This week, we lost one of the true radio icons of South Jersey. Jack Cooney, better known by his radio name as Jackson T Chase passed away at the age of 75.  Originally from Norristown, T came to 1340 WMID after his service in Vietnam, joining Andy Volvo and Gary Lane on the hottest station at the shore in the early 1970s. He later worked at WAYV and WMGM before joining Dave and me at KOOL 98.3, where he did middays and afternoons for years.  A man who epitomized the phrase " larger than life."  This podcast is our way of remembering someone who will never be forgotten.

Dave is suddenly getting busy and pleasing his wife by getting his tired old butt out of the house, as he starts two new side gigs. In this episode you will learn where you can see Dave in action (or as close to action as it gets for Dave.)  Jerry is parking his tired old butt on the couch with plenty of snacks at the ready. It's been three long months since Dave and Jerry have last podcasted. We can't give details as litigation is ongoing but we can say that the boys are currently free on their own recognizence. And they are happy to discuss what's been going on during their extended absence.  The Phillies collapse, the Mets implosion, current events and radio station trips. They're as comfortable as a pair of old slippers, and they don't smell as bad!

Dave and Jerry are two radio DJs who do morning shows on different stations, but like to get together for lunch every month. And before lunch, they sit around and talk shop. Comparing notes on goofy news stories and topics of interest. And you, dear listeners, are lucky to be flies on the wall. And you know what attracts flies! No, not sugar.  

Dave did something this week that he has never done before - he donated blood plasma. He had a tube stuck in one arm and was signing autographs for the nurses with the other.  Dave and Jerry discuss ChatGPT and how it is affecting the radio and voiceover business. Which brought up the question "What is happening in today's world that makes you feel old?"  Ummm, EVERYTHING!  You'll grow old just listening to this exciting and provocative podcast episode. 

Dave shares that he is suffering from a foot injury. He's not sure how he got it, but it started right after taking a nasty spill down the stairs while wearing his wife's high heels (don't ask).  Dave has also been on a healthy eating regimen and shares his weight loss tips. Meanwhile, the makers of Little Debby Snack Cakes have watched their sales drop by a third! And a shout out to It's Called Pork Roll Superfan George "Pickled Eggs" O'Donnell, who says what loves most about this podcast is that "it's free."

Just when you thought that the cancel culture movement had finally got rid of Dave and Jerry, they are back with Episode One Hundred Thirty Seven. The boys have been busy. Jerry was in Washington DC and saw a Nationals baseball game. that brought up the topic of a poll about Americans' favorite bucket list vacations. Does anyone else want to visit Paramus, NJ? You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hold your nose when listening to this one.

Father Time is shadowing the original Lost Boys, Dave and Jerry. This episode features a lot of complaining about various old man ailments like gout, bunions, rickets, hair loss, hearing loss, incontinence and ED.  Listening to this podcast will make you feel better about your own lives.  Enjoy!

Dave and Jerry are back from vacations. Jerry went to Walt Disney World and Dave went on a cruise. And now, they're both 20 pounds heavier and broke as well.  They discuss the AI computer voices that are now available, and that sound pretty good. Could Dave and Jerry be replaced by computers? Then they could go on a permanent vacation. So, catch them before they are officially declared obsolete.  Actually I think that may have already happened.

Dave is mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore!  Unfortunately, Dave is having problems with a contractor who took a sizeable deposit and is now ghosting him. Dave talks about the situation and the steps he's taken to no avail.  Renovations have finished for Lucy the Elephant. The boys discuss what they think would be a huge moneymaker - a slide chute ride out Lucy's backside. And passing by the Shore Mall (it will always be the SHORE MALL) it was very bittersweet to see the Towne 16 completely demolished. So, out with the old and in with the new. Yet another fireside chat with Dave and Jerry as we warm ourselves with EMFs by the transmitter tube.  Reminiscing about growing up and how things have changed over the years. The kind of conversation that you would hear every day over tapioca pudding at the Senior center.   You probably feel the same way, especially if you're over 50 and have lost your coolness. It's all fun though and a great way to waste 25 minutes!

Ho Ho Ho! No, that's not a Christmas wish. Dave and Jerry talk about Christmas at their homes and their family traditions. Meanwhile, Dave announces he will be taking a break from his personal facebook page. He feels like he is spending way too much time with it. (Translation - his wife caught him looking at questionable material and now his screen time has been limited.)
