No So FKN Typical - S2 Ep.3 (Why Do We Settle for Good Enough?)
2026/09/22
This episode gets pretty vulnerable. We talk medication, mental health, getting stuck, therapy, fear, change and the possibility that maybe there’s something much better waiting on the other side of “good enough”. Not bad. Not terrible. Not falling apart. Just… good enough. This week’s question started with Steph talking about her mental health and medication. Because from the outside? She’s doing SO much better. Getting up. Working. Making the bed. Being present. Unpacking the dishwasher. 👏 And then her GP said: “We need to get you to a stage where you’re not just existing.” Because maybe there’s a difference between doing better and actually feeling better. And once we started talking about it, we realised this question is SO much bigger than medication. How many things do we accept because they’re not technically bad? A job. A friendship. A relationship. Our surroundings. The way we feel. The way we live. How often do we think: Well… it’s fine. And stop there? Obviously we also discuss Dana Scully, Bali, passport signatures and accidentally spending $120 on birth certificates because we have a reputation to uphold.

How To Live - Episode 9 (Bon Oh)
2026/09/10
Episode 9 - Everything is a skill with Bon Oh In this episode of How to Live, I sat down with Bon Oh – pharmacist, founder of Memorise Medicine, and a good friend of mine. He talked about the asymmetrical returns we can get from the relationships in our lives, how we become the average of the five people we surround ourselves with (including ourselves!), and ‘chilli’ vs ‘tomato sauce’ topics. We talked about growing up in immigrant households, and how we are soft compared to our parents. Bon shared his belief that “everything is a skill” and broke down why social skills, learning how to learn, and understanding how your OWN body operates are all skills worth developing. Alongside this, we shared ideas on how we can build resilience when life is comfortable. He shared a story of how teaching a patient to make a habit of walking after meals and measuring his blood glucose afterwards, was the catalyst to a 40kg weight loss success! This patient also got off a bunch of their diabetes medications in the process. Lastly, Bon questioned Dr G about his meditation practice, and he happily shared.
