Her passion for writing began in 2006 when she started making music. However, it wasn’t until 2012 that she started to take writing more seriously. She aspired to pursue a degree in Creative Writing in college, but she struggled with the strict guidelines and regulations that came with the territory. Lavonte shared that he originally came up with the idea of creating a podcast and knew that he wanted Jami to be his partner. Despite their differences, they complement each other perfectly. They brainstormed various names for the podcast, and after getting the blessing from their cousin Ponnie, one of the founders of BornLeadaz, they finalized the name and kicked off the podcast in September 2020, during the pandemic.
