isn't that punishment fails. The problem is what it costs the person doing it. Destroy them financially and you may be destroying money you need. Destroy their reputation and you hand your own name to the same gossip. Keep them anxious and guilty and you have to stay in that room with them to do it. And parental alienation isn't protection for your kids. It's your pain, routed through them. You have every right to punish them. The question is what it turns you into, and whether that's the person you want to be five years from now. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Do Cheaters Always Cheat?
2026/08/07
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! Do cheaters always cheat? You've heard it from your mom. Your best friend. Maybe even a counselor who has never met your spouse. After 30 years of working with marriages in crisis, we can tell you it isn't true. Not for most people. In this video, Dr. Joe Beam breaks down three different kinds of affairs, because the answer to your question changes completely depending on which one you're actually dealing with. The high opportunity, low involvement affair. Wrong place, wrong time, no real emotional connection. The emotional affair. Limerence. Consuming, powerful, and it has a shelf life. The habitual affair. The one that keeps repeating until something underneath it finally gets addressed. Three very different situations. Three very different answers. Here's what decades of workshops and couples have shown us. When both spouses figure out how it happened, and then repair what made it possible, the vast majority never cheat again. But "figure out" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. You can't just reset and hope. You have to understand it. Then you have to build something different in its place. So the real question isn't whether cheaters always cheat. The real question is this. Is your spouse a good person who did a bad thing, or a bad person who did a bad thing? Because one of those can be repaired. In this video, Dr. Joe walks you through how to tell the difference, why almost everyone advising you right now is a biased source, and what it takes to build a marriage that's stronger than the one you had before the affair. Standing When Your Spouse Checks Out
2026/07/31
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! Everyone around you is starting to ask the same question. Why are you still trying? Your spouse is checked out. Maybe they've stopped sleeping in the same bed. Maybe they've moved out completely. Maybe there's someone else. And nothing you've tried has moved the needle even an inch. So the people who love you start looking at you sideways. They think you're standing in a graveyard. Here's what they're missing. Standing for your marriage doesn't require certainty. It requires confidence. You can't be certain what your spouse will do. They're a grown adult making their own choices, and nobody can honestly promise you a specific ending. But you can be confident that change is possible, because we've watched thousands of couples walk out of situations that looked exactly like yours. And here's the part almost nobody tells you. Standing changes you long before it changes anything else. In this video, one of our coaches shares what three years of standing actually looked like. His wife stayed in the affair the whole time. The marriage ended in divorce. And he still says he'd do it all over again. Not because standing saved the marriage. Because standing made him someone worth being. If your confidence has been living inside your spouse's approval, this one is going to sting a little. In the best way. Because it's never wrong to do the right thing. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Dr. John Gottman Reveals All The Top Secrets For Great Relationships
2026/07/24
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! Most marriage advice is recycled fluff. This is not. I sat down with Dr. John Gottman, the man who has spent 40+ years studying what actually makes marriages work and what destroys them. Not opinions. Not theories. Exposed-to-thousands-of-couples-in-a-research-lab findings. And what he told me? Some of it will surprise you. The couples who last, the "masters," aren't the ones who avoid conflict. They're the ones who lean into it without getting defensive. They stay curious instead of critical. They treat their spouse's complaints like information, not attacks. We also got into the stuff nobody talks about openly. Why most couples are embarrassed to discuss sex. Why compatibility is actually a myth. What commitment really looks like on a Tuesday morning when you're frustrated. And how the way you respond to "no" in the bedroom determines everything. Dr. Gottman told me that after 35 years of marriage, he still looks forward to talking to his wife at breakfast every single morning. If your marriage feels disconnected, boring, or like you're roommates, this conversation will show you why. And more importantly, what the research says you can do about it. This is one of my favorite interviews I've ever done. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Affairs, AI, and a 30 Year Crush – Reacting To Unhinged YouTube Comments
2026/07/17
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! You leave the comments. I read them. This week I'm going straight into the ones that made me stop scrolling. The bold ones. The angry ones. The ones that questioned everything I teach. A woman still carrying a crush from 30 years ago, wondering why it still hurts. A commenter convinced that saving a marriage means forcing two miserable people to stay together. Someone who swears you could never ask your spouse what makes them feel loved and actually get an answer. A person certain that once a cheater, always a cheater. And one comment about AI that I could not let go of. Here's what I keep coming back to. The future doesn't have to look like the past. But only if you're willing to fix what was actually broken. You can walk away and start over, but if you never deal with what pushed the other person away, you carry it straight into the next relationship. That's the push and the pull. The things you do that make your spouse feel seen. And the things you do that quietly make them feel like you don't love them. Most of us are moving too fast to even notice the difference. Then there's AI. I'm not scared of the technology. I'm scared of what happens when people turn to their phone at 2am instead of to God, to a friend, to the hard and vulnerable conversation with the person sitting right in front of them. I'm scared of a generation losing the skill to actually be a good husband or a good wife. Rant included. Hope included. Because there is always hope. How To Identify A Limerent Affair
2026/07/10
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! You're convinced nobody has ever felt what you're feeling right now. I understand why. But I've sat with hundreds of people who felt the exact same thing. The obsessive pull toward someone who isn't your spouse.  The daydreaming that swallows most of your day.  The spiral when they don't text back fast enough.  The certainty that this one person is the only thing standing between you and a happy life. It has a name. Limerence. It feels like the deepest love you've ever known. It isn't. It's a spike. A chemical high wrapped around a fantasy you've built in your mind, one where you can't see their flaws and they can't see yours. And here's what nobody in the middle of it wants to hear: it ends. Every time. In this video, you'll hear the story of a man who was sure he was the exception. He walked away from his marriage, his family, all of it, because being with her felt like the only thing that mattered. Three years later he was back, trying to rebuild the life he'd torn apart. Limerence draws people together. It was never built to keep them together. That takes a different kind of love entirely. If you're in the early stages, deep in the thick of it, or trying to pick up the pieces after it, this one is worth your time. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. "My Husband Paid Me $2000 To Marry Him" – Answering Listener Questions
2026/07/03
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! You made a commitment. But you're not sure you'd make it again. That's where a lot of people are. And in this episode, I answer their questions honestly. One woman has been married 41 years. She loves her husband. She's just never been in love with him. She's asking if it's too late, or if this whole thing was a 41-year mistake. Another asks the thing most separated spouses are afraid to say out loud. If we're both doing fine apart, if we're both becoming our best selves, what would ever bring us back? And one man wants an answer to something bigger. Does God change hearts? Or has his wife's decision already settled it? Here's what I keep coming back to. Love is a choice. But it's also a process. Follow the path and you can fall in love with almost anyone. Stop following it and you can fall out of love without ever meaning to. PIES is where it starts. Physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual. But it's the first step, not the finish line. Becoming your best self doesn't pull someone back on its own. Two people don't fall in love just by standing side by side as their best selves. There has to be a lean in. There has to be acceptance. A safe place where someone is finally allowed to be who they are without being asked to change. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. How to Get Your Spouse to ACTUALLY Talk to You Again
2026/06/26
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! What to do in the first 72 hours after your marriage crisis: Watch Here 👉 https://bit.ly/4wgrNiq Most conversations with your spouse aren't going anywhere. They're stale. They're tense. Or they've stopped happening altogether. Every time you try to talk, it turns into the same fight. You go in circles. And somehow you land worse than where you started. Here's the shift: stop circling. Start looping. A circle erases. Every fight burns down whatever progress you made and resets you to zero. Sometimes below zero. A loop builds. You lay one track, you save it, you build on it. Layer by layer, day by day, until you look up and it's a real marriage again. In this video, I'll show you how to do it. The first track you always lay down (hint: it's not the problem you think you need to solve). How to bank a win instead of tearing it back down with your very next sentence. And the six loops you move through in order, because you don't get to pick where you start. You earn your way up. Same couple. Same conversation. Two completely different outcomes. I'm Dr. Kimberly Beam Holmes, and for 14 years I've helped people save marriages everyone else said were over. If you're tired of having the same fight on repeat, this is where you start. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Our Counselor Told Us To Divorce... We Saved Our Marriage Instead
2026/06/22
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! Everyone told Scott to walk away. The affair. The lies. The cold distance that built for months. On paper, this was the marriage other people would tell you to end and not feel bad about it. He didn't walk away. Not because he was naive. Not because he excused anything. Because he still loved his wife, and he could not live with never having tried. In this conversation, Scott takes me back to 2019, the year his marriage came apart, and walks me through how it came all the way back. He found out at 4 in the morning. The phone going off. His wife not in the bed. The search he ran to figure out who was texting her is the thing that led him to Marriage Helper. What he learned there changed how he showed up. He stopped reacting. He stopped trying to control her. He stayed calm in the exact moments most people detonate. By the time his daughter pulled him aside and asked if he knew, he was already further into his own healing than anyone around him realized. Here is the part people argue with me about. "You're letting the cheater off the hook." "Once a cheater, always a cheater." We see it in the comments every week. Scott answers it head on. He never permitted anything. He was powerless to control someone else's choices. Accepting what you cannot control is not the same as excusing it. For a year, they were divorced in every way but the judge's signature. She moved states away. The settlement was nearly done. Then she came home. One year to the day after the workshop they attended together. Today their marriage is stronger than it was in the first 24 years. Scott coaches on our team now. His wife leads breakout groups at our workshops. If your marriage is the one everyone says can't be saved, this is the story to sit with. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. What To Do When You're Stuck In A Sexless Marriage
2026/06/19
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! You think it's a sex problem. Most of the time, it isn't. When the spark is gone and one of you is always "too tired," the instinct is to fix the bedroom. Buy something. Try harder. Schedule it. But the bedroom is almost never where the problem started. Up to a third of couples are living in what researchers call low-sex or no-sex marriages. You are not broken. You are not the only ones. And you are not stuck. Here's the part nobody tells you. A fatigued woman cannot get aroused. That isn't an attitude problem. It's physiology. So if she's running on empty all day and you're waiting for her to come alive at night, you're working against her body, not with it. Real intimacy is "into-me-see." It's what happens when the relationship outside the bedroom is healthy enough to follow you into it. Everything outside affects everything inside. And everything inside affects everything outside. This video walks through what's actually driving the distance. The exhaustion. The resentment. The slow drift where your passion quietly moved toward the kids, the job, the to-do list, and away from each other. It also covers what this won't fix. Physiological issues need a doctor. Past trauma needs a trained counselor. Those are real, and they matter. But if the problem is the relationship itself, that's the good news. Because that's the part you can actually change. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait. Am I Wrong For Questioning My Marriage After What My Husband Told Me?
2026/06/15
Enjoy the episode? Send us a text! Watch the video about our 7 step process here: https://bit.ly/3QfOjsj He sent me a message. He said he wants to work on his mistakes. He wants to move forward. He doesn't want our kid raised in a divided home. She read it and printed divorce papers. Her question. Is that even communication? Or is he just asking me to forget everything that happened? Here's where almost everyone gets this wrong. She thinks he's gaslighting her. She keeps a record of every conversation so she can prove she's not crazy. She feels unheard, dismissed, blamed. But I don't think he's gaslighting her at all. I think they're talking past each other. Two different worldviews. Two different ways of processing the same fight. And the record of wrongs she's keeping to feel grounded is the exact thing pushing him further away. In this video I read Reddit posts and respond to three real marriages. The husband with a female best friend he just handed 25% of his business. The husband who can't hold a job. And this one. He's trying. She just can't hear it yet. I'll show you what it actually takes to fix a marriage like this one. If you're struggling in your marriage, don’t wait.
